irt constructors championship

EPSON 140

agent my teammate 18, PEP guest driver Monza 20, Deep Forest 30, i think i miss about 68 points here.

what happened at cote was on my screen i was 1st in q, then when raced started i was last?? so very difficult race with lowest pp from back of grid.

if i knew i was 10th i would have kept on trying for a better result in q. so once again a bit weird, surely the game should list you according to grid position and not inform me i am 1st if i actually getting 10th.

As far bonus points go i am confused as to why scale get 7 points if someone touches him, but yet he touches everybody in every race while ramming his way to the front.

So i think my season is finished, was fun till now, but i think we are in a championship with a few odd drivers involved.

Have fun guys.

That's a pity Bronzo, but I'm with you on this one. Everyone is so clean and is so much fun to race with, we all make mistakes but say sorry and or let the guy back thru, but their r a couple of guys on the grid that get away with murder every race, but god forbid you touch them. Then they get bonus points..... haha ha Driver I know you have had issues with the
same drivers. It's not just about this race, it's the whole championship so far! Voice your opinion please, this is what a forum is for. If we don't sort this out you'll find more of the clean good racers pulling out. Its not about how many racers we have, it should be about how many good clean fair racers we have! Two bad apples ruin a bunch.

I do agree with the fact that no drivers should be put above others this way... I believe I saw Scale ramming others a bit in Monaco, didn't get much of a chance to see him driving however, because of my 2-stop tactic.

Low age doesn't grant you the right to do whatever you want. Pure fact.

I just don't believe that Naming and Shaming on a forum like GT Planet is not a way forward to combating the dodgy drivers.

I did have an issue at Monza where my name was being slammed by another driver and I am still confused as to why.

I believe that the way to resolve it is to do it privately. PSN online or PM here.

Unfortunately for Homes, he is the host and therefore is the race director. He has the final say, after reviewing the replays, if he feels a penalty is granted or a warning has to be harshly issued, then we as races need to accept it. We need to appreciate the result and move on.

Its a virtual game, its not real life, drivers perceptions may vary, and abilities of driving skills differ. Something as simple as a braking point will be different from driver to driver. Throw in a bit of lagg and different driving views, you have a lot of variables to consider.

However, a driver who blatantly wants to take someone else out or drives erratically needs to be warned, after that if he continues he needs to sit out, that will spoil it for all, which I feel may be happening already.

@ Bronzo - I would strongly suggest continuing, you are fast and an absolute pleasure to race with. We don't want guys quitting.

I am going to watch the replay later over and over....I want to see it for myself.

im not going to get involved with the hating but for quali just perfect your set-up during the week practice and do 1 a quick lap then use your speed for the next lap and then if u mess up the lap take it easy refocus yourself and start again works for me and by the end of quali you've done alot of laps and you feel that you've got a good result
and please dont violate the AUP

(You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.)

I actually forgot about that issue at Monza Driver101. You were named and shamed by Wilfred and he wasn't even reprimanded. I watched Monza race and you did absolutely nothing to deserve it either. Double standards. Its little things like that, that annoy people.

hey guys,
i did not mean i am quitting the series, i meant my fight for the title took a huge dent so not sure i can compete anymore. but i will fight to the end - cleanly i hope.

c u in the cork screw.

bron

Oh thas good news bronzo. I bet you manage to catch up your dropped points and you will be right there at the end. :)

A few points about the championship:

By entering, it is expect that you follow the rules. So please use the correct proceedure to get an incident review and don't enter into public arguments (it is also against the AUP of this forum:
You will not behave in an abusive and/or hateful manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack any individual or any group.
. It ruins the game for all.

Also, I have the repsonsibility to do the reviews and penalties or bonuses. If someone wants to help me do that then please let me know. Until such time, you have to accept that I will do what I consider to be fair in terms of penalties and bonus points etc and please beleive me when I say that I am just doing what I think is right.

Lets drive fair and remember that it is only a game. Only for fun. Please don't take it too seriously and most of all, enjoy it! :)

Please be consistent in your decision making Homes, then there will be no reason for people to lose there cool. And if people have got an issue with me pointing out the obvious..... watch the replays and you'll see..... then I have no problem leaving the championship. I wait to see your decision on the latest matter. If you need help making decisions all you have to do is ask, and all the drivers can vote. But look I'm sure you get my point, you're in charge, so it's time you take some action! Thanks

Canu - I don't see how I have been inconsistent in my decisions. I have only been asked to review 3 incidents in this whole series. On 2 of them, I decided it was a racing incident and the drivers asking for the review in both cases have not had any problems with those decisions (neither of them are drivers you have had an issue with). For the other one I awarded Scale 7 bonus points.

So to be 'inconsistent', I would have to have made at least 2 contradictory decisions. I just don't see where they are???

If you think I have made some decision about an incident and I don't know or cant remember it please enlighten me. If you are thinking about the time I was asked to have a 'chat' with 2 drivers, that is exactly what I did. Nobody asked for a review or decision on anything (that I know about) - and if they did, I should have a private message somewhere asking for such...

If you think I should have reprimanded a driver for naming and shaming (the first time it happened), please remember that there were at least 3 other drivers who did the same. So are you saying I should have reprimanded 1 driver and not the others? That, as I say was the 1st time something like that happened and I did ask/remind everyone not to do that at the time.

finally broke the sub 19 barrier with a 1.18.575 then checked my tune to see if it could be improved to find i was running at 587pp

hey homes

am i getting those points for epson in the constructors championship?

that is agent 18
pep 20
pep 30

68 points.

