I don't think we r doing a warm up lap tonight? And I'll be surprised if anyone can get more than 3 laps without stopping. Maybe Driver can, he is really easy on tyres. this race is going to be slot more fun than we think. Atleast Will is looking forward to it!

Its going to be tough and alot of concentration will be required... Two hours of intense racing is beyond my attention span capabilities.. Lol.

Good race last night. Well done to Scale, showed his pace. Pity about the turnout, we ended with only 7 people racing, also Ally DC'd. The lupo stuff afterweards was a lag, enjoyed that one. We need to start thinking about a new series and based on last nights "giggling like little boys" stuff, I am kind of leaning towards a Lupo / GSX4 kiind of championship. These cars are not that slow, but the racing is far more intense and closer. We could even go for a Civic Type R, Subaru STI, Mini type series. On the flipside, we could look at a Le Mans series, in which case the Pescarola's, Bently, Nissans, Toyotas, Audis will come into play, but the PP will be way higher. My vote is for either the GSX4 or the Lupo. There are plenty of smallish tracks that we could use and we could probably get 2 10 - 15 lap races in on an evening.

Hey guys. You guys raced really well last night. Great drive by all and admired your concentration and patience. Pity bout the DC. Would have loved to finish the race... But anyways... Good race Scale.. You were certainly the benchmark at that track...

Hectic race last night guys, let's not do that again. Lol. Well done Scale, you were in your own league dude, untouchable! And yes Zuat I agree with u completely, we all had so much fun racing Lupos last night, I think that's the way to go for next season. Even the Suzuki Gsx was grand! The higher powered cars r cool, but the racing isn't as much fun. There is no room for error and it always ends ugly. I think a 2 race a night with Lupos will be fantastic! 15laps per race for tire wear. And then a reverse grid of the first race, going the reverse direction on the same track, also 15 laps. That will be awesome!!!!!!!!! And include high speed ring for a gas. The Lupos are great for slipstreaming and the racing will be really close, even on the big tracks, cause you just can't get away. Let's do it!!!!

Yoh....I went to sleep dreaming of this damn driving line changing from blue gentle strips to in your face blood red solid beam. Thats all I did, just watched the line, even after 3 laps and going into the dark, I still didn't know where I was.

That super bowl type concrete turn, like..... WTF, every lap was sideways around there. At one stage I thought "ok I know where I am going, I know this turn now, full taps....no, wrong turn, red line....red line....brake, bang...barrier...grass... barrier...grass"

Anyway, still had fun trying to stay awake on that long straight and listening to Homes and Will pretending to know what they are talking about. Bronzo's live commentary was helpful considering Scale checked out into another time zone. Canu was quiet, he was probably so target locked on Scale that he forgot how to speak.

I can go on and on....just messing around guys.

Thanks for a good race. Well done Scale, I finished way behind you, thought I would give you a chance...hahahhahahaha

Canu...well done, your 3000hrs of practice just wasnt enough to catch that Scaley dude.

Got to give respect to Will, great third place on a track that you obviously know well. Not bad for a country boy.

Thanks guys....all good laughs.

cheers 4 that
but a club man cup could be quite good or we could use a Elise or the caterham

Haha ha.... ja I took my mic off and put it on the table so I could try concentrate better, and so that nobody could hear me swearing everytime I lost it. Homes.... why don't we vote on the cars we want to use 4 next season, to make it fair.

Can I ask for Nürb GP to return for our next season? (which is hopefully a one-make) It's a magnificent track :)

My 2 cents worth for the next series is:

1.2 Races per evening
2.Each Race is 15 laps [allows for tire wear]
3.Reverse grid order
4.Possible cars are - Lupo Cup Car [or any Lupo], Elise 111r, Suzuki GSX4, Renault Clio Cup Car, Mini Cooper S - you get the picture something smallish
5.Stick to small tracks like - Autumn Ring, Deep Forest, High Speed Ring, Tokyo R246, Grand Valley East, Suzuka Short, Tsukuba, Rome, London, Madrid and so on
6.You could look to add ballast or a pp loss to the winners of the first heat, say the first 4 get a pp loss based on their grid order
7.Include bonus points for consistency in terms of lap times and average race positions
8.Bonus points for fastest lap during the race

Run out of ideas, but there are more

I like all the ideas, except I think we should forget about bonus points, they just make things complicated! Also.... If we do a reverse grid order from the finishing positions of the first race then we no longer need ballast penalties for the winners, cause they will start at the back. I think what might work better is giving the last five guys in the championship a pp bonus for the races, which will bring the field closer together and spice things up a bit. e.g. Last guy gets 12pm extra, second last guy gets 10pm extra and so on. It will make it more fun for the slow guys and will allow the guys in the front of the championship to race on the same pp, which will make it tougher for the leaders and will make the racing closer up front. Cause the guys up front want an even contest!! I'm keen on Lupos and Renaults!!!!

Ya, I like that. Lupos or the Renault Cup Car thingy. We can chat about it during the week when the boys are online.

Yes, I really like these ideas and they are pretty much what I have been considering, so glad we seem to be heading in the same direction. thanks guys for the suggestions. I think we should vote for the car and pp limit. should we use say 3 cars and alternate between them each week?

