Very awesome, and very unbelievable. This is huge though, we aren't allowed to use stem cells, so we found something else that works in sort of the same way.

The man who grew a finger

‘Pixie’ dust helps finger grow.

Stupid cool – assuming this is legitimate, this is going to be huge. This is why I love science, this is why I want to be a scientist, this is why I love humankind: we take the cards that nature deals us, then throw the cards back in the dealer’s face and say “🤬 you!”

 YEEAHH!

Edit: Just watched the video. Talk about amazing.

Apparently this has been denounced as "junk science"...

Professor Simon Kay, professor of hand surgery at the University of Leeds, said the claims by the US company that developed the powder were "junk science"..."It's a ridiculous story – absurd and over-egged in the extreme," Kay said. "It looked to have been an ordinary fingertip injury with quite unremarkable healing. All wounds go through a repair process."

Linkeh.

Sounds like there's some debate about it, which is to be expected. Scientists don't just throw their hands up and say "it's a miracle!". The folks with the powder are fighting back, claiming that it's no the only evidence they have that the powder is working.

I can only hope this thing stands up to the scrutiny that it deserves.

I was afraid of that, which is why I prefaced my post with “assuming this is legitimate”. I was hoping though that since it was from the BBC, they would have done some research to make sure they weren’t covering a BS story.

Apparently, in some cases the accidentally severed fingertips of children up to 12 years of age also completely regenerate, in the same manner as that man's finger did.
