The AI is also shaping up pretty well. They could probably do to be faster on 100% (judging by the FailRace overtaking challenges), but they're already more believable than the low-awareness conga lines of previous-gen games. The mistakes and contact the AI make in tight traffic are starting to look like plausible mistakes, rather than rough programming. I wonder how often they overtake each other.

I think this is an appropriate question for the video forum. I just got my pc a couple of months ago and have a few replays saved that look great in game but when I record with Shadowplay they seem to go from 1080p to 480p and look like heck, in spite of maxed out settings in Shadowplay. Does anyone use Shadowplay for creating YT videos? What is the method of choice for creating YT videos?

No problem here, i use manual recording then upload to youtube, in the settings i'm using high 1080P 60 FPS, didn't touch the slider for more quality, high settings in default.
Stupid question, did you wait for youtube to reencode the video?
Youtube will always compress the video, but they don't feel like 480P, if you want i could send you some links in pm, most of my videos are unlisted.

My problem isn't with YT, it's before Youtube. I record with Shadowplay at high settings and then play that recording on Windoze Media Player and it looks fine, perfect 1080p/60fps. When I take that recording to Windows Movie Maker that's when it looks like 360p. I want to edit videos before I post them and using Windoze Movie Maker seems to screw them up. Or I'm missing a step or something. Do you use any software after recording to edit with?

If you are going to edit your videos you need better software, i think movie maker not even support 60 FPS.
Usually i don't edit the videos, but if i need to, i use Nero (old habits), but there's a lot of better software for that.

I'm having the same problem. Apparently Windows Movie Maker can save 60 fps but you need to create a custom setting otherwise it defaults to 30. File->Save Movie->Create Custom Setting

However I've tried this and my videos still have lots of pixilation throughout at random times.
I think @MJRL may be correct, we may just need to use better editing software.

What a fantastic race! Love those cars!

But. At 9:55 in the second video, the cars are coming through a bend. Before we're able to see the actual cars, we can see their lights through the ground.
Yeah, it's a very long standing bug. I've been bugging devs about it for a few years now, and the most recent answer I got is that it will be looked at soon, but so far no work has been done to fix it, so who knows if it will be or not before release. It's either something very hard to fix, or really easy and they will just fix it in day or so right around release time. We'll see.

Some videos I come across for PCars look so arcade like I have to wonder what all the fuss is about. Towards the end of the video, (1.25) there is an off followed by a wheel in the gravel followed by a fairly hard left turn on grass to get back to the track. I've never driven a formula one car, but everything I know about having watched them makes me think that car should have speared into the barrier at speed!

The first chicane you come across the physics look funky too. And I can't tell whats going on with the sounds but they don't seem to be in sync, or able to play at the same time, or exagerated. I can't put my finger on it.

It's hard to form an opinion based of a video i grant you. You're not able to determine what aids or controller type was used mostly. Needless to say though this particular video didn't impress me.

The run off zone after the second chicane is actually part of the track and pretty grippy. He was going too deep into the last corner to make it, therefore he ended up in the wall. And keep in mind he is driving a LeMans Prototype with a lot of downforce, wich makes the speed these things go trough corners hard to believe. You can exactly feel the load unload of the tires as well as the approaching slip angle trough the wheel. For reference, i like the FFB in Assetto Corsa very much, but it doesn't hold a candle to the FFB sensation in pCars.

Sorry I should have been more clear. At 1.25 in the video he's approaching the incident, when it happens you think oh 🤬 this is going to hurt! But he just turns left on grass, has a little sliding and back to the track. That should have been a big accident or so I thought, instead no real drama

On the way to the 3rd gear right hander starting (at 1:20), he misses the little kink to the left, runs a bit wide to the right and hits a bump in the track, then steers slightly left to place the car for turn entry. I think he does not hit the grass at all. Actually, the car would have been dragged to the right if he really was hitting it. I hope im on the right track getting to your point :-)

Yes, I think currently the grass is too grippy too with slicks. I'll post my opinion to the correct thread at WMD right now (was meaning to do it earlier already but got distracted).

Here's the changes to the FFB I made.. only started yesterday to fiddle with the FFB settings (should have done this way earlier), so there's still many many things to test to further improve it still (which would be quite remarkable as it's reeeaaally good for me this way already)

I use 7yo old G25 :D (from the gt5 prologue days)

I would appreciate any feedback about that btw. cheers!

Lol, you're getting there.. Just a few seconds behind :P

Start watching at 1.25, the incident I describe happens a few seconds later.

@Timppaq Appreciate the response, its good to hear that you feel the grip as I see it. So I can assume from that you're using realistic settings?

I plan to turn 'SIM' to the max, zero aids, 100 AI etc etc. I also plan on driving with my T300. I'll would like to give you some FFB feedback once I get my hands on the game.

Eventually ;)

Project CARS graphics comparison between graphics settings in Low and Ultra. The comparison is at Bathurst, alternating fragments of the lap in wet and dry, for a better appreciation of the difference in both conditions.

Ok,
I know everyone is in love with rain, but I must say that I like the low better than the ultra when it comes to the rain, in the ultra videos, the rain is going up some imaginary surface, can’t be the windshield because we are not in cockpit mode, what exactly is that rain supposed to be on, if it’s the camera lens I can truly say I don’t like it.

It is on the camera lens. You can disable it (well, on pc, you can, on console, I don't know.).
