Should we have Team Owners in Season 3?

I think horns should be banned for season 3. It's a simple fix in the controller configuration menu if you're on DS3. All you have to do is disable the left joystick so that it does nothing but turn your car.

Good idea!

What would the penalty be for using the horn?

So basically a 1 spot drop of race-finish position? Isn't that more harsh than 1 second of qualifying?

1 second in qualifying is hard to do. -10 points is much easier to enforce.

A warning for the first offense. 5 points for the next offense and 10 points for each offense after that.

Alright, so -10 points if someone honks their horn. What if they do it repeatedly?

And another penalty - If someone bumps another person and gives the position back should they get -10 points for causing a collision and if they don't give the position back they get a 20 point reduction and a miss of qualifying?

How is it hard to do? Tell them why they're time seems to be one second slower.

By backing out to see what their time is, (I'd be the one doing it) I would lose the time i set. As it sounds easy, just post your time, people are setting faster times right up until the race starts. So the penalty may put someone in 4th in class, by the time the race starts, they may really be 5th or 6th. The fix for that would be; say qualifying ends. That may not work because someone would stay out and do a quicker lap and screw the whole thing up.

So, it gets confusing quite quickly.

Alright. So if someone happens to honk their horn they lose a position's worth of points (10).

So what would happen if someone gets hit repeatedly and complains about it? Seems like a problem we have in season 2, so should the complainer get a race suspension or points deduction? What about the driver who hit the other complaining driver? Do they get off scot-free?

If you keep honking your horn, chances are you suck at driving too, so you'll have other penalties. Not sure why everyone's going off on this horn thing... I haven't gotten any complaints yet. You are supposed to tell me...

So, depending on the horn infraction, a points deduction would be implemented. If you accidentally tap your horn, you won't get a penalty, but if it's for any period of time, or it happens a few times in a race, you will get a penalty.

Who was honking their horn today?

Because honking your horn would solve so much anyways. Keep cool, and if you have a problem with someone, report it to Polar after the race.

ME!

I mean, getting hit without return of position, that's the only time I honk my horn. Oh, and also to congratulate the winning driver.

Someone almost spun in front of me in qualifying; I can't remember if I honked, but the lights were on full-blast "Move, you psycho!"

Somehow I got pole. :P

Horn honking, which I've done at certain points this AND last season due to my DS3 setup is accidental, but I can avoid it by taking the command to the button its assigned to away. However, it is off-putting if done frequently and intentionally. -10 points is harsh for horn honking. Maybe, 2-place grid drop for the start of the next race? If it still persists THEN go to penalising with points.

With regards to bumping, it depends what the result of the bump is. If you're putting people beyond the track edge, either into a wall or with 2-4 wheels off, or it results in a loss of control of a person involved, then the other guy should be yielding the position back. Ideally, you should be learning from the first instance of having to yield, as its a sign of, "I need to start thinking and picking my time to strike better from now on."

Generally I don't have a problem with trading paint, or getting slight knocks, as long as I don't suffer damage to the car or I don't heavily lose out as a result. Sure, I'll be p*ssed of I get knocked off, but I like to think I'm a good enough driver to bounce back from that without reacting woefully. I seem to have a good idea of whether it was intentional or not.

Given the stigma I brought upon myself, I think I finally bucked my ideas up and drove safely last night. Its probably the first race that I haven't been at the source of a ****storm. I drove like I was still under probation, having not actually attended my "probation" race at Indy.

Back on topic, how will we go about the third class in Grand-Am next year? The GX class will be in the series. Should we place the Evora and the RX-8 in the GX because those are the 2 manufacturers who will be participating in GX next year?

But... 16/3 isn't a even number...

But not everyone can participate, so you might get 3 DP, 5 GT, and 2 GX. Lonely racing.

I don't know what the spec for GX is, so I don't know if the cars are faster/slower than DP and GT. I was wondering if you guys wanted to keep this as close to IRL as possible.

I still think we should figure out a qualifying system where we can have more people. Maybe first come first serve spots in the room?

I do, but we don't know enough about the class yet, and we just don't have enough room in gt5's online to justify making a third class, in my opinion.

We have never had a full room, so why is this necessary. If we see that we have excessive interest for next year then we will look into something like that. As for now, advanced qualifying is excessive.

Ya maybe if we didn't have a driver/car limit maybe we could get more people. Also maybe we should look into maybe moving are time.

Then a constructors championship wouldn't be needed.

And it's *our* and by some other posts, there is a difference between *allowed* and *aloud*.

Why move our time?

Why move our time?

By driver/car limit I mean not having two drivers per car. We should move our time so maybe more people can make it. Maybe our time could be moved to either before or after the World Rallycross series.
