The market is now dead

I dont understand I live in conservative Sweden, we don't have chicken here...:nervous:

LMAO

Thread is going way off topic .

Anyway.. bro. It wasn't a personally attack, take it easy. It's my opinion.

Whatever lets leave it alone I'm fine, and I agree getting a bit too far off topic.

Back on topic, I don't think the marketplace is dead. Paint chips are still in demand, and there are other cars than the 20mil ones that seem to be moving all over the place. I think most of us are savvy enough to figure it out and "play fair" should we desire.

Exactly, the exploit in no way is killing the market place here on the forum. Someone said earlier if you got the 20mil car legit, I highly doubt you'd want to sell it anyway.

You know, this is another case where options would just fix everything.

At game start, decide if you want unlocks and credits or not. Those who don't get it all, go race online, but can't trade. The others get to play their way with unlocks and trading.

So simple, but no one does it.

Lol I gave away two 20mil cars and a bunch of cards cause their value was incredibly low in my eyes I don't think that that ruined the market, just those four cars. Supply and demand boys supply and demand. The same reason that the yellowbird is also near worthless and the supra rz will be soon to follow!

My next prediction for the market: high demand for the mazda3 so start scowering the used car lots ;)

Still if everyone was legit, then genuinely maybe someone with a 20 mil car may be able to ask for 10 or 15 really good cars in return which someone may be willing to trade (instead they are being basically given away at this point). So I'd say certain vehicles are ruined in here, the attempt by PD to make them exclusive (with such a high price tag) has been failed by the glitching system. But overall, people are all over paint chips and regular or heavily modified cars just fine.

You see that still doesn't really work, though. If you traded one car for 15 you would have to wait 15 days to complete the trade. That's over 2 weeks, almost as long as the game has been out.

Ohh yeah I forgot about that and agree as well, the fact you can only gift 1 per day absolutely needs to be fixed. If it were then everything would be smoother and values would work themselves out a bit more.

Hi, My understanding is this game never was intended to have a 'marketplace', just the ability to share a few cars with friends, nothing about trying to turn a profit. I hope it stays that way too, that's GT, we don't want Forza in this game, if you like making profits from trading, play FM3 then. This is Gran Turismo, the racing game, not a marketplace.
that will always be my opinion, a true GT fan since day1 of GT1.

Times change and the world moves on. People obviously do want to trade cars, though I'm not sure where profits come into it.
I'm afraid you're in the minority and perhaps, the past.

Kaz syndrome as it's more commonly known.

So the markets dead, is this thread dead yet?

Clearly the market isn't dead for everyone.
Some people feel cheated because others have taken the easy route, while they continue to "grid", I mean, play the game as it was intended.
Some people feel that it has enhanced their game play, while others do not.
Some feel it was Sony's or PD's way to entice a broader audience with exploits.
Some feel proud to pull up in an exploited car, while others just shun at the idea.
Some feel it may have saturated the trading value of certain cars, but really don't see it as a problem.
Some will never hit the market because of this exploit.

At the end of the day, the market place is a first time for the GT Series, and a nice addon but it is missing out on some much needed features to make it a complete market and trade solution for gamers.

The birthday gift was a great idea, thanks Kaz! Nice touch! Too bad most of these guys can't wait to open their presents.... I can't imagine what Christmas must be like.

So like the market, is this thread dead yet? It's ability to stay on track seems to diminish once everyone gets their opinions out on the table.

Market place is still just a sub-forum on GTPlanet at the end of the day, though. PD probably had a idea people would trade cars, but they set it up as a GIFT. Everyone thinks it's for trading, but really they just wanted people to be nice to each other and gift cars :D.

:D Exactly. In the spirit of giving, tis the Season!

That's right! We shouldn't be allowed any advancements made in the genre unless PD made them first!

I see it as this, it's the same damn car, and even through the Birthday glitch, 908's are still incredibly hard to come by.
And not everyone wants to spend 3 hours doing the same race for 1 damn car like i did with the GT By Citroen.
So stop your bitching.

We don't want forza, if we would, we would have played forza right? But we want some functions that was featured in forza 3, because whey would be handy of course. I sick and tired of people like you saying such things, dont you get it? If we are here writing stuff, trying to improve things, we like gt5 and want to play this game.

Since you don't like profit, you could allways trade me some rare cars for ****** ones, right? Or even better you could give me all your garage.

The problem with people like you saying "ive played gt since day 1" is that you become stuck in a box, not seeing other things around you.

Youre kidding right? This marked thread is one of the best solutions in this forum, in this way all car enthusiasts can get their favourite car with some luck, and play online like it was intendet from the beggining, at least thats what im doing, i like a big variety of cars, and i dont really care if they are rare or glitched by fellow members.

If third part programers would make a program that could be implemented in ps3 and gt5 that would make the trading easyer, i would be more than happy. Thats the bad part with consolles, not enought opportunities for implementing you own stuff.

