Well, you're right. It still has a few months to go. So maybe they'll iron these things out in the last few months.

My only hope is PCARS doesn't resemble SHIFT in any way shape or form.

Sounding pretty bad...Better than Forza games right enough but way off Gran Turismo's soundtracks.
You mean the music? I haven't listened yet but I have to admit I do enjoy GT's quirky sound mix. I turn off all music except for menu's anyway so it doesn't matter much to me one way or the other, but a nice eclectic music mix for PCars would be nice.

EDIT: Had a quick listen to a few. A bit dramatic but it'll work:lol:

Depends what you like, I can't stand most of the stuff in Gran Turismo, from that cheesy 80s Metal Moon Over The Castle to the more modern Japanese rock. Doesn't do anything for me.
They always have good DnB in GT games...But yeah i do turn alot of weird stuff off. PCars kinda sounds like a mix of Forza 5 (Worst soundtrack ever) and the dodgy GT stuff i turn off

Well like I said, it depends what you like. For example there is no such thing as good Drum N Bass to me.

@Myles Prower - At first I thought the music sounded odd & out off place, like it belonged to a different genre. Then I realised that it sounds pretty much like EPIC Movie trailer music. Seeing as Project Cars is quite an EPIC game in what it's trying to achieve, I guess the music really does fit after all.

👍

The original NFS has one of the best racing game soundtracks I've ever heard. A nice mix of industrial, rock and techno. Brilliant soundtrack.
For me that's appropriate to that type of arcade game but not a sim...IMO only of course:lol:.

Personal opinion of course, but while having a nice soundtrack is a bonus, i feel that it would be way down on my list of priorities for a racing title. Thankfully from what I've seen and read about PCars, it seems to be taking care of the other aspects that I would consider to be more important, physics, car and track selections, engaging offline & online modes, graphics etc.

Right, music isn't a very high priority in a driving sim, is it?

Penso, have you played the original NFS? May be an arcade fest by today's standards (maybe), but was developed and launched as a sim, with engine sounds sampled from the real thing, handling characteristics and all. Pretty brilliant for a title from the early 90s. There was nothing like it.

Kind of like Forza 5 music? Hmm, I don't know. Don't like that sort of music in a driving game. I think it could do just fine without music. The race, trackside and engine sounds IS the music!

I know, when I load a new racing sim. One of the first things I do is turn the music off during race. Like Speedster said, The tires, engine from my car and other cars, sound of hitting the rumble strips. The racing is the music. I for one don't want to hear some stupid music when I'm going side by side with another car.

I played it back in the day with a friend who had it, never bought it myself though.

Same here, i like to listen to the engine. Music is just a big distraction.

Hehe... You know, same here except for one thing: In sims, there normally isnt any music while driving, not in iRacing, not in AC, not in rF, not in pCARS. But yeah, in GT I do the same. *runsandhides* :D

NAILED it! 👍

The only reason I turn off the music in most racing games is because the music is freaking terrible (to my taste). Enjoyable music is more than welcome for driving/racing. On the Xbox 360, I always play mp3s off of a USB stick.
