Sums up the mainstream right’a opinion of Boinie Sandahs pretty well.

I used this website and essentially my annual disposable income will take a hit to the tune of one month's takehome pay under Sanders' tax plan. If that ends up being true, I'm not amused. I really don't want to go from making 12 months worth of a salary to making 11 months worth while still doing the same amount of work over the same amount of hours. I thought he was supposed to be out there helping the middle class, not making them pay more?
I'm guessing you just pay less than the average when it comes to healthcare? From the calculator it looks like the aim is to prevent people from having to deal with extremely large expenditures rather than lower the average by a significant amount. I'd say that's a good way to go about it even if I don't want to see Sander's plan put into action.

I'm guessing I do, I just grabbed my tax document from my insurance company and put in that number. Upon further investigation, it looks like the average is somewhere around $6,000 per year. I'm not sure if that includes things like what you pay through your employer for insurance or if it's just what you pay in terms of copays, over the counter meds, etc.

If I factor in my premiums I pay through my employer, I end up losing around half a month of pay instead of a whole month. Slightly better, but still enough to make me adamantly against Sanders' tax plan. I'm not rich by any means, but apparently I sit right in the tax bracket that leaves me screwed no matter what happens. Guess I need a pay cut.

The cost of a Coronavirus test is about $250, the $3,200 figure comes from showing up at the ED and having to pay for that expense. Within weeks I fully expect urgent cares, walk-in clinics, and general practitioners can run the test since it's similar to how people are tested for influenza.

Psssh... pesky facts. Don't let that something like that get in the way of your echo chamber.

I might go pick up a six pack tomorrow to see what's all the hubbub about. Can't imagine I'll get that sick of it.

It's a pretty basic pale lager, like a Löwenbräu. The bottle may as well have a white label with black letters that read "BEER". Corona Extra is a little better, I guess, because it has a little more flavor; they may just use less water when brewing it.

[Edit] It's apparently 4.5% ABV, so I guess it clears Utah.

Corona like all Mexican beer has a weird bite and aftertaste and is kept in a clear bottle so gets a little skunky. It's not worth the price IMO.

I have tried it one time beforehand , but at that time I was already several bottles into different sorts of alcohol, and there's a decent possibility I was high as a kite too, so I have no idea how it actually tastes.

We'll see. If I get sick I'll report back.

From my ah, research, I'd guess the standard of Dutch beer is too high for a naturalised citizen to enjoy Corona, but tastes are personal.

I mean some of you people won't drink Heineken and Amstel, proving you've never tried British Carling or Carlsberg. You lot are spoiled.

Spoiled? You've clearly never cracked open a can of Milwaukees Best or Genesee...

It seems that Corona is hot stuff, 2 supermarkets and a liquor store, and all sold out.

Back to the Dommelsch it is.

A state (or county) couldn't afford to build a new prison to reduce overcrowding in the public-funded one. So it contracted with a private firm to build a prison for them in exchange for a contract that said it would keep X% of the prison full. When the government couldn't fulfill that contract, it's no longer profitable for the private facility to keep operating. If it shuts down, that just means the government-funded facility will go back to be overcrowded. It's not a lack of supply and demand, it's a government not knowing how to manage its resources properly.

I believe something like 8% of prisoners are in private facilities and all those facilities have the same oversight as publicly funded prisons which is the Office of the Inspector General. It's not like we have a private prison problem in the US.
