I live in brazil and i'm very anxious to get one of this brake springs. The question is, did you guys sent this package to brazil??

Why is it that if I order from SigmaTimeattack total is $34 (including $5 shipping) BUT if we order from GTEye it's only $29.95 with free shipping?

I know it's only $5 but what's the difference in shipping times?

Probably nothing, other than the fact that you are ordering it from a company that will charge you shipping.

Got my GT-Eye one week after placing my order - that's quite alright.

The installation was pretty straight forward, and the provided guide by GTEYE a good reference. I'd nevertheless suggest two Allen keys (or an appropriate Torx bit), as this makes the fastening of the screws which hold together the spring casings much more convenient. I would not recommend the route ISR went down as this is much more of a hassle.

Now, does it work and is it worth the money?

I'd say yes to both. It won't turn the G25 brake pedal into the "real" thing, but I appreciate the stiffer (and progressive) resistance and the spring itself looks pretty durable. I never had any trouble braking, but in my opinion it makes the G25 pedals feel less toy like.

Concerning the price - probably you can source a similar spring in a specialist hardware store for less, but it's a pretty decent product, and shipping and packaging were professional and it saves a lot of trial and error.

Best thing however is that I have now an improved brake pedal and could swap the remaining springs round. The original brake spring now is the new clutch spring, and the clutch spring now has become my gas spring. The latter might be a bit on the stiff side for some (I play in socks and have my G25 mounted to a wheelstand), but finally I have a much better control in the 60% to 100% range when powering out of a corner.

It will take some getting used to to the altered stiffness of all three pedals, but my first impressions are really good. Especially if you think the gas pedal is lacking feel and swap all three springs.

Glad it worked out for you! With a little seat time you should get right up to speed.

Over time I have learned to closely scrutinize their reviews/recommendations/tech tips.
They mean well, and provide needed coverage and reviews of sim-related products...
...but sometimes things do appear to slip between the cracks.

I like the mod already, but after years of being used to the original springs it's natural it will take some time getting used to the new threshold points.

The guys at ISR are very like-able, but not undoing the screws which hold the casings to the pedals is just - not the easy way ;)

But they are right: the brake pedal takes considerable more pressure to go to full braking, but not so much I feel it gets uncomfortable or I would really need to hard-mount the pedals - I got a very thin carpet with anti-slip material (Ikea doormat for 0.99 cent to be precise) underneath and it still works perfectly.

I'll leave some further thoughts how it works out going from ABS 1 to 0 in due time.

I placed an order on Wednesday, I think (wife handled it). I've been avoiding using my wheel until it comes, in hopes of getting rid of some muscle memory with the brake.

Hopefully coming this week :).

Ordered mine late on Thursday and received it today. Only took about 15 minutes to change all the springs around. Haven't had a chance to claim the lounge room and try then out yet.

Hey from Australia!
Just bought mine.
Was playing up, it's $30 for a piece of metal, and I'm certainly getting the butt-end of shipping since anywhere in the world gets the same shipping price as my 500km away from Melbourne.

I was considering doing nested springs as it would be about half the price, but there are two considerations:
1) What if the nested springs got caught in each other?
2) What if the nested springs required excessive pressure, thus breaking immersion?
After weighing those two questions against the extra $15, I gave up and just paid for the gteye.

Review coming when I get around to installing it!

Can I install the spring without removing the black plastic base cover? Reason is I have everything mounted, including the cable and would rather not have to redo all of it.

Got my spring today. As I was installing it and pushing down with my hand I said no way this spring is way to stiff. Finished the installation and gave it a spin. First impression is simply amazing. I honestly didn't think I needed it as I felt like the stock equipment was enough. Needless to say, I started shaving seconds off my time in about an hours worth of playing. I did the new M4 seasonal event and finished rank 3XXX something from 40k. I really need to build a rig as the spring is so strong it moves sometimes on my carpet. I am extremely happy and can say this is the best $30 I have ever spent.

I have to wait 4 extra days for the guy in France to return and ship mine. I would've thought twice if this had been stated before I ordered.

Mine arrived.

I think I should be playing with shoes, given how stiff the every-spring-swap has made the gas.
The gas is unrealistically stiff, but I would think it's a sensible substitute for the longer travel you find on a real car. The sheer amount of tension you need to apply to go full-bore, makes it much easier to feather the gas down to only 70-90%, which keeps the car stable and understeery on the Nordschleife.
The clutch has been made too stiff considering GT6's ridiculously far engagement point, but the resistance through to a real car's engagement point feels right on. If only we could adjust the engagement point in GT6...
As for the brake itself... It's absolutely beautiful given GT6's weird-ass spin-you-out-at-50%-brake. I can more-consistently apply that 49%-no-spin-out zone, I can dab the brakes and not lose huge amounts of speed, I can jam the brakes in for cadence braking, and I can smoothly transition to that 5% for the trail braking... not bad for a $30 ounce of metal.

It took me a while to get used to it, but... I think the results speak for themselves. (Paddle shifters here)
650PP Zonda R to the Nordschleife!
Best DS3 time: 6'53"xxx
Best wheel time (before GTEYE): 7'0x"xxx
First successful lap after GTEYE: 6'40"xxx

Although the brake spring is wonderful, I actually credit most of the improvement to having a stiffer gas spring.
...Or SRF. I had SRF on in the seasonal before hand, can't remember if it turned itself off for the Nordschleife. If so, then I just invalidated my test. Will update tomorrow.

Edit: While I did have SRF on, I ran 6'47" with two crashes without SRF, meaning I could hit 6'40" without SRF anyway.

No? I managed to do it without removing the base.
Hi Dansk, I`m sure I am not alone in wanting to know more about how you replace the spring without access underneath the cover.

Do you have any pictures or a short video to enlighten us further?

I tried to explain it in post #77. If I get some free time this weekend I will try to take some pictures or video.

If you please, @Dansk. Placed an order for a G27 (DFP broke not so long ago warranting an unplanned upgrade) yesterday, adapter kit for the WSP V2 day before that in order to be able to mount it kit and kaboodle, and will be ordering a GTEYE sometime today. Will be super helpful to be able to mod without removing pedals from the stand, which in all likelihood will be just so before the GTEYE pops in the mailbox by all estimates.

Had my GTEYE spring for about 2 weeks now and came back here to say thanks. I also swapped the clutch & accel springs along and had seconds coming off my times within a half dozen laps. It certainly breathed some life back into the G27 setup!

Got the spring and it was an easy swap. The spring itself is waaaay better than stock. Should have come this way from Logitech. The problem I'm having is more of a muscle memory issue. After over 2 years with the old spring I pretty much have to re-learn how to brake all over again. The change is that drastic. For those that have just purchased a G27 I would recommend swapping the spring sooner rather than later. Definitely will take some getting used to but I don't regret buying it.

Oh yeah, I should note that install literally took about 20 minutes. I removed ALL screws on the back, probably not necessary but I think it made it easier.

Changing Spring Without Removing Base (gas pedal shown, but same procedure for all pedals.

Step 1: Remove screws holding top section of spring cover in place.
Step 2: Pull up on the top section of the spring cover.
Step 3: Remove Spring and replace into lower spring cover.
Step 4: Install top spring cover make sure that that upper spring cover slides over the lower spring cover. Use the allen wrench or screw driver to push down on the top of the lower spring cover. Image 231 shows the the upper spring cover in the wrong position prior to being place down by the allen wrench in to the right position, as per image 233.
Step 5: Push down on the top spring cover. The spring will seat itself.
Step 6: Align the top spring cover section holes and reinstall screws.
That should have taken you about five minutes. Repeat for all pedals.
