The Rolex Sports Car Series, Season 3! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

I'm running a sequential setup on my DS3 for Manual Transmission. My right analogue is my gear level, up for downshifts and down for upshifts. I'll give no ABS a go at the Brickyard GP this week, just leave it on though.

I don't think that changes anyone's settings anyway. I think everyone is good enough to use manual with the ds3.
I mean you can't select a "Manual only" option. I'd have to police it... And I suck at that xD

I think we'll run a preseason race with no ABS, probably the weekend after the spot race.

Oh, storm, you can select your Season 4 car :D

I can't do no ABS. My ds3 has no sensitivity left. It's old. That's a reason I run traction control because it's either smash the button or nothing. I'd get another but I'm pressed for cash since I'll probably be moving here soon.

Not saying you should do this, but how I would run no ABS would be like this:

Left joystick- steering
Right joystick- up-accel down- brake (For added control)
L2- Down shift
R2- Up shift

I haven't used a DS3 with GT5 ever, but that seems like it may work once you get used to it :) Just a suggestion though.

I have no issues with abs off. I've run hundreds of laps without it. You can still set the brake balance to make it work. I'm using the G27.

As for manual trans, I'm just lazy to shift.

My right analog stick gets stuck if I move it. A little piece broke off cus my son threw it and it's caught inside, so if I move it forward it gets stuck. lol- if I press it in it gets stuck too. Not permanently, just takes a second or two to go back to normal.

HOLY COW! You must be REALLY lazy to not even use the paddles!!

LOL! No ABS- no problem! Manual gears- WOW, let's not get crazy here!

LOLOLOL!

@Seth- My friends gets stuck in the upper right corner whenever you touch it xD He threw his controller on the ground while raging at COD :P

That's tickled me, I'll be laughing myself to sleep tonight. :)

As for the button config. and whatnot, it's almost like a flappy paddle setup for a DS3 in a way. I find L2 and R2 easier to feather the throttle than with the analogue stick, though, because there's a little resistance on the squeeze which helps once you attune to it.

Funnily enough though, for NFS Carbon I used the R.A.S. for accel and brake, but I was using Automatic. See L1/R1 kinda works too for shifting up/down since its more of a click, but I don't trust them to do that job properly 100% of the time. Personally though, I prefer my "sequential" config. because the layout makes sense to me. Plus if you watch the Rolex 24 cockpit views, you'll notice that the shifting they do is identical to what my Analogue stick is set to. A bit of added reinforcement that I'm NOT crazy. :D

Seth, what's the condition of your triangle and cross buttons? You could theoretically reconfig the triangle button to downshift and the X to upshift, but that would also depend on how you'd reassign the whole DS3 layout to compensate, if you wanted to.

I'll stick wit the layout i have now. I'm used to it. I'll make due without TC, ABS I probably end up sliding in the braking zone.

You'll be shocked when you see how much you can really get on the brakes with the right brake balance!

I'm pretty sure no abs clearly gives the wheel people big advantages, but I'm against all driving aids when it comes to real life racing. Unless the cars have 1000+ horsepower, there's no need. Top fuel dragsters don't use any aids. Neither does Grand am DP. Nascar doesn't have aids although there's not much use for them anyway lol.

1. Damu (Great job!)
2. Storm (Nice work!)
3. Sail (WOW! First season!)
4. GHS (We’d Love to have you return!)
5. TBW (Drop round won’t kill you this season!)
6. FH (ALWAYS Welcome!)
7. Lout (Nice first season!!)
8. Shin (C’mon back for season 4!)

I believe you forgot about me. I want to join GT next season.

When's the decision expected. I need to sleep on it at least!

Not until Sunday. But earlier is better. Try the cars out tomorrow (if possible) and try to get it done by tomorrow...

....that goes for almost everyone!

Season 4 thread is all ready, just needs to be put together. Anything anyone would like me to put in it?

Intro
Changes
Class structure
Car specs

...we need some more discussion on the thread again, And I'm not sure how to get it back!

Boobs. They generally get a lot of attention.

I think posting pictures of those is frowned upon here... Good idea I must say!

OH, I thought about you guys today! There's this app called llama or duck... Pictures come up and you have to hit duck or llama depending on if the picture is a duck or llama! It's awesome! It's funny too! Instead of high score, you get a high squirrel! You get .8 seconds to hit one, and if you're too slow it says "llamas donut have that type of patience!"

Check the Grand Am thread for the pics I took. It took me an hour to get them from my phone to here :grumpy:

Dragsters have slicks that have more than 17 inches of contact patch, so they hook up like its nothing. LMP's and GTE's use traction control but no ABS. They also have pedals and can modulate the pressure they apply to the brakes. Not everyone on GT5 can :(.

Yep. Too bad LMP is a thing of the past at least in America after this year.

Well, Sebring will still happen, and I think they'll try to get a race at COTA, since its a F1 track and the FIA has a 'big one' for F1 purpose tracks...

In the grand scheme of things, until someone wants the Ferrari; I think up 'til 4th is safe to post their choice.

Personally:
Chevvy - Clearly the most comfortable for me to drive.
Audi - The most interesting challenge as I have yet to use a 4WD in this series.
Aston - The one I most want to work; Team Llama in a GBR car. Thus, a truly British team.

Saying that, I don't think Storm has set his heart on one choice so far, but in this call I think it's clear he won't want the Ferrari.

Actually, it should be if sail wants the Ferrari, 4th is safe. NO! That's wrong as well.

...for me nothing compares to this, Formula 1, you only have to listen that sound to fall in love, those engines really scream, fighting wheel by wheel...I don't know, I love F1 above all (over that everything)!!

Is it bad I dont find that as exciting/amazing or whatever as I probably should? Ever since i've really got into sportscar racing I've found it so hard to get into F1 :S
