Oh how I wish they had gone with a more exotic engine, if nothing else but for the sound. Still, it's a wonderful thing.

I was thinking they'd actually go 4 cylinder when I first heard about the car. Mainly due to the F1 engine changes being that of 4-pots at the time.

Jag took that route. And it looks brilliant.

Yeah it would have been brilliant if Jag didn't put the program on ice, since it may never come to production. Such a great car and it's stupid that it may never compete with the three other hybrid hyper cars.

They made 2 prototypes and will sell them, but it's still very sad :(

Looks so good in all black.

And there's one episode of Top Gear I'm looking forward to :sly:

Looks to me that they are purposely getting the back end out at La Source, they are on the power (probably Clarkson) mid turn and anyone that has watched racing on this track for years or even played on it virtually knows when to put the power on. So I wonder why it is being done on purpose because I'm sure they know how to do it. However, it may be due to it being wet as well and putting down 700-900 hp around a tight bend in those conditions might be why also. Yet with top gears past shenanigans and making cars seem worse than they really are I'm skeptical.

Thank you Spider-Man I just found my favorite color of this car! Too bad I'll never be able to afford it 👍 Even if it is just a bodykit.

This is not record. Zonda R did it in 6:47 :D why they celebrating ?

What does the Zonda have to do with this? Its not street legal nor does it have a hybrid system, which I'm pretty sure is the significance with this record.

Not sure what having a hybrid system has to do with it either :D

The significance of the 918's lap is that's it is the first Globally homologated road car to break 7 mins.

The Zonda's lap looks a bit pedestrian now... the R isn't street legal, was running cut slicks, and still only managed to run 10s faster than the 918.

Really??!! The driver in the P1 broke 7, 7 minites. Is this the first production car that a driver was able to do it? This time is close to a driver being in a race car.

Was under the impression it had beaten some previous hybrids (like that Toyota powered car.)

Which is the point I was trying to make.
