What they should do is offer two engine options like how the Mazda 3 does with the choice of a 2.0L or 2.5L, but for the Miata, give it a choice between the 1.5L or the 2.0L. Can sure reduce base price.-> Mazda should offer a 'Budget' models on both engines for Jalopnik & SCCA fans:

Most of the LSD's in the NA's and NB's are Torsen, and they seem to work just fine. And are quite expensive to purchase, even used.Aaaaaaand you just lost a buyer.
What are we doing, drag racing? A track car should have nothing other than a 2-way clutch LSD, ever. You simply can't control the car via throttle with a Torsen which means they're basically useless.
Yup, Torsens can cost up to $1,000+ tops. Most of the LSD's in the NA's and NB's are Torsen, and they seem to work just fine. And are quite expensive to purchase, even used.

Hopefully, the ND will be a car with many different special editions to come.
