Yes, I figured Karts would be the best fit.

Caterham's might also make for interesting racing.
Ariel Atoms are quite small too, BAC Mono, Formula Ford maybe. I don't mind a track or two that's mainly for hotlapping as well.

Plus Renault Clio Cup, Ginetta G40, Megane RS/Focus/A45, Escort 1600 RS... Plus the A1 Quattro and the Lotus 51 whenever they will be added.

Found on the front page of NintendoEnthusiast.com, there are a couple new videos attempting to simulate the graphics settings of the Wii U version:

If I had a Wii I'd be happy with that. Can the Wii handle weather and night racing?

Weather was confirmed in an interview from January:
Andy Tudor
I literally just had a blast racing around one of our tracks in the rain (the most graphically-intensive weather setting) and it held up pretty damn well. Of course, there are optimizations still to be done, but side-by-side, the Wii U version we have running in the studio is extremely promising.

Apart from the simpler tire model and maybe the maximum number of cars per race, I expect it'll offer the same things as all the others. Plus the GamePad features, of course.

Really cool.

What is the maximum amount of drivers? I am assuming either 8, 12 or 16.

I thought all versions on all platforms would be the same except maybe from some graphical differences? Have SMS really said that certain versions will have a simpler tyre model? Does that include the PS3 version?

There is no PS3/X360 version any more. The WiiU will have to have a simpler tyre model because the console would only just be able to run 4 cars on track with the more advanced tyre model.

Especially since its no hard fact since we simply dont know for sure what will make the tire model of the WiiU version and what wont. We never got any true info due to NDA and people just assume it will be similar for the WiiU as it would have been for the PS3/360.

Again, DG, please stop those kind of irritating posts.

He, along with a few others that frequent this thread, is a WMD forum member. He has access to the content of this game in it's beta form.

Only the player's car runs the full physics/tyre model. The AI field runs a simpler model which is tuned to yield the same overall performance, but without the detail of the player's car. This is common for all sims due to the computing power needed for that one finely detailed player model. Whichever model it ends up with, it will be a lot more advanced than what the AI runs.

Ya and so? I am a member too and I dont know of any definitive answer about the WiiU tire model. The devs had to stop giving us info on the WiiU version after some delicate technical details they told us were leaked.

And none of us has access to the WiiU build, only PC.

Its not in the beta stage yet, I'm guessing the guy who posted the "simulation" vid will be hunted down? It does nothing possitive for the game but maybe build up false hype.

Also remember Failrace with the AI vids, in his latest vid where he tried to drive a Caper around a Kart track in heavy rain he requested everyone should pre-order the game :D

@VBR @Myles Prower -- I should have clarified that the "simple" tire model would be the Brush Tire Model that was originally planned for the game, before they decided to develop the Seta Tire Model...if DG_Silva's assumption is correct. I was just going by what he told me weeks ago, so I apologize for stirring things up a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U can handle the STM and everything. In any case, when they announced the 30fps target on Wii U, the reasons included "more cars on track", "better weather effects", and the demands of the physics engine, which ought to address some of the questions here. :)

For the sake of marketing I wouldn't shout that too loudly

Nintendo named their console after going to the toilet, I don't think anyone's concerned about marketing!

;)

I can see the car has not much grip
A street car that does a lap of 2:12ish sounds like a lot of grip to me. If it's on anything less than racing tires it should be struggling for grip under acceleration and cornering.
