The Rolex Sports Car Series, Season 3! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

I have this urge to snap up some tickets for Le Mans either next year or the year after. More possible in two years time as my best friend is getting married around the date the Le Mans 24hr race is scheduled, but fingers crossed for 2014....

Both ;)

I have had longer car rides. I would probably stop at the beach for a night.

I usually stay on the beach at the Rolex 24. We just ride back into town to go to the track. It's actually cheaper at some places on the beach than near the race track.

Yep :)

Beach is free for me ;) but I'd need a hotel...

I want to experience the Le Mans 24 too. I want to see all the track. Daytona is so well lighted at night that if you didn't look up you wouldn't know it was night time

Yes for 50 laps. Or do a set mileage that rounds upto 50 or so laps. Nearest racing event for me worth going to is the silverstone gp. Might goto monza next f1 season.

50 laps sound good?

I was thinking 55, but 50 might be better.

I would love to go to one of those races, you all are so lucky to live that close to the tracks. Barber is the closest to me and that's 7 hours from where I live. I've been to Talladega which isn't that far from Barber, and that trip there and back is one I definitely don't want to do again. And I have decided to run a paint scheme this week that is inspired by a car that I saw during my visit to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

I'm a 2 hour drive from Monterey. (Laguna Seca) One day I'm going to attend a Rolex race.

My dads friend (my race buddy) goes to all the races at Laguna seca... And Sonoma (Infineon)... I mean ALL the races. We talked about racing the whole dang time we were at the indycar race at Watkins glen. He's also the only person that also enjoys walking through the stands and looking for old f1 shirts.

I'm the guy who walks through the garage and takes craptons of pictures of cars and drivers  I'm sure everyone at the Rolex 24 says "Oh here's that guy with the crappy cell phone camera." I also am not afraid to try and talk to the drivers either. I've talked to people I had no idea who they were until after I talked to them.

I had a solid convo with some continental BMW team guys. Picked up some bolts from when they were practicing their pit stops :) got to sit in the car (no picture- dad was taking a leak...)

The uk is crap for proper racing. We have british touring cars and 1 f1 race. Silverstone is like a 4 hour drive from newcastle. I would love to have a track day at laguna seca

When I was about 8, the IMSA GTP guys were doing a showcase where they actually got out on the track and had a 30 minute race. Here is a picture of the car I sat in. (It's the red #63 Mazda)

I've also sat in one of the Sahlen's Mazda's.

I sat in a DP (last gen) at last years NASCAR race. Turns out, the doors slap shut after a certain point.... Yea.... That was embarrassing...

I've never sat in a DP that actually had an engine and a seat. I really want to get behind the wheel of one and take it for a spin. It would pretty much make my life if I got to race one in the Rolex 24.

I sat in one. Hit my head, got stuck... Getting in... Needless to say, it wasn't my most proud moment.

If they had a brake failure then we know who to blame....

Thanks guys you're just making me even more jealous. The only interesting racing related thing that ever happened to me was when I was like 7 I got to sit inside the wheel of a monster truck.
