Interesting to note that although they appear to be about the same pace on the track, in Blanchimont (corner 17 and 18, 1:49) there is a 50km/h difference in top speed according to the speedometer.

That could happen because of a lot of things. Mainly being able to get the power down quicker. In the Forza 5 video you can tell that assists are on. TCS would allow you to get the power down quicker and allow you to reach a higher speed. Just speculation though.

I keep replaying the lightening at 30 seconds. Perfect (at least in that view)

This part?

If so I agree with you. 👍

Or he is just really good. His throttle control looks very fluid. Also F1 has always been compared to "playing a video game".

Maybe it would help to see a pedal app like in assetto corsa that shows how he uses throttle and brakes. Because when you watch the video you automaticaly think he is always full on throttle.

Here is another video by the same guy. He just seems to drive well from what I can tell, good drivers always make it look easy. It's a bit of a shame that there is no demo available. You will just have to have a got at it yourself, Do you have a friend that will be getting it that could let you try it? I was having the same problems with Forza 5 hearing all sorts of opinions, I ended up trying it and it was marvelous.

Why does it look too easy to drive? Still not sure about physics in this game. I read so many comments. Positive and negative.
Have you ever seen an F1 onboard lap? They make it look easy in real life, so the game should look the same to a good sim driver should it not? Alonso looks like he's out for a Sunday cruise most of this lap and it's a Q lap. Compare:

Now that I see this, it looks close to are greatly anticipated Sim. I was to skeptical about F1. It's not that big of a deal to me because F1 has never been my fav. Those rockets have some crazy grip and speed. It looks almost fake when it's real. Come on November.

I think it was Rene Rast that said something along the lines that getting a racecar within a second a lap of your ultimate time is a rather easy affair, it's the last second that takes the real skill. I think when you take the older cars out with their lower grip and downforce and sometimes bias ply tires, you'll find yourself fighting the car all the way around the circuit. In real life as in the game, driving a car from the 60's-80's is a completely different affair from driving something very recent.
