Anyone heard any Skindred or Monster Magnet. I'm not someone to put bands in genre but they sound metal enough to me. What about Lamb Of God.

And I don't exactly like his vocals but they're alright. I'd prefer something less hardcore like that, maybe something like skindred's nobody.

Monster Magnet were one of the pioneers of the Stoner Rock genre (alongside the now defunct Kyuss). Although, their modern stuff has strayed from the genre they helped create. Either way, Monster Magnet are hardly metal.

Lamb of God are pretty boring IMO. I dunno, metalcore just doesn't seem to appeal to me much these days. The only metalcore band I never get tired of is All That Remains.

I've only heard one Skindred song. It was alright. It's on NFSU2. Although I'm probably the only one here who has it.

i didnt know it was on there. i turn off the music on all racing games though... and the only good songs on that game were ministry and mudvayne.

Uh... unless there's another band in a different category of music Southern Culture On The Skids is NOT Metal and sucks too. :ill: I feel like I'm listening to the friggin Beatles or something.

i agree with that. i dont like albums that are very political. i can understand some things but it gets taken out of hand a lot. music is to entertain. not to change the world.

someone tell bono i said that.

My g/f listened to 'Nobody' by skindred, and she said it sounded like a cross between koRn and . . . who was it . . .Bob Marley?

Anyways...I like that song...but I like koRn much, Much more.

The only Korn albums i still like are their first one and untouchables. the rest have good songs but have a more rap feel.

lately i like stuff that is either really fast or has heavy bass.

Anyone heard the new In Flames promo (Come Clarity)? I've listened to it a few times through now and can write a half-arsed review.

It's possible that they might just recover from the nu-metal heap of crap that Soundtrack To Your Escape was. It's no Jester Race, but it is certainly a step back in the 'right' direction. Anders still uses a lot of melody on this album, however this time he got it right. It's actually well implemented and gone are the warbly Korn vocals from Soundtrack. In fact, some of the melodic passages are quite nice and actually flow well with the song.

This album is probably their heaviest effort since Colony, if not, ever. Actually, musically, it's quite obvious they drew a lot of influence from Colony. There's quite a lot of groove riffs and breakdowns throughout the album, but my only complaint is that Jesper has seemed to have lost his spark. Gone is the awesome lead guitar work and solos from previous albums (minus STYE).

All in all, they've done a good job in combining the two eras (pre-Clayman and post-Colony). In fact, on the song "Dead End" there's some female vocals thrown in, harking back to their debut Lunar Strain album. It's certainly going to be a good album, but it's still not quite as good as they can do (especially on Jesper's part :().

:)

Thanks for the review, Shannon. I'll definitely check it out. 👍

About Jesper, I've lost my faith in him a long time ago... 👎

Nice avatar, btw. ;)

I have been hearing Korn-Twisted Transister on the radio lately.
Sounds a lot like Marilyn Manson. I just started hearing it the other day for the first time and I like it.
I have also been liking some of the new Disturbed songs I they play on the radio.
