Totally forgot about the lobby. This summer is gonna be busy for me... and I'm gonna be helping my mom get a new 55in TV set up in the living room today.
Agreed.I gotta say, I didn't expect the club to have an expiry date so soon...
Well that sucks that the club is set to close. I'm definitely not buying the whole "peeps will be working because it's summer" shtick.
Creating a club is not an easy task. Getting The Racers and Chasers Club up and running took me four months from start to finish. In those four months, I was required to create the rules, create the police information, create liveries, create maps, and create the website.
Making the website itself took a decent chunk of the time. I had to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. To this day, I only know the tip of the iceberg when it comes to getting a site done. A lot of it was hell, but it was worth the effort.
A good amount of work in Forza was needed too. Trial and error to see what worked and what didn't was common and tedious. Going over many different livery variations and seeing how they looked took plenty of time.
A lot of hard work, along with all the previous experience I've had with other clubs, is essential to have a club be successful. I have to time when I open the club, and when I close the club. It's impossible to know 100% when a club will close, but I always have a reasonable idea.
Everything is thought out and nothing gets left untouched for the most part. This club is the summation of what's gone into it. It's basically my baby, so handing it over to someone else is not something feasible for me. I'm cool with people using my ideas and such as long as they ask, but simply giving the whole club to someone isn't how I operate and feels wrong.
I've run these joints for a while, and trust me, knowing that one day it will be over is depressing.
I think you didn't get the point of the post. No one's fighting for power.I'm not going to be placed onto a side of what this essentially is, a power struggle.
I'm done.
Ok, let me try to sum this up...
It's very simple and there's no power struggle. The drama is uncorroborated.
- People have lives outside of TRCC and GTPlanet.
- Because people have actual lives and responsibilities outside of TRCC and GTPlanet, this club won't receive as much activity as it previously has.
- Because of the drop in activity, the club will (seemingly) go into a summer hiatus.
- Because of this hiatus, a request to take it over has been brought up, to keep it running throughout the summer.
- Because of the amount if effort and time it took to create this club from scratch, that isn't an option.
- Because passing ownership isn't an option, the proposal is thrown up that another, similar club be created to run throughout the summer.
- That's it.
That's the problem: I can't, and that's basically why this place will be closing. I really don't know how often I will be able to do ANY gaming after this summer.@Ameer67 would ultimately still be the leader.
If this was GT5/6, I may have put the club on hold, but Forza's different (the games actually release!) because FM7 will most likely be coming out around fall or early winter.I was just thinking that we can try opening some lobbies during the start of summer to see if it would work out or not. If it turns out that not enough people are joining, just put the club on hold until September rolls around and get the club going again (So don't close it)
Sounds good. 👍I think we should focus on this club for a few more weeks, then start working on the new club. TR&CC is not over yet.
