You beat me in the race any way.

I hope I raced clean LOL Not had anyone off the track but have rubed a few accidently when theyve jumped on the brakes early. Hairiest ones are comeing up the hill at spa at full chat only to be greated by a couple of guys with penalties for running wide trundeling back onto the racing line LOL like threading the car through the eye of a nedle at 120mph with a slight touch of oversteer....had to do that a few times and luckily got away with it but I think it was a wake up call for some guys to keep off the raceing line until there speeds back up

I think whats happening is the host is being given a max number of people in the race (they can't see this of course) then you fill your loby up and start....it then becomes a case of the guys with the best conections stay the rest get kicked, I'm running 10 meg and I never got booted from other peoples lobys but when I hosted I would see all the guys in my loby disapear when the race started! so whos got the T1 conection? I want to race with 16 again LOL This wasn't happening earlier today but as the days gone on it's got worse. I really think it'sa lack of servers........not supriseing as no ones been able to play it then wham, everyones on LOL

I am running 20 meg and have not had a disconnect yet.

Right Quick experiment, host a game or enter a game and see if theres more than 5 people stay in that race for it's entirety.........I've not been booted from a game personaly but I've not raced against more than 4 nor have I hosted a game with more than 4 since about 7pm GMT with a 10meg conection If you've had more than 5 let me know I'll join....not having a dig as the patch works flawlessly, it's just the servers seemed overwhelmed, think Mr Cale under estimate how many of us wanted to play online and purchased a little less bandwith than nesercary LOL

Hi,

Overall it seems that the patch has solved the majority of problems. From reading the forums, I understand that there are still some issues for a few users and we'll investigate these as soon as possible.

If you are experiencing particular issues then please email ferrarichallenge@eutechnyx.com with a much information as possible including hardware configuration i.e. router, modem type and ISP / connection specification and we will investigate.

With regards to Server Load, this is handled directly by Sony and PSN. We will work directly with them to see if there is a potential bandwidth issue.

Once again, thanks for your patience and hopefully you can now enjoy Ferrari Challenge to the full.

The improvement of the patch is great. I really like the changes. They have a positive effect on the game ;)

My only comment was about the onlinepart

I have a 6MB down and 1MB up dsl connection. With GT5P I host quite often and never experience any problems.

With FC I have and thats strange. I think I have to agree with hereward on this one. Probably bandwith issues due to the overload of online players ;)

I never saw the lobbies so full as yesterday, which is a positive thing :)

Great patch!
also really like the option in racing line: "brake points only" :D

any words on when DLC arrives?

Great online racing game here...there's absolutely no lag at all and the races are very packed and exciting. And, the best part of all is that there are no rammers at all. Great.

hehe finally I had 3 online races which were actually great. Graphic quality of the opponent cars is quite low. There is a difference between the graphical carquality online and offline! Track quality I didn't notice..

I only s.u.c.k. at the F430, I don't like the handling of that car. I rather drive the F355 Challenge which makes me smile everytime I drive it ;)

I'm kinda liking this patch, but not totally.
I won't speak about online, i'm not an online gamer and there are enough reports about those. (I'm just your little casual gamer I guess...)

It's nice to see the AI difficulty, the top time and all of that. Kudos to you guys for that.
Still, my problems with the stiffness of the wheel haven't complety been eliminated.
When the race starts, the wheels still janks from left to right for a second... :nervous:

There is a change though, one running in a straight you really notice FF is off, cause you can turn the wheel a little without feeling anything.

I have a suggestion... start from nothing (FF off) and build up the response from there. It feels like it's been done just the other way around. Or play GT5:P a bit and get the feeling. (No shame in trying some competition.)

But enough nagging on my part, thanks for the update and I hope you will continue all the good work! (even if it is in small portions!) 👍

Was I ranting yesterday LOL Patch has fixed the issues that were cripiling online which for me was making the game seem incomplete. The online racing is now working a charm with lag free games and some really good clean close races on some fantastic tracks with great cars.........it just seems that as more and more people came online the less people I could race against in a sngle race. This I think was down to a server bandwith problem and not a software issue with the patch. I'm not a software engineer so I don't know to be honest it just seemed logical from what I experienced. It was made worse because I got to see the game running at fiull strengh and then had it taken away again LOL
8 players in a race would be great but 4 just left the race feeling sparce

I just niped on and yep there were still just 3-4 players actualy racing on track, I did spot one with 8 and one with 7....Yipee I thought, so I trundled into the 7 player one to take up 8th spot.........erm nope 3 players in game the rest waiting in the loby, I hung around for them to finish and then as the next race started I "Lost conection with server" I loked in the loby and it looked like the race had started with just 4 people in it.

Now I really hope it's a simple server fix or maybe a port needs opening on peoples routers? But FC is about to have it's first DLC release and more importantly at the end of the month it goes on sale in the states.......These problems will not be good for sales which is a real shame as this is the best racer on the PS3 (sorry GT5p) but it's frustrateing to say the least that the online aspect is problomatic. Most of us have been in big races on FC yesterday and commented on how good it was, its like giving a child a huge bag of sweets and as they pop the first one in there mouth yanking the bag back off them! I WANT MY BAG OF SWEETS BACK GUYS LOL!

Hello to all.

That is my impression of the patches that at least in part is very positive.

The G25 has a dead zone, very annoying for a racing games.

The Return of force nn is adjustable and is either too strong or too soft. I expected a full menu setting for the G25. I am disappointed by the superficiality of the developers regarding the setting of G25.

