Only the host can change the title and if they aren't online when the judge sends the poll entries (after which the comp is closed) then the title will still say OPEN until such time as the host comes online and changes it.
Pays not to wait to the last second to submit an entry because you never really know when the comp will close due to differences in time zones.

Thanks First time "trying" to enter a comp. Actualy just started uploading photos yesterday.

Wasn't waiting, just decided to try and enter. I Should have read all the posts not just the first 6 pages

The deadline time is listed in every first-post of every week - it's a soft deadline, as it's the time the judge receives a PM informing them to pick their Top 25. People submitting after that time are never guaranteed consideration, since I can't control when exactly the judge will be looking at (and consequently closing) the week.

And like Nato pointed out, thread titles can only be changed by the starter. I may fiddle with the current schedule though to make things a bit more smooth-flowing...
