Standings after round 2. Now these need some explanation until
@Zolon32 updates the opening post. The scoring is based on an idea
@IfAndOr had to make adjustments to the standard 16 to 1 system and instead, if you perform below expectations, your score is adjusted down and if you score above expectations, you get less. "Expectations" here are defined as your average finishing positions to before this event, so for this week 2, it is the average for the 2 races of week 1. If any event is your first, you get standard points.
The idea behind the idea is to make the scores a bit closer. We tested it on old series and it did just that. No massive changes in positions, just bringing the field a bit closer to each other and hopefully making for more excitement.
The weightings are:
- between -2 and +2 finishing position relative to your average to date: no adjustment; multiplier 1
- 3 or 4 up or down: 1.2 x and 0.8 x adjustment, respectively.
- -4 or more: 0.6 x
- +4 or more: 1.4 x
For example my average after week 1 was 3. My finishes tonight were 3rd (0 delta, so multiplier 1) and 5th (2 delta, so multiplier 1). Zolon average was 2.5 so for race 1 his 6th position was -3.5, hence multiplier 0.8, so instead of the usual 11, he got 11 * 0.8 = 8.8. His second race finish of 2 gave delta 0.5, hence multiplier 1.
