I've been using the GTEye spring for a while now and really like the feel and increase resistance. However, I really do not like the feel of the gas pedal with the old brake spring. Maybe I'm just a wimp, but it takes a lot more effort to depress the pedal than I want. I have to readjust my foot as well. So, I've just gone back to the stock spring. Anyone else have this feeling?

On the advice of @Rallywagon I didn't bother swapping the stock brake spring with the gas pedal spring. The most improvement I've found for throttle control is changing the angle my foot hit's the pedal.

I don't swap out any springs, just install the GTEye. Other like to put the stock brake spring in the clutch and the clutch spring in the throttle (never heard the brake spring in the throttle), but I like the stock configuration with the GTEye.

I left the throttle stock for this reason and its working well for me.

I have the Nixim V2 brake & clutch mod, & am very happy with it. Is the GTEye any better, is it stiffer than the Nixim brake mod?

Word, I found the same issue KTM. I pulled it out and put the stock spring back in the accelerator pedal unit. The old brake spring really help with the clutch though.
@VBR no, it's not so different. Just no rubber piece. The people I know who have tried both said that there wasn't too much differences just a few nuances. Slight pressure difference and slight difference in where they begin to hit the second "progression" if you will

I've seen the angle adjusted in several pics of peoples rigs and it's certainly something I am going to experiment with when I can get a more semi-permanent location for my rig. Adding material to the stock G27 base will just make it more of a hassle when I have to move it on a daily basis.

I don't necessarily mean changing the angle of the pedal set but rather the angle at which your legs and feet hit the pedals.

Instead of something like this,

Rather, try to get your seat and leg angle to something as closer to the below diagram, or as flat as you can,

The flatter, or straighter your legs are as they hit the pedal set, the easier it will be on the muscles to control the pressure you put on the pedals.

You'll have to pardon the stick figures.

Thanks. I think I'll stick to what I've got. GTEye is still an interesting alternative though.

Was luckily able to get the spring in from the top w/o a tool, it just slid in w/ a slight push. Challenge now is because of the stiffness, it seems more apt to mount it.... and like @Dragonwhisky said, raise it at an angle.

I find it a bit too stiff at the beginning of the travel. Compared it to our cars brakes. Or do race cars really have stiffer brakes? Wish it were bit softer at the beginning, all though the progression and the end stiffness are great, and much better in preventing lock ups.

For AC users, do you have brake gamma set higher than 1.0?

on my g27 im using the clutch spring inside my gas pedal, then i put the gas spring in my clutch. i added a rubber washer inside the brake pedal and made the brake and clutch pedal air tight to add more resistance when pressing the pedals down... i've been using this setup for awhile and i love it.. the further you press the brake pedal the stiffer it gets. at 100% its stiff but its not a strain to do. also helps with over braking, especially in those "OH ****!" moments... i'm sure you guys know what i mean..lol

Cool idea with the washer, could you give us the size and type of washer please? Look forward to your reply, cheers mate, AussieStig

What's the deal with the clicking feeling or noise I hear in the reviews everywhere? Has that even sorted out or is there a "fix" to prevent that? @GTEYE

I've installed about a dozen of the GTEye springs and have never heard a clicking...

Some reviews including the YouTube one by insidesimracing, also some have mentioned it in the older thread that was locked, would like to know for sure before I order as i know a click would annoy my experience

One thing we know for sure is that any click noise does not originate from the spring itself. Most likely its attributed to the creaking of the pedal assembly or casing itself. Just make sure all the screws are tight and everything is located properly. If you are one of the lucky ones that is able to install the spring without opening the casing, that may help to avoid disrupting the mating bond of some components.

As some other members have confirmed, its not a common issue, and for the few that have mentioned it, it`s very minor, and hardly noticeable.

How do you install the spring without opening the casing?

See the previous post by @Dansk within this thread, explaining how to change springs without removing the cover.

It appears only some pedal sets allow you to do this, whereas others do not, mine included.

General pattern seems to be that many US/Canada pedals can be modded in this way, whereas most other locations need to open the case the traditional way as per our instructions.

Great customer service, appreciate your time and effort, you just made yourself a(nother) sale

FYI, got my G27 (in the newer black box) here in Asia and I installed the spring from the top. Actually I didn't even need a tool to push down on the lower housing, just simply pushed down on the top housing over the lower housing. Aligning the holes when returning the screws was more challenging.

Well I wanted to place a order for this brake spring because I was told just how great it is but unfortunateky they do not seem to ship to my location in Florida. Man that sucks

Hi K1utch, We ship anywhere, all over the world.

If you are having any trouble placing an order, please let me know.

Hello sir I recently placed an order for your brake spring. and after I was finished placing my order and location. a black box with words stated order it said that it does not ship to my location. I was really looking forward to this product

Hey Kristian,

Ordered the GTEye on 4/4 and received it today, 4/11...super fast shipping from Australia to the States. The only hiccup I had with the ordering process was I had to us my ex-wife's business account (Novelty Hut) because my bank blocks all Australian banking transactions, which I thought was strange. Anyway, got the spring and had it installed in about 10 min., very straightforward and easy install. Since I had already tried the spring on my daughter's rig, I knew what to expect, which is why I ordered it. It will take a bit to get fully used to, but I can already tell that its going to help with my lap times.

Great product and very fast shipping...I'll give you a 10 out of 10.

I got mine in the mail today and i ordered it tuesday. So thats only 4 days to the Netherlands !

I am going to install it right now i only got one question. Do i need to recalibrate the wheel and pedals after installation because of differences in travel length or not ?

Btw i will be using it on ps3 with GT6

installed and tested and it feels great ! didnt had to recalibrate after all.

Its allot stiffer but its not to stiff. I got my g27 mounted on a wheelstand and that works without any problems. It instantly gives you a better feeling of the brakes. It was really easy to install, had to take the top of though. I left the gas and clutch pedal as they were as they are fine to me.

Would recommend it to anyone, especially considered it costs only 21 euro's. So yeah im a happy costumer, thanks GTEYE.
