Damn you! :) 550+ hours played! Do you even have a work? :ill:
Well, I don't have that much time to play it so I'll just stick with my wheelie record. :D I'll give that a try and beat VC record book's record (52,xxx meters) I'll also do a little update soon. When I've reached 130+hours (:
You must remember something Cosmic, I loveloveLOVE to play SA. I don`t put in those long hours for my health; playing is actually somewhat detrimental to my health. :guilty:

I don`t currently "have a work" :P, but if I did, it wouldn`t matter much. I`d still be spending my free time playing SA, simply because I prefer that over chasing, kicking, or otherwise knocking balls all over a field. I do have interests outdoors, but it`s November 👎 & too cold to go outside, I`m freezing my bag off right now typing this! :ouch: Your wheelie record is safe from me, I`ll stick to killing. :D

Im currently looking for a nice daughter around my age :sly: though in the location of Mackay Australia :dopey:

You mean you aren't the only one living in Mackay? You lie!

I think American Football is fun to watch. Big guys running at other big guys, what could go wrong?

I've just started playing again, I chop and change a lot but lately I've just been finishing off the gang territory and trying to get 6 stars. I always get 5 and then get gunned down. :grumpy:

It`s hard for me to picture anyone outside the U.S. liking anything about American football. If you enjoy watching it, that`s cool. 👍 What`s really strange is that you can actually watch it in Austrailia :odd:.

As your wanted level increases, try to get ahold of a motorcycle. Even with tanks & crap after you, you can easily get away to cover, as long as you don`t fly around at high speed like a maniac. Watch out for road blocks. If you get too close, the armed law enforcement dudes will shoot out your tires :ouch:. Just commandeer a tank if that happens! :)👍

They don't show too much, just like the Superbowl and whatnot. Only the big games.

The problem is getting the army after me. I get destroyed before I get a chance. I tried to bomb the army base then dodge the plains this morning. Not very sucessful, I got blown out of the sky quite quickly. I can never destroy their plains, I can't get around them.

OK, the Superbowl makes sense. I think they even show that thing on other planets!

I`m still curious, are you bombing the base with the Hydra or the Hunter? I haven`t tried dogfights with other Hydras yet (other than that mission where you have to). I`ve been trying for a while to shoot down a Hydra using the Hunter, but haven`t been successful :grumpy:. Hydras are way too freakin` fast, and I can`t get position on them. Of course, Hydras have shot me down while in the Hunter 👎 :grumpy:.

🤬!! I`ve been spelling "Australia" wrong! :dunce: I`m assuming you and Small_Fryz wouldn`t spell the name of your own country incorrectly! I always thought it was "Austrailia" :boggled:.

I can't think of a method to shoot down a Hydra with the Hunter and survive. To be honest I can't even think of a kamikaze way of doing it, it'd be dumb luck if you did. It's easy with another Hydra, or maybe a Rustler, although the latter takes much, much longer.

However it's good to know someone else out there has 550+ hours of SA. :) Is that in the save file that you started with? I'm at 566 in my second oldest file (I had to delete the very first 'cause of the cheats) I've only spent about 35% of that time tearing it up though, so my criminal rating is still well under 500,000. I mostly like to cruise around, maybe hear the goofy stuff peds, paramedics or cops have to say.

must be nice to not "have to work"--

I'm not a huge football fan but either betting on games or playing fantasy football makes it alot more interesting to me-- I joined a fantasy league 4-5 years and it piqued my interest in the game-- I don't care for the superbowl-- gets overhyped, too many commercials-- usually a blow out and kind of boring that its played at a neutral site in warm weather... the playoffs are alot more interesting to me.

I'm having an ok year in fantasy football despite the fact that 3 of my top 4 picks on my team are done-- (Terrel Owens, Priest Holmes, Darrel Jackson--may come back but I dropped him)-- my other top 4 pick was just a bad pick (Julius Jones)-- who didn't pan out... Despite this, I'm in 4th place and should make the playoffs (I picked up some good players)--

I'm only in a free league this year.... in previous years I was in a money league-- $40 to enter + $2.50 to add and $2.50 to drop players... the pot goes up to about $1300 to $1400 each year... the winner gets 3/5, the runner up gets 1/5, the points leader for the year gets 1/5-- this makes it pretty interesting.... :nervous: :scared:

I wish it was a case of not having to work (doesn`t everybody). I`m unemployed because of poor health. There is light at the end of tunnel; I`ll eventually be able to work again (you have to be employable first), it`s just a matter of time (and surgery).
Be that as it may, I`ll continue playing GTA regardless of my employment status.

