The Rolex Sports Car Series /Help Plan Season 2!/

Excuse me, while I try to find a new piece of ground to stand on. You just ripped the ground of the entire series out from under my feet.
I don't appreciate you saying things like that, my opinions are just that so don't think they're automatically law
It won't happen, the core cars in the series can't aren't able to be race modified.
that's funny as well, because i just gave the list of cars that're race cars in this game were using as street cars. It's supposedly Grand Am but were using a Viper that's not IRL. We don't use the RX8 which is one of the most popular GT cars on the grid. Nor do we use the M3 or Camaro- BOTH of which have a dedicated race car in game. The ONLY car we use in GT that doesn't have a race car variant is the Ferrari.

Maybe you took my statement wrong, I don't think that adding a LM car here, a rm Camero (which doesnt look like the car does in real life...) would make things better. I am on your side with Mel's statement though, it was a little overboard. But I also think that since Grand Am is based on street cars, it makes sense to have street cars racing. Since we're all kinda going at eachother now, I also dont think it makes sense to put in racecars from different series together from a substacial gap in years (which is also my concern for mixing lmp and group c cars in DP) But after all we can all think what we want...

I'm not taking sides, but I do like Seth's idea. The cars Seth named are in Grand Am, except for the Lambo of course. The only two cars that are running in the GT class in our season and that are in the actual GT class in real life are the Ferrari and the Audi. There are Corvettes but they are in the DP class.

The Camaro RM looks closer to the ones that run in the Continental Tire real life series. Which is why I said the Camaro LM could be used as its closer to the other GT race cars. All the cars I mentioned are basically the same thing as the real life G.A. The R8LMS, the RX8LM, the M3GTR etc. are closer to the real life G.A cars than the street cars in GT5. All you have to do is add ballast to 1300kg and run like 450hp. There wouldn't be huge differences like we see with the Audi now thanks to 4wd.

To everyone:

We're trying to evolve what we have. I know you all have a opinion, but the gt class was fairly close. Seth: why don't you try to change the ALMS? They use street cars. Everyone: Again, we're trying to evolve what we have, not make a whole new series. We're redoing practically the whole DP class this season. GT will also be re spec'd for the second season.

Edit: oh and Seth, you're fast in everything you race. Itcc is a perfect example... You whipped out the scirocco and were a solid second faster. You have to account that you are THAT good when saying GT was a run away. The team championship was, because 1. Both Audi drivers showed up all the time 2. You guys are both very good!

Back on the subject of Sarthe. Ant I did manage to to do a 3:32.995 when I was testing today with fuel consumption on (even though I messed up what I was trying to test).

Yes!

Any of the DP drivers have times from the toyota and bentley? Those seem to be the contraversial cars.

I'm on right now. I can confirm (for me at least) 3:34.3xx

Just ran 33.1. But thats all out. Not careing qbout tires. I suspect it can be faster. But nowhere near 26's like Ant can.

The ALMS USED to use the race cars like I mentioned, but they stopped for some reason. Probably no Porsche or Ferrari race cars is why. Plus people couldn't control them. I was guilty of such at first with the R8LMS. But now I know a little more about tuning it's not a problem. I don't see how I'm labelled as trying to change this series, while you're doing so yourself with new regs and new DP's. Might as well get new GT's while you're at it! The Camaro could compete just fine, as the Evora.

Speaking of that.. I just got #120 in the Time Trial @ Toscana... Again, those one lap bursts of speed I can put together... SIMPLY INCREDIBLE.

Well first, gt was by far the better of the two championships this season (for obvious reasons, if you need I can list them) so I really don't feel a massive change is needed, you do. And James and I almost had DP be all group c cars, along time ago. (wwwaaaayyy before you even knew this existed) so adding one isn't a new thought. At one time I had three spec'd (c9, Minolta and 787b) I don't have those setting written down anymore (didn't make it to my iPhone). And because the DP class had not only attendance woes, but now were having issues with someone saying one car is faster than another. And the person that drives that "too fast" car is driving almost the same times... And getting rid of one car isn't a big change, if it does happen. One of the peugeots would be removed, so if anything it's adding a new car and just removing the oreca version of the 908. I am opposed to the idea of having group c cars mixed with lmp cars, so I guess you could say I'm changing my view to re specing the current cars and changing over to group c cars another season. If we do switch to croup c cars, I would like to change to a 3 team (6 car) DP field. That may be not fair, but it's more realistic. And removing the viper all together and adding the m3 and either the camero or evora.

What bugs me, is that we're spending time on the Rolex series, but, not on the Conti TSCC. Grrrrrrrrrr. Learn to prioritize! ;P

So I have been reading through some of the previous posts and stuff.... Will we be going to spa?? If we don't, we could just pick a gt track.. I'd have to look when I get back home...

*by gt I mean Gran Turismo track*

It is not planned for us to be going to Spa, but it would be cool! Maybe a race after Laguna Seca at Spa? Kind of like a post season fun race?

I was just thinking, that the eiger norwind or however you spell it.. Is a little bit similar to spa.. The asphalt only one I'm talking about... I'm guessing the Le mans is this saturday no? I'm so sad to say it but I will not be home till mid Sunday....

Awh, well miss ya!

Guys I am really slow. My best lap so far is 3.36.3xx. I am averaging around 3.38.8xx. The Peugeot is a killer whale to tune.

How do you have it set up right now? I can maybe try to help or give you some tips on how fast to take certain corners. I have to warn you though, I don't know how to setup cars for tracks.

A change is a change. I didn't say it needed it. I said I was THINKING about running race cars for this series. Long before you even created this series. I've been on these forums for a long time. Back when ALMS first switched to the road cars I was disappointed and was thinking of starting a Grand Am series of my own with the race cars that were used in the previous season of the ALMS championship on here.

Anyway, on topic of the upcoming race- I ran a couple laps earlier offline, did a 4:01 with full fuel. I think Online I should be able to do that again, probably go a little faster. So probably a 3:59, maybe a 3:58. Was testing the DP Toyota, I didn't have it all the way to spec, but I ran a 3:32 with it. I was bouncing off the rev limit so I didn't reach the top speed I could have. I think a 3:30 or lower is definitely possible.

It looks decent in black ;). I think the RM premium version is nice, doesn't even have a wing.

No, I know, but, the Camaro LM race car is:

And the Rolex Camaro is:
