The most common expensive/high performance car

I see quite a few Subaru STI's and Mitsubishi Evo's where I am, just the other day I even saw the 2014 STI. Mostly 2001-2003 Subaru Impreza STI's though. And quite a few Evo VII-IX's.

Probably the Tesla Model S, which are also increasingly popular for taxi use:

Near me, any Porsche is the most common expensive/high performing car. I always see 1 or more Porsches of any variety per day.

Got to be the Audi S5. I see at least one every day, no exaggeration. Why are RS5s so much rarer? Are they really that much more expensive or are these buyers just ignorant of the fact that Audi's top line is the RS and not the S range? If they can afford one surely they can afford the other???
This, basically:

Oh, and we really, really need to define "expensive" and "high performance" for the context of this thread.

I think the most common ones I see are GT-Rs, Bentley Continentals, and DB9s. I see about one of each per day, perhaps with more GT-Rs and fewer DB9s.

Probably Mustangs followed by Corvettes. Depends how we're defining high performance though, as a 4th gen V6 Mustang isn't really a high performance car. Still plenty of newer V6's and V8 models around though, and I probably see at least 1 or 2 Corvettes every day even living in a small town.

There's an M235i and '15 Mustang GT convertible parked in front of my building a lot, while an E92 M3 and an SLS park in the underground. I'd say 997-and-newer 911's are probably the most common, followed by the Model S and/or the new Mustang GT. I'm not sure if I'd count the Ford though, based on price anyway.

M3's are up there, split evenly between E46 and E92, and so are S5's. Maserati Granturismos are surprisingly common too.

Most common? E46 M3. Rarely does a day pass without spotting at least three or four about town.

Impreza WRXs, 911s, F-Types, Caymans and Continentals are all up there though. With V8 Vantages, R35s and C63 AMGs not far behind in terms of semi-frequent sightings. R35s just happen to be more common around here because SVM (one of the country's GT-R specialists) are based just down the road.

Down my neck of the woods, pretty much anything from Audi's S and RS line up tend to be pretty common, along with R8s. I can only assume it's due to our dealer's lax business leasing packages.

V8 Vantages and older DB9s tend to be seen quite frequently these days as well. Oh, and F-Types.

No, it's actually quite rare to see a V6. And well, I wouldn't consider a V6 Mustang a "high performance car".
No, but it still wears the Mustang nameplate (obviously) in which most people associate "Mustang" with performance, regardless of whether or not that's actually true. I'd say it counts.

Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport are the most common expensive car round here. Golf Rs are a very common performance car. Boxters, Audi S/RS cars and BMW M cars are fairly common. I see a lot more Lotuses around here too compared to other parts of England (I guess because it's where they're from) including prototypes in camo.

There is also a ton of the final gen "fox body" mustangs around here.

How about you add something relevant to this thread? You can post about the new 370Z in the Auto News forum.

Bit rude, don't you think?

Ironic too, I've seen you completely derail a thread before.

Adding to the discussion, as well as some E92 M3's, I'm also seeing a large influx of C63's and 911's.

I've yet to see one as an actual taxi (as opposed to an Uber or Lyft vehicle) here, but it's still nearly impossible to throw a rock and not hit one. I was actually going to post the Model S as an example, until I saw you did it first. :P

No, it doesn't. It's just bleh. It's like saying every Audi counts because there's the S and RS line-ups.

I'd take an S5 over an RS5 because (at least in the US) you can't get an RS5 with a manual transmission but you can get an S5 with one.

Here in NH you see a lot of Mercedes. I think it's because people who move here are retired and want a comfortable cruiser.

Corvettes. Everywhere. And it's always some senior citizen or his wife behind the wheel. You can't get anymore stereotypical than that.
Oh, also there's the Camaro and Challenger, but I don't really consider them to be as high-performance as a Corvette.

Here in Georgia, discarding halo muscle cars because they're relatively inexpensive for what they are, and for the sake of keeping this interesting.

Probably would be the Tesla Model S. Or maybe Porsches.

I'm next to detroit so Mustangs, Challengers, Camaros, and Corvettes galore.

I remember Seattle had a shocking number of Porsche 911s. They were literally all over the city. Dallas is definitely a Lamborghini city. I saw them basically every day I went into work. Also, E9x BMW M3s everywhere in Dallas.

I'm thinking 150mph+ and/or sub 5 seconds 0-60 time is "high performance", so I guess the most common around my neighbourhood would be various BMW Mx, plus a few fast Mercs, but I'm lousy at identifying them as I find them kinda boring. Annoyingly never seen an SLS AMG though.

Lots of Imprezas of various generations, far less Evos.

In terms of true Supercars, I see GTRs relatively frequently, at least a couple a month, next up is the R8, then various Ferraris, usually 360s, 430s or Californias. Gallardos I see rarely, Murcis even more so, and I haven't seen an Aventador or Huracan in the wild. Surprisingly not seen a 458 or 12C either :(

GTs, there are quite a lot of Astons around, mostly DB9s and DBS, but V12s and other models are more scarce. Never seen an original Vanquish. Also plenty of Bentley Contis around here.

TVRs are surprisingly, well, not common, but not rare either. Usually Cerberas or Griffiths, occasional Tuscan, Tamora or 350C. Only seen one Sagaris though.

Elises are pretty common, but Exiges much less so. Occasionally spot an Esprit.

Last weekend during one drive I saw two GTRs, an R8 and a 430, but that was unusual.

Was in Ann Arbor yesterday, can confirm. Two Charger Hellcats on the way in from Grand Rapids. Thought I lost my mind.

Here on the west side, it's much the same. Shake a tree, two Corvettes and a Mustang GT come out. As far as the super-premium things go, growing up on the east side of town, its a lot of 911s, more AMG SUVs, S5s, and Conti GTs that you see on the regular.
