The Rolex Sports Car Series, Season 3! Finished! Thanks Everyone!

I did a 1:49.1, but that was with a full fuel load. I'm pretty sure cnd was on about a 1/4 when he did his, as I noticed a few times he jumped into the pits.

I'm easily faster in the other cars, mind, and with the Lotus I'm probably as fast as my Mazda using Hard Tyres. For the rest of the cars, despite not testing them since the spot race, I'm guessing high 1:47's.

In response to your question before you DC'd from your lobby cnd, I was using the Supercharger and messed around with the gearing a little.

I did the 1.48.9 on a full load of fuel. I've not tested any other GT besides what we just tested. I would think that the Mazda would be fast here because of the long straights. I know Shin had top 3 pace the entire spot race.

It'll compete during the race thanks to drafting, but the quali laptimes should be a fight for the other four cars.

Is the tire wear at least on par with the other cars? I know Mel had some tire wear issues last year.

51's seem kind of high. I think 48 is what race pace was and 47 was fastest lap.

Tires were not an issue for me in the spot race. The battles on the straight leading into turn 1 brings out plenty of cautions to stay on fresh tires.

i'm struggling to even get 1:51's in the audi... this race is going to be tough

I might can spare some time tomorrow to test. I'm pretty happy with the Sauber where it is, so I can help you out a little.

I'll be available after ALMS tonight which is probably about 4 A.M. for you, and I will be available tomorrow about 2 hours before the race :)

I'll join you for some testing before the race tomorrow then. I'll feel like death if I stay up past 4.

We're dropping races, huh? I always like to think that it screws over people who consistently score 1-2s, but who knows, maybe it might turn in my favor this season. :sly:

Looking forward to this. So far it seems to be the most organised/well run championship I've been part of.

Edit: I saw some of you guys talking about doing laps on low fuel, does the fuel (or lack of it) actually have an effect on the car? Apart from the car stopping when it runs out. Derp.

It can, but I think some testing into how the wear on the tyres is affected with less fuel should also be considered.

Good point. I learned that the hard way last night in the ALMS race.

The car won't stop when you run out. You cruise at 30MPH when you run out. I found that out the hard way racing against someone who was in GT Academy this year. I've noticed that it can improve your lap times when you do run low fuel.

Better than stopping completely! and i'm on gt5 now so i'm going to open a lobby up and do some low fuel testing. Will post the number soon.

I was running a race at Daytona oval and I ran out in the last turn. After the smoke cleared, I still finished 6th after the 9 car crash .

Last night in the ALMS, my car got too unbalanced because of fuel depletion, and my front tires wore out much quicker than my rear tires allowing Storm to pass me.
