Yes wheels in Forza effect performance and PI very very little but they do. Forza also lets you put 265 racing tires on stock 8 inch rims.. go figure. Then again none of the cars in Forza perform very true to life anyway some of which have drastic differences in performance from Forza 2 to Forza 3.

GT5 will be a great game. I can't wait to check it out first hand.

You can put 275 tires on old 8" cobra rims and they look and work just fine. Was there a point to that aspect of your comment?

I think he was just saying that in Forza motorsport, chaning tires changed performance. I think that was his only point.

Sorry I fudged the numbers. I was actually referring to the width of the tires. Like Forza 3 in some case would let you put a 265x40 or 30 even on a stock rim which may be 8 inches or in some cases may even be 7 inches. In any case we are talking about tires with a footprint of 12-16 inches going onto a rim no more than 8 inches. You would find that this is near impossible irl and if you were somehow able to squeeze the tire onto the rim it would wear out the certer of the tire very quickly while not giving you any performance increase over the 75 - 60 series tire that would fit propely on the rim in question.

I got some positives.

Looking through the threads, there are already many different leagues or online events that will take place (NASCAR, GT Academy, some wangan thing that I'll probably paritcipate in, WRC events, GTPlanet edited tracks and track days, etc. Surprised I didn't see a Super GT league...) The point is that this game will bring many of us fans who share common interests in racing together on the tracks one way or another and I can't wait. More than just racing random people online.

Unless of course, you don't have internet....:ouch:

That banned Diablo touring car..... it felt so dirty in GT3... can´t wait to fire that thing up all legal like.... that is positive.

Cockpit views, improved (finally) sounds,Skidmarks(finally),Awsome graphics and track creator and finally after a long development time i will finally have it on the 25th.(AU)

Wheels, standards and premiums......

First up wheels, In Forza wheel changes effected weight, thus performance, in GT they didn't and don't in GT5, it's just for that custom look. Dose it effect the game, no, if there were no wheel changes available at all would it even get mentioned, no. Can you see your own wheels when driving? no, You can see them in photo mode but thats an added feature (a good one) and one that has no direct bearing on the core of the game which is driving.

Premium V's Standard......the big thing here is the cockpit view.....personaly bumper cam gives the best view to race in, you can see the apex more clearly and can place the car more acuratly, but thats a personal thing. In previous GT games there was no cockpit view, and in Forza 2 there was no cockpit view whatso ever.....At the time other car sims had cockpit views, but it didn't stop Forza 1 &2 being stunning games nor did it stop GT1, 2, 3 and 4 also being stunning games without it!
I must point out back on the PS1 the first NFS had cockpit views! and that was out before GT1.....cockpit views are not new but nor are they the most common veiw point to race in, there nice but not a necesity for most.

Graphics........Ok standard cars don't look as good as premium cars......yes thats a fact, they don't look that far off and in race conditions there's no imediate difference. But standard cars are still better looking than any other car in any other console racing game!

Quick point at the end. the best "sim" on the PS3 would be one of the ferrari challenge titles........people love it, I love it, but if you look at the cars on offer, the tracks on offer and the (sorry) pitiful looking car models you would be hard pressed to see why people like it so much.....until you actualy drive the cars in it........that is the same with GT5, if you look at the physics of GT5P and the GT TT there physics are even better (GT5P debatable but GT TT definatly) and thats the whole point, it's a driving game, forget the whistles and bells, get in there, drive it and remember why the GT series is renound for being the title that allways pushed the genere forward every time a new incarnation was released.

Agreed 100%.

I know that both the regular Nordschleife and the full VLN course (Nurburgring GP + Nordschleife with the added bonus of time/weather effects) would be phenomenal. The North Loop was already great in spite of GT4's driving physics (while not bad isn't quite up to task). These videos show how close the GT4 version is to the real one- Renault Clio on both but you need to pause the GT4 version once in awhile to keep them both in sync. At one point in the RL video you'll see a VW Samba Bus.

There is actualy quite a few more features than that little lot but hey lets not spoil anymore suprises LOL

The walk about for photo mode is in one of Tekken90's vids, the one titled photomode traveller. it pops up as an option while he's placing his car for the photo. indicates you can walkaround the photo traveller locations.

Unfortunatly at the moment theres so much "mundain" posts the good stuff soon gets lost in it all.

This isn't anything negative, but have we heard anything about the "stunt arena's"? I mean, what are they supposed to be? Just interested as we never heard anything after it was first announced.

Prodigey change your Avatar it's far too distracting LOL

As for stunt areas? also not heard anything on drift compertitions either? Just pages of wheels, damage and standards LOL

On a hugely posertive note Amar has a copy of GT5.....and has started a thread....and is going to go into detail about the features.......why is different from those already doing this? well Amar is a highly regarded member of GTPlanet and has been for quite sometime. What he says is gospel as it where. His first post should be up in about a hour

He's not a fanboy bro, calm down, the positives for this game is a lot, the game's going to be set a new standard for racing games. That was kind of a horrible comeback about the exhaust and everything, also. Lol..

Got a problem, sort it on the track LOL

Well, I hope everyone has been following Amars "review / Walkthrough" He's usualy quite restrained in his past reviews, and allways stays in the middle ground, making sure to point out a games posertive and negertive aspects without blowing them out of proportions.......If you didn't know this about him and read his GT5 review you'd think he was a raving GT fanboy LOL

Just seems to be a constant stream of posertive information from him. The latest and greatest so far was the fact he saw no difference between standard and premium cars when on the track in a mixed race......Thats where it matters most in the game and it seems PD have it covered!

Each update to the review seems to bring to the table 2 new features as yet unseen or heard of and lay one myth bugbear to rest. If your not already reading it.....why not!
