The Rolex Sports Car Series /Help Plan Season 2!/

I think I only use TC on LMP cars. They actually use TC in real life. I use it if it's allowed and I feel like saving tire life out of corners. But in this series, I haven't used TC for the R8 at all, thanks in part to it's 4wd. Usually with the LMP's I'll use TC between 3 and 5. They have a lot of power so it really doesn't hinder your speed much, it just helps the tires from spinning off to nothing. Also, to answer your question Unrealanthony, I'm not sure what car I will run next season. I think we should allow the Toyota and Bentley in addition to the new Group C cars. But if they aren't there I donno what I'll run. The XJR9 seems interesting, but it's not very competitive from what I've experienced with it. Might go with the Sauber as my first choice unless the Bentley is available.

The sauber could be, because I think, actually, the Bentley is too fast and, I preffer a challenge with a car not so fast. For the next season we have to achieve a closer class, between cars!

James and I are thinking of getting rid of one of the peugeots, and in its place putting in either the sauber c9, or Mazda 787b.

And Anthony there will be a re spec of all dp cars for next season.

Wait wait, so are we including a bigger number of DP cars next season?

Too much Dragon's Dogma over the last couple days has me out of the loop, severely.

Nope, a Peugeot will get the boot for either the sauber or Mazda.... You may want to read the last 3 pages... Lots of info!

I personally think you should run the GT1 cars for the Daytona prototype. Either that, or the group C cars.

sooo... back onto the main topic. What times for people at Le Mans? How about tyre wear?

Tez mentioned a 4:01, and assumed that he'd get down to a 3:58, and assumed AGAIN that Audi would get a 3:55. But, if Audi gets a 3:55, Seth will be the man to do it, perhaps...

Getting 5 laps in the Bentley. If I remember correctly, 3:34 was my fastest. Not the fastest, but I think the draft will keep me close.

I said about 4 mins is my limit, actually, but reckoned the Audi's would get 3:55-3:58.

Just found this:

The story in GT has been Ferrari for the past two races, with AIM Autosport Team FXDD’s Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato steering their Prancing Horse to two straight victories and an early championship lead.

Hmmmm, Polarbear, what's going on, bud? Maybe Season two really will be the Prancing Horse's season in GT5, but, Season one will be the Prancing Horse's season in real life...

Also, +1 Storm.

*sigh* going to need to take drastic action with my 4:05's -.-

also going to need to see if i can keep smooth enough for my tyres to last that extra lap

Slowing down will speed you up! Try running for a 4:06, but, braking sooner, and hitting the throttle sooner and smoother. That could drop you down. Has Kevin tested with you yet? I'm wondering if he's having the same problems.

Kev's probably not having any issues at all, he's driven a Corvette a lot more than Nirv has in other areas.

In conjunction with what Melan's told you, maybe... holding back on the first few laps, trying to get a good balance between speed, time and tyre wear so that all two/three times are similar. Then, on the stint you know you'll need to pit in on just go hell for leather.

Just... make sure your tyres will last a half lap more than you intend, otherwise any mistakes you've made that kicks the tyres into wearing too much will leave you limping on the lap you'll want to pit. And Sarthe is THE MOST unforgiving to a limping car on our Rolex calender.

Man I need to improve. I can go 4 laps on rs, but my best lap time is 3.38.3xx That is with abs on 1 and no other aids.

I mean, though, that racing drivers are fastest when they're smooth. I mean, I can run 6:40s around the Nordschleife in pretty much any car, while I'm angry, but, in terms of a race, it's the worst sort of way to drive. You'll find yourself plowing everyone else off track.

Let's say you want to run at Monza. You can go for a 1:42.xxx, but, you're more likely to make a mistake. Run a 1:43.1 for five laps, and you'll be in fron of the 1:42.xxx guy. But, if you can run 1:43.2, and you back off the throttle application and try to roll through the corners more, you could get a 1:41...

Ok, this is annoying but brilliant at the same time. The Evora is the only car where I make a mistake worth 2 seconds on the second sector, and I match my Viper's 4:01.