I`m not really a big sports fan either Spuds, but I like to keep up on the Reds & Bengals. My life doesn`t hinge on whether they win or lose, though. Do you have favorite teams?

I`ve got several PS2 save files, but none have anything near 550 hours of gameplay on them, although they may surpass 550 combined. But on Xbox, the save I play on to rack up killing records is the original save I started after buying SA for Xbox. 👍
It`s also good to know that someone else loves SA as much as I do! :sly:

I thought maybe you were wealthy.....

Heres to your improving health  Hope you get better soon.

Where do you live by chance?? You keep mentioning Cincinnati. I lived there for 4 years (while going to UC)_. My wife's family lives near Lebanon.... I'll be heading down there this weekend-- I live a few hours north now.

I don't have a favorite team- still a Bearcat fan for NCAA basketball and thats it... I grew up in California about 25 minutes from Anaheim-- I liked the Angels, still like the Lakers-- and I was a Raider fan while they were in LA...

I like the Bengals but I still hate Mike Brown-- Worst GM ever. Has no business running that team-- he is not his father.

Regarding UC--- Bob Huggins elevates the program and the conference to an elite status, and gets canned the year they enter the Big east conference--- its going to be a great basketball conference-- Cincy, Louisville, Pitt, UCONN, Syracuse, etc......

That’s not good news to hear. :guilty: As Spuds said, I hope you return to good health soon. 👍

Meanwhile, I got my first car a few days ago. :)

And it's a Charade! hah! So Blake, when are you going to hairdressers school?

Thanks Spuds & Blake, I appreciate that :)👍.
Spuds, if you`re from California, why oh why do you subject yourself to Ohio winters?!
Winter SSSUCKS (in Ohio)!! :yuck: :grumpy:
I`m from Utica, OH. It`s a small town (village?) located roughly 35 miles east and slightly north of Columbus. Most people around here who like baseball are Reds fans, whereas most football fans like the Browns 👎:yuck:. I`d like to say that the Cleveland Browns suck a$$, just for the record :D. Oh, and I`ve always liked the Los Angeles/California/Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim( :boggled: ) Angels. It`s cool that they won the WS in `02 👍. Not a Raiders fan though...
Mike Brown in no way, shape, or form is his father. At least the Bengals are competitive again, and we haven`t had to see Brown`s ugly mug plastered across the tv lately 👍. I`ve been to Cincinnati umpteen times over the years, most recently to see a Reds game in `94 (before the ****ing strike of course). I LOVE the overall "feel" of that town .

I think the Browns is probably the most uninventive name ever given to a sports team (most inventive goes to the Macon Whoopie :P).
Hocky's the only sport without tires I pay any attention to. Although I did make a lot of virtual cash on last year's superbowl.

Hope your obsessive GTAing isn't slowing your comeback, gramps. Good luck with the recovery.

I appreciate that, Emohawk. 👍 GTA isn`t slowing my "comeback" ( ), it`s one of the few little pleasures that makes day-to-day life worth living. 👍
A Canadian that likes hockey? Who`s ever heard of such a thing? ;)

I agree that the name "Browns" is unoriginal. Paul Brown named the team after himself! I`m glad he founded the Browns first, otherwise it`d be the "Cincinnati Browns". :yuck:

I was just doing that!

I find that taking a motorcycle to a carpark with a minigun it one of the funnest things to do in the game. Sometimes, however, a tank will spawn inside and you and up getting attacked form behind. :indiff:

---quote from re-released thread...

GrandpaLonghair
A liberal will often change his/her mind on a whim, depending on which way the wind is blowing. .

Thats another generalization-- not necessarily true of all or even most liberals (I don't know them all)--once again you have to differentiate between the politicians and the people-- you paint the democrats with one brush-- can't do it at this time-- there too many splinter groups and the reason they are out of power-- have alienated more then 50% of the voting electorate.

If I had to describe myself it would be one of Civil Libertarian... a conservative would consider me liberal, a liberal would likely consider me conservative-- but I believe in a smaller, less intrusive, fiscally responsible federal govt-- the republicans used to be the party of this but can't bring themselves to eliminate the beuracracy and have mostly grown it... a pretty powerless majority IMO...

that being said--

My prediction for 2008....

