The Rolex Sports Car Series /Help Plan Season 2!/

james6653
No as soon as I go home to my ps3 I really wanna get back to GT5

Cool story, shall we make a day out of this?

You guys can have your 1v1 and then we follow it up by a fun challenger tc race at Daytona or the high speed ring?

A thread; dedicated to James bashing?

UPDATE: James can't do the race until Tuesday.

Anyways, I think it's only fair to discuss the details:

Mitsubishi Evo X

-no restrictions- tests tuner and driver aspects

-5 laps- who wants to see the Daytona 500 between two cars?

-damage on full- This way, we won't feel the need to spin each other

-spectators- if one driver hits the other driver, that's not a good show for the spectators. I think the spectators could request a restart.

-draft- draft should be put on the weak (realistic) setting, because I don't think we need to have the chance to catch up, after too big a mistake. It's an oval, for god's sakes!

-Penalty-full strength.

How about we make it a day where everyone takes care of there grudges with other drivers

I could go to jail, for what I want to do to Seth. between the ALMS series, the "I'm above the rules" attitude in the ITCC, and the 10 point season defeat in the Rolex series... Some serious 🤬 would go down.

Look MrM that day would give everyone a chance to do whatever they want to eachother work your problems out that way things don't get dragged into season 2

*wishing there were a facepalm button on here, as there is in Skype.*

Oh no he has lost it.(oh nothing new there.) He's talking to him self now.

Wow. You really are stupid, aren't you? I made a joke (the thing that makes you laugh) and posted it on GTPlanet, as a soliloquey. So, don't worry about it, James, I guess you just don't read enough... Or, think enough... or, even really learn enough.

Well.. For anyone looking at this thinking of joining...

This won't happen again. Those two don't like each other (CLEARLY) and they will have to get their acts together in time for the start of the second season. I didn't try to stop this one too much, because the season two thread is going up fairly soon. Our races have been incident free, for the most part. (we've had a bump as our biggest crash so far) and James doesn't show up, so they most likely won't be a problem for the rest of us.

James, don't start commenting saying how you'll do better. We've heard it too many times.

Mel, let's try a bit harder to keep feelings off of the thread. I'll make a Skype chat or something where you guys can hash it out.

And to any ALMS member that's reading this...

I'm very sorry tempers from here boiled over to your thread, I can't help but think it all comes back to me. I really am sorry for these two bringing their cat fight over to your thread.

UUUrrggg, then he'll creeper text me too! And that's not cool. That's why I live in Rheinland-Pfalz; I like the small population density. I like being away from people, like James.

And isn't the nurbugring there too?

Heheh, details! Aber, ja. The mountains here... Stunning; it's no wonder that the Nürburgring is here. Walking here, without falling, is challenging. Now, imagine driving a car, without slipping up.

That must be the life living in the Rhineland.

So I had one of those great ideas right when I woke up....

As many people as possible should do a 5 lap race by themselves in each of the new cars. They post their fastest time and what spec's they ran the car at. NO TUNING AT ALL! Once we get 2-3 people, I'll then average the times and well make adjustments accordingly. It'd help if we all did this seperatly so there aren't any crashes or anything. This would apply to both classes.

That simulates qualifying pretty much. I start my runs this afternoon. I will have to switch setups to one that has no tuning on it though. Good idea.

I've been doing full outlap-inlap stints, but the cars generally last about 5 laps in between the outlap and inlap. I'm running low on GT5 credits now though, what with re-buying all the GT cars for season 2, testing for ITCC, and whatnot.

I've been running the same tuning setup (minus any of my normal tweaks) around Grand Valley Speedway on all the cars I've tested, so that its pretty fair. I could run a stint around Daytona or Laguna, but as it stands my cars aren't broken in.

I suppose if you want us to just have the cars running their stock suspension I could revert that, but you need some tuning on the cars because otherwise certain cars will have too soft or too hard a suspension setting, and too long or too short of a gear ratio for certain tracks.

And by "people run their fastest times with the specs they use..." do you mean, "people run the cars with as close to the specs cnd researched, without tuning..." by any chance?

If you need someone to provide a "testing setup" I already have one, taking into account suspension and transmission. Any extras like LSD, Torque Diff, Aero (anything that can be adjustedthat isn't the susp. or trans.) I kept at stock.

I think your making it too hard. Just change the transmission, thats all.

...soooo just put the cars to correct hp/kg. Add all the parts you would normally add, just no adjustments right?

I would have read back a couple of pages to find the answer. But there's a lot of other "stuff" to sift through.

That's how I had it before, just added them but didn't bother adjusting them. I'll be giving out info in a minute. You'll be seeing times from:

Mazda Rx-8 Type S - 1:48.863
Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR - 1:46.973 (1:45.721 unofficial)
Audi 4.2 Quattro - 1:47.389
Audi 5.2 Quattro - 1:48.213
Chevrolet Camaro SS - 1:48.480
Ferrari 458 Italia - 1:44.856

Polar, just to keep you posted, I'll be putting lap times next to the cars I've listed in my previous post. Once I'm finished I'll quote my post to make it more recent (plus its quicker than rewriting it all again.)

Times are for Daytona Road Course.

Excellent! I'm on my way to best buy (router is broken) so once I get back, I'll be doing my own tests.

did anyone keep track of how many races everyone made and wins and podiums or record the races
