Posted this before but I have more info this time:
1999-2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR SuperSport:
Chassis 17
Chassis #01, probably the most seen of all CLK-GTR models
Not sure which chassis this is, but it is indeed a SuperSport, i'm assuming this is chassis 13, I believe they are actually the same cars in all 3 pics though I have no proof until I see the dash chassis plate.
Which means that the Chrome Blue one was more than likely wrapped blue by Koji, kept that way for several years, sold to Bingo Sports, purchased then sold 3 years later in Germany, whereabouts currently unknown.
Prototype press chassis #2, this one actually still wears the same plates.
This one is also a SuperSport but i'm unsure of what chassis it is, owned by Mohammed Bin Sulayem since atleast the early 2000s:
Chassis 19 which for years was claimed to be a SuperSport though I didn't see proof of it until it was revealed by Mechatronik who confirmed that it is indeed a SuperSport:
Visually, despite there being claims of a 'additional front splitter' the car looks exactly the same as a 'regular' GTR; with the only exceptions being chassis 17 having the turn signals on the mirrors and chassis 01 having the GT1 racing CLK-GTR type pillar mirrors.
Performance is slightly higher than a regular GTR with the SuperSport having a confirmed 664 HP though there have been claims of 720HP though I have yet to see Dyno data that confirms this. The SuperSport also a 7.3 liter V12 instead of the 6.9 liter one in the other models. They also have slightly different gear ratios with the SuperSport being geared for 238 MPH though I find it extremely unlikely for it to ever reach that speed.
Known/Confirmed SuperSport models are:
Chassis 01, owned by B.C. IIRC this was the first SuperSport model to be made, but chassis 17 is the only 'True' SuperSport as it has the SuperSport badging on the side.
Chassis 17, which used to be Red in Dubai I believe ---> at some point in between being fully red and getting the carbon spoiler it ended up at which is the photo in my profile pic, I have more pics of it somewhere----> Spoiler changed to Carbon black either right before or right after the car sold ----> Garage the car was housed in collapsed on the roof giving it chassis damage, it was repaired and repainted to silver with red interior and was again sold at the same dealership as my profile picture ----> sold in the last configuration to a new owner in Florida ---> Pops up for sale in Florida at a bargain price -----> Sells a year or two later -----> Whereabouts unknown but this is the model i'm most interested in in particular as it is the only model with the cool SuperSport badging on the side:
The ECR Exclusive Car Registry claims that chassis 17 resides at HWA headquarters in Germany but I have found no such proof of this statement being true but then again it very well could be as chassis 19 was claimed to be a SuperSport for years and no one has seen it since 2006 until Mechatronik both confirmed it being a SuperSport and unveiled it to the public again after almost 2 decades.
Chassis 19 which is the dark blue one retained by Mechatronik who stated on their Instagram that their aren't any plans to sell it, they also at some point had a racing CLK-GTR for sale which is even more rare than the SuperSport.
The press kit car
Prototype chassis #2, which is now owned by someone in Asia, Hong Kong I believe.
Mohammed Bin Sulayem's CLK GTR which is also a SuperSport though I am not sure of the chassis number, it has the red interior similar to what Chassis 17 now has.
The Blue Japan one which I believe is chassis 13 though I am not exactly sure, this one used to be owned by Koji Aoyama who had one of the best car collection i've ever seen. I'm pretty sure this is the same one that was being sold by Bingo Sports a few years ago that ended up in Germany with the "CLK-GTR" windshield banner.
For the ones that I know are a SuperSport but have no proof it is because the SuperSport sounds distinctly different from the regular model. The CLK-GTR dyno vid on youtube is of a SuperSport model which I believe is the prototype press chassis 2 as that same model used to be at SPS automotive pretty often in the 2000s though if it is a different car then that actually means there are 6 SuperSport models, but there are atleast 5 for sure.
Fun facts:
The Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition CLK-GTR model is based off of SuperSport chassis 01, the CLK-GTR model from Forza Horizon 1 onwards is based on chassis 17 and Project Gotham racing 3 and 4 are the only games to actually feature an actual SuperSport model, more than likely based off of chassis 01 due to the missing badges and small details other than the pillar mirrors not being modeled on the car ingame, it also has a red paintjob option as a nod towards chassis 17.
Random thought, but I wonder if a CLK-GTR owner could still get their car converted into a SuperSport today?
