what a race, best race so far.
well done canu, making a storming run with 60 points from last two races, now the nsx'x are becoming the one to beat. driver is surely the most consistent so far finishing 3rd every race, well done.
did scale pit twice? if he did he did very well. i saw a few guys losing it on the last corner before the main straight, ouch.
looking forward to monza, championship is really getting tight,
top 4 positions very close now. i think scales is 1st with 89 points and 4th Canu with 77.
Thank you everybody for a fantastic race.

Now I'm completely out. I'm devastated, don't ever again want to get experiences like this. My tires wore out faster than yours, this is not even fair competition anyway. The one-make was cool, but things are getting already ridiculous.

carbo i think the competition is very fair, considering scale gtr leads the way by 1 point to a nsx, then driver gtr minus 9, then canu nsx minus 12, then silver gtr, then yourself nsx, so to me it seems is very closely matched, what makes it interesting is that certain tracks will favor certain cars, tire wear is an issue with the nsx, but if you look after them you could make them last for half the race.

ally were using up his front tires in the first few races, but then he turned of the power steering and the wear went away, not sure if you might have the same problem.. but to be honest we would miss you if you dont finish the championship, so dude please reconsider. a few guys get together every night to practice the following weeks track, so maybe join us as we all try and help one another during these practice sessions, you are very welcome to join us, i will send you an invite when we start practicing monza.

greetings

Fantastic race guys.

Canu.....jeeeeezzzzz dude, you have found a groove bud, on a roll to the top, well done.

I must just add that I think last nights race showed some great sportsmanship at the front. Canu and Bronzo waiting for each other after slight mishaps, these guys were so close that one would end up waiting for the other, so much so that it allowed me to join them at one stage.

The three way fight for the lead was super clean and fair, this is what it should be like, brilliant stuff guys....thank you

@ carbo....dude, whats up in your head man. Just because the last couple of races you haven't been at the front you wanna quit. I dont get it ??? You now say this is unfair. Its not at all. Its a great challenge and the racing is the cleanest you will find. I am not gonna be one to beg you to stay, but I will say that you are a fantastic driver full of skill, it showed in the last series. Now stop your nonsense and come practice and get yourself to the front. We all want to race with you.

👍👍👍👍

Morning all..... what a fantastic race! Thanks Bronzo for waiting after our coming together, that's truly in the spirit of racing and I wish everyone would have the same mindset and race as clean as you did. Well done! Pity you and Driver made mistakes in the last few laps cause it could have been a cracker last lap. I feel for homes, missing the race and all.... I seriously don't mind running it again next week if you want. But it was cool having your commentary. Lol Please reconsider Carb.... you will be missed! Come practice with everyone during the week, it's great fun. Things are getting tight and the racing is getting better and cleaner. It's funny.... the cleaner you race the faster you go, and the more you stuff it down the inside recklessly on every corner, the slower you go and the further you finish down the grid. Bring on Monza..... Honda rules!

hey canu, yes it was good fun racing split seconds apart for nearly 50 minutes. i did not really make a mistake apart from last corner last lap where i nearly went onto sand, the reason you got that 1.6 seconds gap was more down to petrolhead giving you a slip when you lapped him, i could have been right behind you or maybe sneaking it over the line if i did not have that close call on the last corner...lol was fun - lots but i actually wanted you to win because we all getting 7 pp and you not. so i expect a one two again on monza, deal?

btw carbon, i saw on replay you were using medium tires, myself and silver have tested these tires and they dont help at all, weird cause you would expect them to last longer, but they dont and they are just making you go slower.

Hey Bronzi.... oh ok now I understand, I wasn't looking behind the last 2 laps, was just trying to keep it together cause my tires were shot. When I checked the sector times you had fallen back, so I figured you made a mistake. But had you got a better run out the last corner on the last lap I recon it would have been touch and go 4 the win! It was the best race ever, thanks again. Ja let's try battle for the lead next race again and keep the Honda domination going. Lol. But be careful, my teammate is extremely quick around Monza!

