*sigh*

:banghead:

I seriously doubt, even without looking, that Isaiah 53:4-5 mentions the word "vaccinated" given that vaccination had not yet been invented. It would be a miracle.

Edit:

Aaaaaand it doesn't. It also doesn't mention immunity from disease, or preventing getting sick and dying. I wonder why...

My wife works in Utah County which has like the highest percentage of Mormons in the nation. She's seen more than once.

Just leave them their little lies they tell themselves for comfort. Religion helps them cope with life, how cruel are you to try to take that away from them? It brings them joy! Religion helps them cope with things like death... death from COVID... which their religion told them not to worry about...

What's funny is that the leaders of the LDS Chruch, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, came out and said that all members of the Church should get vaccinated so that they could back in-person services and continuing doing their missionary work. The Mormons of Utah County (now that's true-life crime show series if I've ever heard one) fired back and said that they weren't being real believers and not true Mormons.

This would be equivalent to someone saying the pope isn't a true Catholic.

"His Blood Protects From All!"

Yeah, except from one's stupidity, I guess. Or is that gullibility, instead?

Jesus's blood is wine, so I guess it'd just make you drunk?

Yep, I had the exact same thought. Didn't even bother checking.

It's more that evangelicals like to say "Catholics aren't Christians".

With the way Kinzinger is going, I won't be surprised if the GOP goes after him next once they're done with Cheney.
They have. Following his vote to impeach Trump after the GOP-supported terrorist attack on the Capitol, GOP representation in two Illinois counties censured him.

I disagree with Kinzinger on multiple fronts. That's fine. He doesn't represent me spiritually, but he also doesn't represent me functionally. Still, he seems...decent...and his role in the GOP is untenable because of that.

Well in geography class I learnt that one of the biggest threats to humanity is a pandemic. The increased movement of people around the world means that viruses can travel further and faster than they ever could in the past. It's a shame that governments didn't act earlier but I'm not surprised.

The rule of thumb for gerrymandering basically seems to be “let’s make one district with as many Black and Hispanic people as possible in one district and as many whites as possible in another”. Even though Miller v. Johnson outlawed race-based gerrymandering, it still seems to be happening de-facto.

A little Isaac Asimov for ya.

I have no idea who that guy in the video is, so I assumed he was "like father" Donald and I'd just missed a kid or two.

Turns out he's a Giuliani, though if I was Rudy I'd be wanting a DNA test to confirm that.