John McCain will win the presidential nomination and the presidency... he is more to the center and more palatable to the left --- no democrats that are known can move to the right enough to be elected-- the electorate mostly supports candidates that at least appear to be in the center (Reagan Democrats come to mind and Clinton at least could appear to be more to the center then he actually was.) The congress will move farther to the right and strengthen their majority in the congress.

I believe that McCain (who was no friend of Bush until the summer of 04) made a deal with the "Powers" to support Bush in 04 in exchange for their support in 08.... the Bush campaign "screwed him" in 00-- http://www.boston.com/news/politics/president/articles/2004/03/21/the_anatomy_of_a_smear_campaign/ this has Karl Rove written all over it... a great political strategist....

I actually like McCain... and believe he is more palatable to the left then anyone else out there....

I agree that beuracracy is unfortunately "out of control" with the Bush regime. You know what really sucks about politics imo? The politicians!
I agree that McCain is more palatable to the left. To me, he`s about as palatable as Kerry, Clinton, or Algore ( :sly: ). I don`t think it`ll ever be possible to elect a president that is conservative enough to please me :guilty:. I`m a (right) "wing nut"!

GrandpaLonghair
. I don`t think it`ll ever be possible to elect a president that is conservative enough to please me

thats scary :scared:

You made it clear in the other thread that you don't wish to discuss politics so I won't try to push any of your buttons-- but will end this on a joke....

George W. Bush is so stubborn, if he were the captain of the Titanic, he would steer the ship into a 2nd iceberg to prove he hit the first one on purpose. :dopey:

Hey Grandpa (or anyone else that might be interested)--

If you want a good historical type read and are somewhat interested in the parallels between the current political discourse and historical political discourse, I urge you to read "the North and the South" by John Jakes-- I read this recently and found the politics of the period quite familiar-- its a pretty good story too... John Jakes did alot of research on the book-- its mostly fictitious but there were alot of historical figures from the period that are in the book and he did take alot of the info out of newspapers of the period....

Its a 3 book series--

"the North and the south"-- leads up to the US civil war.
"Love and war"-- events during the civil war
"Heaven and Hell"-- events after the civil war

I read these in order the last month or two... pretty good.

There was a miniseries in the 80s based on the first 2 books but it wasn't nearly as detailed and there were several characters missing... and some of the events didn't play out the same way...

I have varied reading taste-- another story I found interesting-- "starship troopers"-- its quite a bit differnt from the movie of the same name.....

and of course I'm a huge Tom Clancy (Jack Ryan series) fan....

Spuds...

I finally worked out a decent method to get 6 stars. I just go into that little tunnel sort of thing in the Come-a-lot Casino parking lot where the armour is and mini-gun anything that moves until I get the stars, then hightail it out of there on my NRG. The only annoying thing is sometimes the cops sneak up behind me and start shooting me from inside the thing but I was playing at my friends house the other day and not a single copper could get in. For some odd reason I haven't come across any helicopters whilst doing it there though.

Clear and Present Danger was the best, IMO.

Although Rainbow Six certainly tickled my fancy. *draw*

Anywho, has anyone come up with an effective and not-boring killing method in San Andreas yet?

You can read the "SA killing thread", there are some ideas in there. I posted some of my favorite killing areas & techniques, but they may be boring to you. There may be more effective and more efficient ways of killing, but they work for me. 👍 I need to thank you for the "car park" suggestion. I went to LV to that huge Emerald Isle one, and discovered it works well as a new place for cover. I can now officially rampage in LV and get something accomplished!👍

Cosmic
and went exactly to that place the picture shows.
Help, please :indiff:

evidently not...

check again--- make absolutely sure you are in the correct spot for each of them (make your screen look like the pics)--- I've not heard of any "missing _____" glitches in SA.

Could you have possibly re-loaded after marking one off??? At least the jetpack makes searching for them easy.

I seem to remember a few in the northern part of the strip being hard to locate (even with pics)-- but its been almost a year so I might be remembering wrong...

AAAARGH! This is ****ing fustrating. I can't find the last bloody horseshoe!
I use this map : http://www.gta-sanandreas.com/guides/horseshoesmap/map.htm
I've clicked on every number and went exactly to that place the picture shows.
Help, please :indiff:

Ah. I used that map to get my horseshoes. I noticed that there were a few that werent exactly where they show on the map but they are close by...
I remember it was no.2 and a few others.
