So if I was driving 150mph down the highway, and I passed you... you would consider that a ricer fly by?:odd:

There's a difference in people who are just speeding, and tools who are doing ricer fly bys.;)

HAHAHA....that thing about the 911 reminded me of some guy in a convertible that flew past me....I was tryin to figure out a way to get back at him when I pulled up to the light I looked over and he was sitting there looking all smug with his girlfriend...so I roll down my window...wink at his girlfriend...smile and say "whats up ho?" and drive off....we were laughing so hard I had to turn arround because I missed my turn...

next time just make sure ur in a cobra, then u wont need to say anything... or roll down ur windows! lol :P

no the porshe was next to me and then he dropped back and shot forward. Thats why I said it was a fly by...he purposely did it.

Oh, my bad.:P

Well, thats your opinion and I respect that, but you stand next to a Cobra with a 427, and you'll learn a bit of respect for it.

I've been IN a cobra with a 427 in it.....didn't get to drive tho...just a ride...way fun....i just like the way the skyline feels when you drive...and i like all the technology...that little screen is soooo cool!

I dont like standing in front of Cobra's. It looks like it just wants to eat you up. The Cobra is Roadster Baddass and the Skyline is Sedan-ish badass :). Both great cars in their own right...

I was able to domestic fly by a ricer last night. Me and my friends were crusing down 75 and we saw this red honda, big wing...you know all the ricer stuff. So I catch up to him, he was doing about 78mph. So I pace him for about 1/4 mile then I drop back. I hit it and shot past him like he was standing still (I love torque :D). I descided to slow down at 90 since it wasn't a race. Then I seen the guy coming up in the side mirror. But he was un able to pass me. I guess his car was not capable of 80mph. It was funny and I fullfilled my mission of a domestic fly by. I am satisfied now :D

No he couldn't keep up....I hope he wasn't trying cause it would be said if he was. But I think the engine was stock. I mean what 100hp has a hard time powering the Civic without extra weight.

I was stuck in traffic the other day and some funny **** happened. I was getting looks from other drivers like usual, but a couple ricers were giving me trouble.

First it was this guy in like a ****ing 89 civic dx hatch. The ones thats looks resembled the look of the crx a tad, but had like 87hp instead of 101. We were in stop and go, he was in the other lane, he decided to show off his muscle and rev a bit. I was looking the other way, talking to a friend i had in the car. All of a sudden we heard it, and were both like "WTF?" we look over "omfg, hahahhaha". Its hard to take something like that seriously. We didnt know if he was kidding or what. It made my day. The thing was yellow and all i noticed was that it mustve had an exhaust, or maybe it was just missing one.

Then later in stop and go traffic again we stumbled upon some teenage morons in a yellow cavalier, you know, the bright yellow ones, the ones regular people buy after they saw f&f. They were just looking at us, smiling, and saying **** at us for 5min. I was thinking they were trying to lure me into a race, but we were in traffic. Didnt make much sense. I remember my buddy saying "you even think those punks know what this is?". "of course not", I said. oh well.

I remember later that day I passed an e36 m3. I see probably a few a day. Everytime i give the driver a look to see if they are bmw guys, not someone who just bought the car to drive to work in. I was used to that kind of driver in an e36, so after I gave him a look I looked away. I was thinking "why would I expect an actual enthusiast to be driving an e36 m3." As I drove a little past him so he could see me, I got a honk and the thumbs up. I looked over and saw a BMWCCA emblem in his grill. it felt nice. I didnt buy my car for looks (last thing from it), but its nice being appreciated every once in a while. unlike with the punks in the cavalier, it makes me feel like im not driving around in a widebodied riced out car.

Your car could smoke theirs. "A dumbass* opens his mouth and closes his eyes. A wise man opens his eyes and closes his mouth" - Chinese Proverb.

* - my own add in :P...

[EDIT] BTW, Im thinking of getting rid on my SRT4 (giving it to my Uncle who would get more use out of it) so Im back to car shopping. I saw the Evo 8 and I like it, though a bit exspensive. I just want suggestions of what you think is nice for a beginers driver but would be good for a more skilled driver and that would last long and have lots of use. Im thinking of a sporty sedan or coupe with rear wheel drive that looks good (or is a sleeper), handles good, and isnt really considered rice. Maybe in the $8K range (as I am using my own money and will work and get parents for the rest). I like the idea of earning my own car rather than getting it as a gift (unless its Viper or M3/M5  ). What would you guys pick? Im not going to actually put the most consideration into the car I buy based on your opinions but it will have some influence :)...

not sure if this would fit you, but get an e30 325 man! you can get a very good one for probably 5k. like my m3, but a better street car and way cheaper (car cost, parts, mods). They look so classic. Youd be original, not many young kids have them. Its a bimmer, so its nice as hell. Damn do they handle. Probably slower than youd like, but you can mod them. approximately 170hp, 2600lb. Im guessing they do the quarter in 16. 0-60 in probably 7. Dont forget the motor has torque, so it actually FEELS fast.

loads of kids have e30s and e36's in the UK, but then we are closer to germany so that has to count i guess. i'd suggest getting ANYTHING for the first 6-12 months of ur driving so that you can get used to a clutch+traffic. anything you wreck you will patch up with duck-tape or throw away and not cry over. then when u consider u have mastered that car you should move up. thats my opinion.

as much as i love cars i started off with a 14 year old FF estate! :D 1.3 litre engine non-turbo, and im very glad i did, and if i had to start again i'd pick exactly that car, anything with too much power would have just scared me or enticed me to dangerous driving

Did I mention that I raced gocarts for 8 years? Not those slow lawnmower ones either :)...

hmm not quite for 8 years but i did race go karts too, they didn't have gearboxes so i guess they were the 'slow' type heh, they felt damn fast though. i also used to drive tractors around my gliding club (to retrieve gliders after they landed) and i still think driving on actual roads is a completely different kettle of fish. up 2 u though.

also, not sure if it counts as a ricer 'fly-by' but it really annoys me when ricers pass you at low speeds (with or without music) with their hand out of the window and face looking straight at you instead of at the road. their car is usually so lame it wouldn't stand a chance in a race yet thats what they appear to be wanting. it just makes me laugh.

happened to me last night, and even if you wanted to impress people like that you couldn't really. if they are driving an FF car with who knows how much hp, they clearly know nothing about racing/driving.

AdvanR, Im going to make a seperate thread so I dont start doing off topic posts in this forum (like this :) )...

Cobra as in the new mustang and MUSTANGS or a cobra as in a Jet.....Cause Mustang Cobra's suck horribly....second..A porsche passing you is a rice fly by? Are you retarded? A Porsche isn't rice..I don't care if you put a football goalpost on the back and stickers that say "GReddy" all over it..it's a porsche..A porsche Can't be rice..end of story.

Mustang Cobras don't exactly suck. They got some power and the Cobra R would hand you your ass on a silver plater.

I said it was a kraut fly by and it doesn't matter the car. Anyone who paces you then drops back to just shoot past you. Now thats a ricer fly by cause most of the time ricers do that. And the Porsche had that blender sound coming from it.
