Oh SH.....T there goes my team mate. Gona need a new one now.

I just cant keep up with work now and all the practicing one has to do in the week to actually try and be competitive....

Baie baie jammer ek drop jou maar ek kan nie anders nie....

hey carbon, no problem, i was suppose to be 7th, so when i passed you i realized that i was 6th so i was trying to wait for u to pass me.

one thing that bothers me is the qualification, maybe we could simulate a race when we do our practice, and see if you really get penalized for so called cutting corners, i just do not understand how the fast guys can get like 7th to 11th and the slower guys get top positions.

i think we should do our qualification on our race pp, that way we all stay on track and the race starts after q1, i am sure that will sort out the problem.

Ja quali has been kinda strange sometimes, but running the race pp will just slow you down more, and when the race starts the game will still put u in which ever position it thinks you should b in..... whatever your pp. I've been on pole a fair bit and haven't had much of a problem with the quali system..... except when I got dc. Lol

i am sure there must be a problem, because there have been situations where the faster guys were down the grid and the usual slower guys 2nd and 3rd. last race Ally and Wilfred were 2nd and 3rd, and myself and pep was down the order, i find that weird. we (myself and pep) spoke about it and we both said that we on purpose run extra clean laps just in case. so yes i still feel the same, i would rather go out with the least pp and get the position i ran in q1, then to run a 590pp and sit at the back of the grid knowingly i was much quicker then that.

I hear you Bronzo, that's not cool, but say you run 583pp and Qualify in second and then start the race without going back to the lounge. The game will still put you where ever it wants to on the grid and there is nothing we can do about it. Running less pp won't make a difference. But I agree it's very frustrating when it happens, but it's not all the time.

Could it also maybe, quite possibly be that some guys do more laps in a qualifying session than anyone else? Also it could also be that some guys dont leave the free practice session as much until the start of the race.

I think that it might have to do with either of the two above as I think if u do alot more laps(and clean laps????) and stay in the session longer u will be bumped up the order.

Just my two cents worth...

I agree.... the game is obviously being effected by sometime we r doing. On the times I have had pole and have the sessions fastest time, I make sure I stay on track and keep going around. Maybe that makes a difference, who knows? But if you exit the track or make alterations to your car you r definitely bumped down the order. That's what we know for sure. But either way it's the same for everyone and its the only way to ensure there is no cheating, so I recon we don't have a choice in the matter. That's my 50c worth... haha ha

i think we should replicate the race during practice and see what happens during different situations, because we did a few tests last time and i i ran the fastest time during q and then leave track to go do settings and then when we start race i will still be 1st. weird...

I think it is that as well... Like Canu says, if you change something to your car and you go in and out of the session you go down the order....Possibly. Think the game then sorts it out in order who has done the most laps and not changed their set-up.

Therefore I think that qualifying from now onwards should be treated like when you go time travelling... Do not touch anything to alter the future(grid position)... LOL
Think we all seen enough Back to the Future to know what messing with things does.... LOL

Even a better idea....... let's all buy the new and rated better F1 2011 and do a championship in that. No game glitches, just pure racing! 19 proper race tracks, no corner cutting or cheating, proper teammates, realistic weather and tyre wear......it makes Gt5 look stupid!

I am sure it was not possible for me to be on pole. On my screen I was on top of the table but I dont know why. What u should know is that I had a mutch faster car in the race than in practice (30bph more) I managed a quali on 1,06:7??. Dont think I could manage that in the race:grumpy:

You were certainly fast enough to get pole.... and I don't think anyone ran particularly fast laps during the race, it's tough in traffic! How the times looking so far at Monaco? I've managed a 1:28,5 but average low 1:29s so far.

No prob bud. I will beg homes to change to bronzo's team. Spend alot of practice hours with him anyway. Not sure if I am capable of racing those tale happy honda's lol:P

I would really quickly lose my cool if one of my baby cousins started making noise when I'm trying to concentrate on racing...

cool driver,

must say i think i am going to suffer on monaco with this nsx, bets time was 1.28, but then tires last 6 laps, 1,29 8 laps, so not sure how i am going to make 15 laps lol

Bronzo, we should run tests again... just to make sure I'm in the correct pace to not allow the guys behind me to get past :sly:

hey carbon, i dont think anyone will be able to pass on this track,so if you r running 1,32 eg; u should be able to defend yr position, this race will be about grid position. but yes join tonight for a test run, i cannot do this too long as i get very bored of this track, mainly because i suck at this track in this car, other cars i am ok with. like the redbull i did a 53 sec lol, so maybe i can race that. do u guys mind if i do?

I got my copy today. Cant wait to get home and try it 👍

Homes you lucky sod!!!!! If they're not in the shops by the weekend I'm gonna order mine online. Should we do the co-op championship? You can be the number 2 driver. Haha ha I think once I get the game I might never play Gt5 again.

Ya, I always get super excited about the F1 games and play them to death. But usually by about November I can win the championship in a Virgin or Hispania (or equivalent in the older games) with ease and get bored. Then in about January I go back to GT.

Also, I am suspicious of the fact that codemasters created the game from scratch. It is just too similar to the old F1 games with some of the same problems. ie: Catalunya is way too unrealistically difficult when compared to the other tracks.

Also, why do you have to do the setup of your own car? In real life the team sets up the car for each track and the driver just ask/recommends tweaks...

I really hope this version is excellent for online racing and teams and championships etc...

Read the write up on Gamespot, they recon the A.I. drivers r more aggressive and defend better and they also recon they have sorted out the inconsistencies with regards to the tracks. It sounds more difficult..... lets hope! If the online is better we should seriously attempt some sort of championship!
