The update seems to make it run faster and smoother, I noticed some new options in settings. Also it no longer says "no signal" at the top because I have 3G shut off. Overall good update for me, although I can see how that memory card thing could piss off people.

Overall I'm impressed with the update.
As an older gamer the opportunity to put MGS1 and FF7 on to a portable is a boon.

My son will now get to enjoy these titles.
I may even get through disc 2 of FF7 lol.

Some nice surprises in the update too.
The ability to map the 4 corners of the front touch screen as alternative buttons for PSP emulation is nice.
Haven't found the ideal game for that purpose yet but I bet there's a few. Maybe a rythym game perhaps.

Just glad I stuck with the one account.
Even before this update it sounded like a load of hassle to switch accounts. Plus if wanted to migrate content in the future it's much easier of one account.

I do feel for those affected though. Overall I'm happy.

Who needs vita games lol.

I've got 8 PSOne titles loaded on and ready to play. Probably play Final Fantasy VII first since neither of my Oddworld games are on there. Seriously Sony, seriously?

My favorite change so far is I can now import all my GT5 photos onto the Vita. I have a few of my favorites as my backagrounds for the different screens.

I believe my two cents are telling me you can play PS1 games that aren't on your list, just follow these steps (they may or may not work)
On their PS3, go to their downloaded items list. From there, re-download the PS1 Games they’ve purchased before onto their PS3 system. Once download is complete, connect the PS Vita to the PS3 using the Vita’s USB charging cable (which came with the product). Using the Vita, access the Content Manager App, click on start. Choose – Copy Content – PS3 System to PS Vita System. Choose Applications (Playstation) – Click on “Applications Downloaded on the PS3 System” Once there, a list of PS1 Games should be listed for copying. Players can choose which ones they want copied or choose select all to copy all games to their PS Vita system. Once games are chosen, click on the “Copy” button found on the lower right of the screen.

Are the ones missing still in the uninstalled state on your PS3. (bubble)

Yup, I redownloaded all of them today. I have about 20 download bubbles.

This explains why only a few of my games worked. I have 12 on the confirmed don't work list.:banghead:

That's for North America though. Some of those games are available in the store for download in Europe.

Must be a PAL/NTSC thing then. Hope they address the issue.
I'm sure the opposite will be true also, EU will have games not working compared to US.

I
don't screw your existing customers with limiting (as above)

Its another tactic to close exploits that Sony did not intend to allow(like gamesharing and exploiting limited free games in different regions and multiple users). Sony does this for security purposes. It only sucks that this wasn't in it from the beginning then by now no one would care.

I still have the collectors edition of ICO on PS2 with art cards.

Waiting for Zen Pinball 2 over here in UK.
I have most tables, Marvel etc and 2 is free with sample tables. Imports all other tables (marvel) and its then transferable to vita.

Out in US yesterday I believe.

You know those go over the tables for a lot of money nowadays already. (believe around 150 bucks)
It will be crazy what it will be worth in 20 years...

Really?

Oh nice news. I rather thought those collectors things were not that valuable.

It really has to be that strange combination of rare, in demand, and valuable. For example they made a Treasure hunters pack or something for Uncharted 2 which has a huge following... and they made like 100 of them. They go for a lot of money now.

Collectors Edition of GT5 is going for around $150 right now, it was also limited afaik. But I have serious doubts of it holding its value.

Can anyone tell me why it's worth getting a Vita? Really considering it but not sure there are enough reasons to...

Really only you can decide if it's worth it. Are you a big mobile gamer or do you only play at home? Do the available upcomming titles appeal to you? Are remote play, remote controller, and cross play features that appeal to you? It's not overloaded with games yet but there are some awesome looking titles on the horizon plus features like PSONE support and remote play constantly being patched in. Personally, I love mine. I'm actually using it more than my PS3 at the moment. I found Uncharted to be excellent, Lumines is a great puzzle game, and Escape Plan is great as well. Throw in the ability to play FFVII and the Oddworld games and I'm hooked.

looking forward to Zen Pinball 2 on the Vita. A few more hours... :)

It walks all over the other pinball game in terms of value, graphics, presentation and expand-ability. If you own other zen pinball games or have PS+ and got Marvel pinball for free you can use those tables at no extra charge. Tables playable on PS3 and Vita in a single package is great.

How does this PS1 support work? Is it the same as the PSP?

I didn't really use it on PSP but I'm pretty sure it's the same because it mentions PSP when starting the games up. Right now a limited number of games are available and they should be adding more over time. So far FFVII works really well.

Edit: Fry's in the US currently has the Vita Wifi for $199.

If only I could get my ZP1 tables to work on the Vita????? When I press the [] button to look for download tables, it states there are none. WTF. I read a lot of people having trouble with this. I hope they will fix it.

Hmmm...will keep an eye out for cheap deals then. Plus, there might be a GT along the line so that would make it a purchase regardless.