Good news regarding F1 2011

I have been playing lots of F1 2011. Now that I have started 'a career' (with Virgin) on the hardest settings, I can confirm that this is one hell of a game, with the majority of the 2010 bugs fixed. The AI cars are way more aggresive and actually attack you. I have only got to the Canadian GP but have been really impressed by all the tracks so far except Monaco. They have re-worked the whole track and it looks great but the car handling at that track is shocking.

The online mode is also improved, but could still be way better, like most online racing games, but it will do for now.

Yes it is worth it!

Who is up for a full 19 race championship?

Me me me.... I can't wait to get my F1! On a more serious note Homes, what r we going to do about Quali on Thursday. I did tons of legit sub 1:18 laps during quali last night and even did tons of low 1:18 laps without putting a wheel close to the edge of the track, and I qualified last..... Haha ha. There is something seriously sideways with the quali on Gt5! R we going to try our own system on Thursday to try make it fair, so that the slowest guys don't start first. Lol. Or maybe we should just run reverse grid of championship order so that it is fair for everyone from the start to avoid any desperation. Atleast you will know where you will start before Thursday and you can plan your attack? But I do like the superpole idea?

I must say that the reverse grid sound like louds of fun but we have to except that there will be more contact involved

True..... but what's happening now is that some of the fast guys start at the back and some start at the front depending on your luck on the night. All that does is make the guys at the back want to get thru as fast as possible so the the guys in front don't get away. That caused desperation and more bumping. I think if it's reverse grid championship positions then atleast all the guys are together and have to work there way thru the field together. You can take pick your spots better cause no one is getting away unfairly at the front. But that's just my opinion. Who ever wins will really deserve it! But I still prefer the superpole quali!

I wonder if our qualifying session is too long, does the game start to get confused??

On a typical qualifying session you have guys joining late, a few guys still doing changes, a lot is going on at the same time. Maybe, just maybe the game cant handle all of it.

Homes - what if we try this:

Everyone joins the room and starts to practice, then at around 15min to the start you change track to reset, all driver now go out to do their laps with no further changes allowed for set up. Everyone stays on track until race auto starts. Then we see what happens and follow our normal procedure.

Maybe I am talking bull, but anything is worth a try at the moment?

Look what I found regarding qualifying rules from another GTP championship.

TO AVOID AS MUCH AS POSSBILE GT5 QUALIFING PROBLEMS WE WILL FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE:
WHEN THE ONLINE ROOM WILL BE RESETTED AT 10pm (LONDON TIME) - 11pm (CET) - 5pm (NEW YORK TIME) WE WILL RUN 15 MINUTES OF QUALIFICATIONS.
ONCE ON TRACK DURING THE QUALIFY TIME IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO GO BACK IN THE ROOM LOBBY. YOU MUST REMAIN ON TRACK.
PITTING IS ONLY ALLOWED BY MATERIALLY DRIVING INTO THE PITLANE, NOT BY HITTING THE EXIT BUTTON.

Think we should try this

Hey Guys.

I have to say, I really like the idea of the super pole. It will an a whole new element of excitement (and pressure) and it will guarantee a fair grid. If we do it properly it can be done very quickly.

The only thing is how exactly?

To keep things really, really simple we should have the following rules:
1) The qualifying car must have at least two wheels on the track (kerbs are part of the track) at any moment, unless it has obviously lost control.
2) Each quali lap has at least 1 official adjudicator/timekeeper. There decision is final.
3) Any cheating, gets a 5 place grid penalty.

Lets say we have 11 drivers:

driver1
driver2
driver3
driver4
driver5
driver6
driver7
driver8
driver9
driver10
driver11
... in championship order.

Drivers get matched up with one another, so driver1 with driver11. Driver2 with driver10 etc, etc.

When quali starts - driver1 goes to track with his adjudicator watching. 30 seconds later driver2 goes to track with his adjudicator watching.

When driver 2 gets within 30 seconds of finishing his lap, driver4 goes to track and 30 seconds later driver5 goes to track.
etc etc.

If there is an even number of drivers, then there will be a driver/adjudicator combo in the middle who will not have another combo on track at the same time. In this case driver6 and driver7...

Once driver7 has watched driver6, then roles are reversed and driver1 watches driver11 etc etc.

If any late comers join we will assign them an adjudicator.

After each run the adjudicator must write down and then type the official time. I will keep a spreadsheet to calculate the final grid quickly.

What do you think?

Nice find driver:)

I think our current quali is quite long and a bit boring so super-pole might spice things up a bit but I am happy to keep quali the same and try the method driver found if you guys want...

I have to say i like a our current way of quali but we should start quali at 8.15 till the race with no exiting then we don't need to make it over complicated

Super pole is cool, really cool, my only reservation:

Will the guys watching make accurate / consistent decisions. The last thing we need is arguing like, "I did a perfect lap, why do you say it didn't count" or "That wasn't my time, I was faster"....the list goes on.

I suppose its how serious we all take it, if its a fun thing and we all accept our lap, then its cool with me.

Superpole is fine but there is another disadvantage
for the gtr's.
Because a gtr is lighter on tyres it takes at least 3 laps to get n decent temp on the tyres while most of the honda's is ready for a fast lap in the second lap around the track
