The Muse ThreadMusic

Prince called. He wants his 1989 song back.

This sucks even more than Psycho. This album is going to be a laugh

Indeed, on first listen these new songs are not lighting my ears on fire, however, there is nary a Muse song that I don't eventually come to love after listening to it enough times. We'll see.

Here's a little blast from the (recent) past. Some of you might know this one, some won't.
My question is, which do you prefer, this one or the original Assassin? I think I prefer this one to be honest.

Given that Assassin is one of my favorite Muse songs of all time, I have to say I dislike it. It isn't terrible, though.

On a separate note, I was humming Dead Inside for most of the day today, so I think I've changed my mind about it.

Well, we see that it represents the song well based on the cover shot of the video. Creepy.

I think it's blends well with the story that the album is going to tell, but I am getting a Killers vibe to Mercy but it's not anything to complain about. It's a good track and I can see it getting a good amount of airplay on stations like SXM's Alt Nation but not as much as Dead Inside

100% agreed.

Totally.

That last one is meh at best. Still not pumped by a single song in this album. Sad.
I can see from that from an individual songs standpoint, but I think that as a whole this album is going to be the best and the whole purpose of a concept album is to tell a story and so far it is. My only wish is that they release a single from the second half of the album, where good overcomes evil.

I have also been listening to Absolution a lot recently, that whole album is well done I think the best song not to be a single is off that album: The Small Print. But also I wish I could buy a copy of Dead Star without paying $25 bucks on Amazon

I think Reapers is the song that defines the sound Muse is striving for with Drones and it works! It's a throwback of sorts to the heavy riffs of the first three albums but it's also has a bit of that electronic distortion as in the last 3 albums and its better than what I was expecting listening to some of the live versions. Also Mercy has grown a lot on me every time I listen to it I find a new reason to like it wether it is musically or lyrically

Why is it that everything you say about muse is exactly what I think?

I have picked up a physical copy of the Dead Inside/Psycho single and was surprised by seeing a actual single not an iTunes single

So, after listening to the entire album, I can't say I like it. It's bit uncohesive and doesn't really flow well. It's not nearly as bad as the last piece of trash they released, but that's not a big merit lol. I'm giving it a second whirl and will be going trough it over the week, but so far it's on "bad" on the Cano scale. We'll see if that changes with time.

So far, everything has been bad on your scale. Thank you for essentially informing me that the album will be amazing. :)