Online limited to 4 to 5 players and often connect with the host fall.

For developers:

Truly beautiful the behaviour of IA in the race. Congratulations on your excellent work.

It would be good to enable and disable the names of players online simply by pressing a button to G25.

Online, in search of the rooms do not see that car is used in their rooms.

Online, in the room would welcome an icon audio and button to exclude audio side.

Online: private rooms for friends.

Online, Host, decide whether controls ABS, TC. etc. ON or OFF for the entire room.

Online: indication state of the game. For races 20/30 minutes, entering the room do not know the end.

Congratulations for the model guide.

We hope that the next patch arrivals very soon and adjust everything.

Regards

my resolution is 1080p

me too. after the patch It seems that current graphics have a bit anti-aliasing issue and there are less flying objects like birds or leafs. I dont know maybe I'm wrong but if patch is improving fps what does it sacrifice?

btw what about leaderboards section?

"Online, Host, decide whether controls ABS, TC. etc. ON or OFF for the entire room."

this is a biggie for me , as I like to drive without any assists, so therefore myself and others who race without assists should be able to set our own lobby up this way.

another thing ...............

If you join a game and the host has that green line thing on , why must I have to see it ?
It puts me right off :ouch::grumpy:

Sequential shifter of G25 is still working inversed LOL :scared:

No qualify session in online races :indiff:

Don't show the fastes lap of other racers :guilty:

This game needs more options in online mode. In fact... the main core of the game must be online mode... Playing offline is boring :yuck:

The patch apparently fixed the online problems, but the gaming is still "just for kicks".

I can't conceive a serious racing game with no qualifying or wear or pits.

How can a race be serious when the starting order is random? Also, I think they have screwed it up with the distance between one car and the next at the starts.

If you manage 16 people in a race, it means the first is some 20-25 seconds ahead of the last, and that with grid that was decided in a totally random way.

Racing can be fun, but if you want to do something serious, the current options are not enough.

Hi,

After some investigation we have discovered that there are still some on line issues which cause the "Connection to the host" error when trying to access a lobby. This is down to the amount of vinyl information being transfered to each player and under certain conditions it can cause a time out and a disconnect. It can also affect players in a game.

We have fixed this issue but unfortunately it has required a code update and will therefore be released with Patch V2. Our current estimate is that it will be available around the end of August, early September.

Full details of Patch V2 will be made available over the next few days.

Sorry for any inconvenience and once again, thanks for your patience and continued support.

Ferraripro, thank you for your constant insight in community and work in order to perfect this great game. I sincerelly hope that Eutechnycs will find time and resources to push the game futher towards slight details and twaeks that players would like to see in order to make the game spot-on.

👍

I live in the U.S. and I am looking forward to its release.....currently slated for August 26, 2008. I have been reading many of the threads related to this game, and I surely hope that most of the minor irritations that some players mention have been addressed, and that the minor changes made by the first European patch have already been implemented in the U.S. version of the game.

It doesn't seem as if everybody is completely satisfied yet, but hopefully the developers will continue to expedite the fine tuning process in their attempts to perfect the game.

It's funny, it would seem that were all complaining about this game....not the case really. What's happening is this game is really excellent which makes the tiny problems (and they are minor) stand out more. Basicly FC is the best racing game on the PS3, and with a development team which have a commitment to DLC and further development of the game, were getting spoilt! Ferraripro regularly pops on the forum to update us on patches and game developments which seem to tie in with what the fans are asking for! It's a LONG wait for GT5 and this certainly eases the pain :)

At least we are lucky with this generation of consoles as bugs and faults can be put right via internet downloads.
In the old days you bought a game and if it had faults you were knackered.
I cant see much of a problem if you get a game developed by devs like Eutechnyx who are prepared to listen to gamers and do there best to help and improve there game.
There are lots of big developers out there who could not care less after you bought there buggy games.

There seems to be issues with the wheel options, 180 degree wheels seem too twitchy making the simple task of driving in a straight line more than problomatic and the 900 degree wheels seem to have a deadzone which is too large making turning in a little hit or miss.......I expect (hope) the devs get these issues sorted along with the online sync errors in the next patch due in a few weeks.....Make no mistake though this game should not be missed. After a 6 player race around Redwood in the rain over 20 mins driving the 512's last night I have to say it was the best race I've had on a console online....battled upto 2nd until I span out and finished eventualy in 4th, an adrenerlin rush from start to finish with cleaner racing than most real world F1 Races!

Owen
PR FC LOL

Sounds like a MAJOR problem in a DRIVING GAME to me!

Hmm well if you want to use your wheel and only your wheel then yes, although guys such as Amar and others have no problems with there wheel and FC.........subjective to your own personal taste and preferances, some cant use the wheel (like me) and others have no or very little issues with it. If you have doubts PM the guys who use the wheel or hold of purchase till it's patched. FC is not perfect and has lots of little problems but the things it dose right it dose better than anything else on the PS3

Hi,

It is not correct. The dead zone is not wheels, but the force feedback.
I set the steering wheel sensitivity to low (720 °). It has no dead zone to drive, but only dead zone feedback. At the centre the wheels is light !!!!!
If you use a wheels to 900 degrees and put a "high sensitivity" in this case there is a dead zone for driving.

I'm just going of what the G25 guys have been saying...I use the cheaper 180 degree wheel and it has NO deadzone on either the FFB or the steering on any of the sensitivity settings thus you get a twitching from left to right down the straights making it imposible to run in a straight line for me, so the G25 is ok apart from the low sensitivity setting?
