The Rolex Sports Car Series, Season 3! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

The type of thing I was going to do with the vids was something I could limit to 2-3 mins with no fancy software to make.

Hence why I said about making intro video for next season, maybe a very short one for this season. Although.... by next week is a push. :D

Just to get slightly back on topic here, what's gonna happen to GT class? I made it painfully clear that the Mazda is easily about 1.4 seconds behind the Evora on a track boasting 1:15's as an average for the faster guys in the other cars. Granted most tracks will have longer straights, but me being 1.4 seconds quicker in two different cars on a short track? I was running 10 less bhp in the Lotus too, which'll account for about 0.2 seconds. If Cape Ring is no different, then.... I dunno.

Then the rx8 will be scrapped for a corvette.

I see what you're saying. This Saturday, we will be testing at many different tracks. I will test in GT, so I can get some numbers. We don't want a car to be as dominant as the Audi was in season 1.

Lets get a 3 track list for this weekend. Each race will be 15 min, with 10 inbetween.

I'm more interested in testing. I would love to race, but I think more than 10 minutes are needed in between for setups. I want to get a setup for the RX-8 and Evora just for comparison. If any other car specs are in question, I will test that car too.

As for the 3 tracks, I say Indy Road, Nurb GP/F, and Autumn Ring. That's a big mix of fast, intermediate, and slow tracks in terms of max straight line speed. Indy Road is a lot of long straights with sharp turns, Nurb GP/F is a good mix of straights with sharp and sweeping turns, and Autumn Ring is a lot of sharp and sweeping turns with barely any straights.

Well... Testing, at this point, should be done on your time, this is a pre season race...

Lets have 2 tracks ready, incase cape ring is too.... Not right...

Fair enough. Indy Road and Nurb GP/F for the other 2 tracks?

I'm inclined to try out the Nissan Z34 in the place of the Mazda. I'll report back with the following specs:

410 bhp / 1290 kg

Corvette mate. No Z34.

We'll try cape ring, if that doesn't work, Nurb.

The Z34 isn't in the GT class IRL. It's in the GS class in the CTSCC though.

Okay, I've been milling around with some tunes on the Mazda, and even when to using a Supercharger to a little less of a massive drop in the Torque Curve for a trade off in overall torque. At Autumn Ring, I managed a 1:15.7

Lotus did 1:14.7 @ 405 bhp @ 1300 kg when I practiced in the lobby on Saturday.

Audi did a 1:15.4 @ 410 bhp / 1320 kg.

Ferrari did a 1:16.1 in race conditions with 400 bhp / 1350 kg (so god know's what I'll do with the recommended specs).

Corvette did a 1:15.8 @ 410 bhp / 1300 kg initially, but with a bit of tweaking did a 1:15.4

Camaro did a 1:15.2 @ 420 bhp / 1320 kg

Pretty sure you can do mid 15's in the Ferrari. I think Ant was close to 14's with it.

I think the problem with the RX-8 is that the boost kicks in when your exiting a corner. So it makes it easier for the rear tires to break loose. You have to make sure the nose is pointed straight before you mash on the gas.

Maybe its the gearing and the RPM's? I always have short gears tuned to stay higher in the RPM's. Maybe this is why I had such a hard time with the car.

Ahhh man, the Z06 is in now? :( Whoever gets to pilot those will be lucky.
It's an option for the replacement of the Mazda RX-8, if testing proves to show it is sorely outclassed.

The way my current trend of things looks, you'd say it's pretty even, but I am running between 5 (Audi) and 10 bhp OFF most cars apart from my own. With the Ferrari, I ran 10 bhp off and 10 kg on for the 10-lapper at Autumn Ring, and given my best lap was under racing conditions you can bet it'll be faster by far in qualifying.

Not sure I could hit 14's with the Ferrari. Somehow I don't drive it well.

+1 on the insight with the Mazda, it does that too much and I can't always catch it, even with a DS3 and +7 steering sensitivity. Though, I ran 1.0 camber on both front and rear for my 1:15.7 lap. I noticed the Lotus I had was at 1.5 rear camber as standard, which I have an lncling had something to do with the easy high 1:14 I ran. :D

Hey gang. Is the series starting this Saturday? When I hear Cape Ring and Autumn Ring, I get extremely violent, lol. Can't stand those tracks. Anyway, just checking in.

GT5 works fine for me and has done for ages :dopey:.

Though Mule from Canada had some issues last Sat with the same problem. (Could connect to GT servers etc)