It could be really close as the slipstreaming will be crucial
but I'm practising Monaco and nurburg ring more lol

It was a really good race to watch. Hope I can stay connected at monza.

Here are the provisional results for round 4.

I has a thought to day as were doing a night race why dont we on thurs day have a changeable weather race

Cool idea, Monza's a little blank so a rainfall would make it more interesting...

Using the green zones still bugs me. I didn't use them when me and Bronzo were racing, and that was a notable reason for me to lose time. Sure I COULD try to get accustomed to cutting the turns, but that's still not really my style...

No...leave Monza as is, we were on track last night and the racing is super close, throw in rain and I think it will break up the close racing.

I mean it could start of dry and end up wet so being unpredictable could mean that some of the faster guys might struggle giving us slowys a bit more of a chance

on another note what do you think of doing a driver of the week and a couple of other things like awards for certain things during the seasons events
e.g.
best come back in a race
most desperate defending
most consistent
most helpful driver

That sounds good.

👍

I think most of us r just struggling to have a good clean race, and although rain will make it interesting, it will increase the collision rate, and more so for whom ever is running down in the pack. So let's keep it dry. I like the rewards per race idea..... why not have one for the guy who makes upthe most position from the start. Say 5 bonus points per race or something? I think we already getting a bonus for consistency.

As long as it doesn't cause dangerous situations when guys are desperately trying to make up positions quickly.

I'm racing at Monza, it's a simple and fun track...

You're probably right Carb.... it probably will add to the desperation, bad idea, oops. I'm glad u have changed your mind and have decided to defend your title!

well here's my entry for most desperate defending

me defending a bit much during trial mountain testing

Jeez..... talk about closing the door, that was more like slamming it shut. Maybe you should lay off the steroids haha ah

I know that was when every 1 hadn't set up the cars and so I was competitive
how ever if you have any footage of something like this post it on youtube and shove it on here

Will, I remember that practice race well... oh the disappointment in your voice... :)

OK everybody, its time to announce this weeks bonus points system. It is designed to reward consistency and is for everyone but will favour those who were not consistent last week more (if you improve LOL).

In racing there is a simple formula that works out something that they call 'consistency'. It is your Average lap time minus your fastest lap time. The closer it is to zero the better.

Being super fast does not help you to improve the result, it is based purely on consistency. So, whether you are at the front of the race or the back, it makes no difference. You can be near the front but keep making mistakes and your consistency rating will be far from zero or you can be at the back of the race and make no mistakes and your consistency will be closer to zero. Usually the drivers near the front are there because they make few mistakes so their consistency is usually close to zero. So hopefully this challenge helps you all to realise that consistency makes a HUGE difference to your overall race performance.

Last week you consistency calculates as follows:

RisingSunCupconsistency-1.jpg

This week, anyone who improves their consistency gets a 7pt bonus and for every whole percentage point improvement over last week you get an additional point (based on a percentage of 100% for an imaginary consistency rating of zero)

For those who did not make it last week you will be given an average consistency of 5.11755806451613 to beat!

Stay on the track and don't panic if you are loosing ground to those in front. Just stay consistent.

A BIG SHOUT OUT TO WILL for collecting the lap times from last week and sending them to me ;)

Very cool idea Homes.... that should promote better racing. I hope you've been practicing teammate, the boys r clocking some serious times during practice!

homes I think you could go with larger text as im disappointed with the scale of the shout out
however after a fair bit of practice 7pp doesn't make a whole lot of difference with your times as providing you keep drafting you don't need more bhp or downforce

You r quite correct Will.... but it all depends on who you r drafting and whether you can run clean laps with them. Everytime you pass someone going into a corner you go slower and you lose the tow of the guys ahead. Timing the pass correctly is very important!

guys i just looked on gt5 site and here's a maintenance timetable
Start: 09/08/2011 17:00 GMT
Finish: 09/08/2011 23:00 GMT

they changed the days so maintenance is on tomorrow not to day so no worries
and canu it'll be who ever is 5th or 6th and im gonna use my 7pp on cote de zur
as we cant use it on nurburg ring