I recommend that we return to the one-make style. Pick a car with enough colors to form multiple teams, like this season. Just got the idea...

having just brought the 10 mil alfa i think a 200bhp limit is a good idea and quite like the idea of a mr2 or a mini or even some of the standard 60's/70's small engined race cars

But the best possibility is a car from the recommended tab. Being able to set it up only makes the competition less tight.

I actually enjoy the set up side of things,

Last night I managed to knock a second off my time around Autumn Ring. I think it adds to a good build up before our race night.

Next Season:

Lupo Cup all the way, only Lupos. Set to 410pp. It will be a series of intense driving, huge battles, times will be super close. Laughter and enjoyment will be on a all time high.

Race 1 - 8 lap sprint race. Points scored for Qualifying and Race result.

Race 2 - Follows directly after race 1, reverse grid. Full race distance to include pit stops. Points scored for race result, extra for fastest lap.

Pit window period to be included to avoid half race pit stops, this bring a whole new strategy into the mix.

ie: Race is 30 laps.
Pit window open during laps 6-8 and laps 22-24

Just an example, but you get the idea

But the setups really ruin the closeness. The top 4 this season are impossible to catch because of their superior setups and driving skills. When everyone has exactly the same ride, the setup advantage goes away nicely and people need to focus on their skill more, as it is the only thing that matters.

Yes, i think the guys with time to setup and practice obviously do better.

What if we find a way to also make the track for the night 'random'? Maybe there is a website out there that generates a random number that everyone can see (if yoyu know what I mean)?

Then there will be no setup and no specific practice, so everyone will be in the same situation. It could add to the excitement...

I'm with Driver101 all the way on this one. The Lupos are incredible fun and don't take any setup, just basics. The guys who race in our championship r online all the time, most of them atleast 3 - 4 times a week. You can't tell me you can't put in a practice session sometime before the race to get your eye in and to find a setup that works for you. Please.... it's really not that hard, and it's something myself and most of the guys really enjoy. It's a huge part of Gt5, that's why they have setup, to separate the men from the boys! R we going soft here or what girls. Let's pick a car and race! If you can't get the best out of what you're driving, then find something you can handle. Lol

I'm definately with 101 and Canu on this one. Lately, Canu, 101, Silver, Will, Bronzo and myself have been "messing about" in them Polos and let me tell you it's an absolute joll. Like Canu said last week, it's been awhile since you hear the guys literally peeing in their pants while racing. The Polos allow for close racing and the penalties for a bad corner are not as drastic as they are with the GT500 cars. It doesnt have to be a Polo, could be the GSx4, but the point of the race is to make it closer. If anything, the Polos negate some of the skill. So somebody like scale will be under groot druk for the entire race.

Hey man the lupo's was fun last night. Didn't had the right one so Zuat sorted me out. THANKS ONCE AGAIN ZUAT!!!!.
The lupo's are slower than gt 500 so the set-up doesn't play a big roll. The slip stream on these cars are so effective that even with a standard setup you can keep up. Last night I ran a standard setup with canu and driver who always have great setups and it was possible to keep up until I made a big mistake. We where 4 ppl in the room and every lap had 4 different leaders.
I can only emagine a group of 12 to 16 lopo,s on the track. Maybe we sould switch of the mic's to keep the swearing to ourselfs LOL!!!!:mischievous:
Tracks with longer straights will also be fun with all that slipstreaming on hand

OK the people have spoken! Lupo's are easy to get, and setup doesn't really make much difference, so 1 X Lupo cup is on pre-order.

Now... Do we make the track for each round a random-draw from a pre-defined list before each round of the series?

Hey Homes, personally I don't think it matters how much u practice, the Lupo can only go so fast and that's that. I run the same setup(which suites my driving) on every track with the Lupo and it works. The only thing you have to change is the gear ratio to accommodate for more or less top speed. Really easy. I like Drivers idea about a sprint race and a main race with a pit stop and reverse grid order. But then it's nice to practice on the track to decide on your strategy. No pp ballasting is needed because of the reverse order grid. The only bonus points given should be for the fastest lap of the race. Say if someone is running at the back of the field getting a slip, or is not going to score any points for his race position, can stop a second or even third time during the race for fresh tires and try do the fastest lap of the race for a bonus point, and will have a major speed advantage with new tires. But there should be no other handing out if easy bonus points. That wil keep the championship tight! :)

I would also like to see everyone in the same Lupo, last night there was a difference between the models.

Canu and I have the race spec 03 (I think).

I would love to see the pit window period introduced. Awesome.

Also....run a full upfront calendar again. We can practice like we do now, its great fun and you also get to measure yourself with the top guys before the race.

The good thing about knowing where you going to race is that you can get a feel for what you are going to do on the night. You can run a couple of practice races to gauge tire wear, with a two slot window period, you can then take that into account. Also after the sprint race, maybe you not so quick, so you tactically finish behind to start first in the main race, then hope to hold the field behind you.

Theres just so much with that format to think about. Race 1 should be less points for race 2. Making the feature race the one to win.

I can go on and on....

Hey I'm excited already, it's cool when the racing has tactics involved. It's not just a rock up smash and bash, you seriously gotta out think your opponent during the race. It helps being fast in your Lupo, but it's not always the fastest guy who wins. If you get your tactics wrong you can go from hero to zero in a 1 lap.