*snip* The problem with people like you saying "ive played gt since day 1" is that you become stuck in a box, not seeing other things around you.

 Like exploiting security loop holes in the game for an unfair advantage?

Yeah man, look around..... there's a lot of ways to cheat the system! It's just a game so why should you have an ounce of integrity, it's just virtual anyways.

The birthday glitch has seriously killed the market in my opinion. everybody has p4's, ford mark IV cars, etc.

i'm not going to lie I did it once and I got a mercury, but it was such a pain making another account I definitley wouldn't do it again.

These cars are supposed to be worth millions in the game but in our gaming world nothing.

Matt paints are in abundunce, because you have to trade a stupid amount of this rare paint to get one car.

some people can't even compete, which is a shame, as we as a community built the market place, and trading was good. if I found a rare car, I could trade it to get a car I really wanted, now everybody has that same car and its no longer "rare".

I remember back when I was a boy, we had football stickers. if you had a "shiny" they were worth loads! you could get a whole teams worth just with that one sticker! collecting the whole album was the fun of it!

I know peoples views on the amount of money the cars cost, the amount of time they have to put in, and it is ridiculous, if PD had used proper currency (GBP or Dollars) and gave the cars their real value and also gave us money corresponding to the events, i.e difficulty, then people may have not gone to such extreme measures to get these cars. also the XP part of the game is seriously flawed, its way to much getting to another level (someone has likening it to FF which it is in a way).

I really enjoyed GT and GT2, it was fun racing, making money and buying the cars I really wanted.

GT5 as many people have said is a bit of a chore, but saying that the game cost me £40 ($60), and theres loads to do so I will be playing it for ages, saving money up to get the cars I want, it will take time I know, but the satisfaction getting that final car is immense, just think how you felt when you leveled up in cod to get that acr!

Its too late now but I think PD should have re-evalulated the XP thing and the cost of cars and maybe this would have made it more enjoyable, maybe the difficultly, (if you play on expert you get more money/more XP than someone on easy)

I don't know, just my two cents (as you americans say!)

Merry Christmas!

You have got to be kidding right? If anything ther birthday glitch has OPENED up the mrakets.

The variety and choice is now amazing.

The birthday glitch has meant that cars that would never be abel to be traded are now easily accessed making th egame inifinitely more enjoyable for those of us worlomg famliy adults who DO NOT have 100's of hours of free time to grind up the mountain. Iam level 22 and have EVERY car I want expect the Formula GT.

I can now drive to my hearts content, and get my bloody moneys worth.

Soory to say but not everyone playing these games is either an idle teenager or on the government dole with nary a care in the world and no other interests/obligations.

Quite frankly, they should have a pay-to-unlock all options feature.

I would glady pay $50 to get that feature. My time is worth a lot more than that to me, my family and my clients you see ;)

Hell I had so many P4's at one stage I was gifting em to all my real PSN friends

You want one mate?

I dunno about him, but there's a whole bunch of new players arriving that still think they're worth 20m..
You might catch a bargain if you really don't give a ****. ;)

I don't have the heart to do it myself..

Sure, I'll take one. ;)

Age 36, Wife, 3 kids, one full time job, 1 business with a partner and 3 employees, 2 side businesses, 2 dogs and a cat. Not sure what your age of lifestyle has to do with anything, but what ever works for ya.

So I guess different strokes for different folks. Although my time is limited, I still enjoy progressing through the game at a legitimate pace. So what if it takes me 5 more months to finish the dang game, just more racing time for me I guess. I am on the edge of being stuck at the moment outside of going for all golds in the license tests and special events so....

I guess then other than your family and work you only have 1 otherinterest then - GT5.

If you really where this "busy" then you would understand the concept. BUt as you so eloquantly point out, different strokes for different folks - I PAID for the game so I have bought the right o enjoy it how I wish to, same goes for you.

:)

BTW, it is not about "finishing the game" for me, never has been - I never got past 50% of GT4, because that is all that was needed to open up the Northloop and Le Sarthe as far as I recall - then I got a 100 billion credit game save and was able to drive whatever I wanted when ever I wanted. Hell I never even played thos silly ice/snow/rally parts of GT4 - not important to me.

I enjoy driving cars on track and taking on myself and the stopwatch.

I think it is silly that people write, "im 32, i have wife, kids, etc, etc" how can this information be important in game, or online racing? Its the virtual world, i dont care how old you are. Its like you old guys writing it just to justify the fact that you haven't grown up really.

No - people are sharing this indformation so you understand that not every player is a kid with idle time andno responsibilities.

The point are missing is we HAVE grown up and are BUSY productive people who enjoy letting off steam and playing the odd game - our lives are full and we asign SOEM time to gaming - not ALL of our time.

That again is the point you are totally missing.

I dunno about him, but there's a whole bunch of new players arriving that still think they're worth 20m..

I don't have the heart to do it myself..

I would just give it away, dont want anything in return - except maybe an X1 or Formula GT. :)
