WOW! We're on to season 4! Who would've thought this would last so long?

Anyways, this thread is for discussion for the next season of Rolex! This season should be the best yet! We'll have some new GT cars, and new DP cars too!


So, I'll start with the GT changes!

Since the Mazda isn't being supported by Mazda in Rolex anymore, it's a good excuse to get rid of the punk! The Evora will be shown the door too since it is really a GX car, and I've got a plan to make the series use all GT cars.

That being said, Season 4's GT field will be as follows:

Audi R8 5.2
Chevrolet Camaro
Ferrari 458 Italia
Aston Martin (DB9 or V12, not sure yet)
Chevrolet Corvette Z06

Now for the Discussion parts, first DP. We will not be using the same three cars that we did this season. We could use three different Group C cars, or we could use the Nissan R390 road car, and have teams designated by colors, or we could use the R390 racecar, Mclaren f1 racecar, and the Mercades CLK racecar thingy. Let's discuss!

Another discussion point is tracks; any tracks anyone would like added? Is everyone happy with the number of races we have now?

I like the R390 road car idea. With the GTAuto wing, it looks very similar to the Daytona Prototype.

3 different Group C cars would be ok as well.
 
I'm for Group C or R390 Road Car. Using GT1 is a bit silly to me.

What would be the new Group C's? 787B, XJR-9 and another one?

If we went the other group c route, I'd suggest the 787B, R89C, and the XJR-9.
 
There aren't any other Group C cars. :lol:

Maybe keep the Toyota? It's really easy to get, the 787b is premium, and the jaguar is dlc (for premium...) so those are pretty easy to get. Hopefully that would boost DP numbers.
 
What would be a tentative spec be for the R390 road car? I know it can't get any lighter than somewhere around 1050 kgs.

Min weight and 502 HP.

We may have to make it have more power since its not a racecar.

Another topic of discussion: I almost want to switch to racing hard tires and run no abs. I know this might not suit everyone who is taking part in this series, but I would like that challenge.

I'm game for no abs. I think people will be more open to it once they see how much easier it is with a reduced brake balance.
 
I would not be against at least trying no abs in a preseason race, but I think that if we go with it we should keep medium tires. Any idea on changes to the draft yet?

I know everyone doesn't use a G27 or other type of wheel though. That could make it difficult to compete with the people who have a wheel. I want no abs and racing hard tires at least for DP. That's as close as we can get it to what it is IRL.

The draft will again be in order of points, and if you switch classes you go to the back of that classes order.

I don't mind the mediums, racing hards wouldn't bother me, but I think no abs and mediums would be better.

That's fine with me. Racing hards might last the whole race :lol:

But man, you're getting quick! Definitely the most improved racer in DP! I hope we can have some good battles in the second half of the season!

Glad to hear that. Every race I'm getting more confident and feeling that I actually can keep up with all of you and battle on track. I actually had a battle with Cnd for some laps on the first start.

Before we get crazy off topic, would anyone be able to have a pick up race with no abs?

You were definitely quick enough to hang at the start. My car got better and better though. I ran a 1.44.8 on lap 34. I ran a 1.42.06 as my fastest lap.

Back on topic, I'm ready to try no abs.
 
Since we are changing the GT cars around a little, we need to come up with a spec for the Aston Martin as well as the Corvette.
