Some great racing over the 3 sessions so far this week, with 10 racers turning in times. Weescotman managed to cover the purple time through Wednesday and Thursday with a very impressive 2:16.954, but was toppled from the time sheet late last night by Theewar.

We ran several 4 lap races, which takes just under 10 minutes, and finished the session with an 8 lap tyre change race. Tomorrows race will be 28 laps, with a minimum of 7 on the SH tyre. Suzuka is brutal on tyre wear, with degradation starting from lap 3, so strategy's will have to be well thought out.

Final practice will run from 8.00pm tonight.

Ade, i was wondering, due to my absence, have i been replaced by megg260?

Sounds like a higher spec Megg?! ;)

Ade, just to confirm, what's the lap count again for the race?

* Edited * sorry I have noticed the lap count stated in an earlier post, 28 laps.

Classic example of a mistype. Whoever thought of putting the number 3, 3 spaces down from the 6. GC Gary will understand this.

Awesome final practice tonight sees Soka take the purple with a 2:16.5xx. Full final times will be posted tomorrow, along with the usual race programme details.

Jammyrex, the lap count for tomorrow will be 28 total laps with a minimum of 7 on the Sports hard tyre.

Cheers. Been struggling with this circuit quite a bit! Just had a few more laps on my own and I managed to get down to a best of 2.17.931 so I'm slowly starting to get to grips with the circuit. Lack of practice has hurt me this time around, but at least that's getting towards the ballpark and an improvement.

Wow that's quite some laptime posted by Soka there!

I'm having issues breaking under 2:20. Any hints gratefully accepted.

With the arrival and excitement of the new wheel, I had completely forgotten all about the car's suspension setting, so, at monza I never tested the car with a soft one. Only after I saw Warren lapping about 2 secs faster than me at Suzuka I thought of changing the setting to a soft suspension. The choice is obvious after the first esses, but the oversteer still persists. The ballast needs adjustment towards the front end in order to counter with some under steer, but not all the way. LSD setting is crucial too. A high initial torgue will balance the car as you lift from the throttle just before you enter the corner. A high acceleration sensitivity will give higher speeds on the exits, while both of these higher settings will provide with some understeer which is welcome. Set the braking sensitivity low because most corners don't even need for the braking pedal to be pressed all the way. Adjust your brakes based on how you want to tackle the final chicane. It's the only place on track where I press the brake pedal all the way. None of the above is more crucial than tire ware though. Ha ha!

Race day is here again. A great final practice session last night saw Soka set the pace and Capt D getting into the 16s. The pressure will be on Weescotman tonight to try and increase his 9 point lead at the top of the championship table. Tyre strategys will be key in this race as we have seen some rapid degradation on the SM rubber.

See you all on the grid tonight gentlemen.

Race postponed until next Sunday. Sorry guys.

We had a great big practice session with some awesome races (and lap times) and some awesome pile ups. Good fun and the race will be worth the wait!

With the kerfuffle concerning Ade's Internet, last night's scheduled race became a well attended practice. It gave me opportunity to crack under my benchmark and gave a mix up of the front runners once again. With Theewar snatching the purple time.

I would also like to take this opportunity to officially invite you to enter the second series of Type R Cup. I have deliberately not posted in the thread to give you all here chance to join before I open the doors more publicly.

The events format will be longer, on a par with Skull Crusher and weather will be on for 5 of the 8 races. Meaning some may last up to two hours as races will be governed by distance.

I hope to see a few familiar faces

Race postponed until next Sunday. Sorry guys.

I've not been able to practice last week and the race on sunday was doubtful. No one likes to see a race postponed but in my case i would like to say a big thank you to ades router.

OK folks. Once again apologies for having to postpone the race on Sunday. My new BT home hub arrived yesterday and is all set up and working. As you can imagine, I was called all the names under the sun from the Mrs and kids. I became known as "Ade the internet killer" :guilty: just because I pressed the reset button.

So race #6 will be this Sunday.

That will only leave us with 1 week to prepare for race #7, or if you would prefer we can leave it an extra week to give us the usual 2 week break to allow for practice (considering we will be upgrading the car, this might be the better choice). Please let me know what your preferences are.

Hopefully some of you will have taken advantage of this extra week and got some more practice time in. I will be hosting sessions on Friday and Saturday as usual, however Friday will not be a late one for me as I have overtime on Saturday at 6.00 AM.

Lobby will be open from 8.30pm tomorrow.

I don't mind when the next race runs. There was also a race this month in Skull at silverstone but as GC said,we have a lot going on so Skull might end up on the Scrap heap.

Race #6 Suzuka circuit. Take 2.

Race day again chaps and the delayed Suzuka event is here. The postponement has allowed some extra practice sessions and seen a mix up at the top again with Will stealing the purple from Warren.

I was surprized that Goodwolf didnt take Wills purple time. During the last race yesterday, his car was clocked passing Warren at 357mph, doing a wheelie.:eek:

Onto tonights race. Once again the usual time table and format will be followed.

Finally, once again I apologize for the delay last week. Internet seems fine again with the new router. See you on the track tonight.

Well we waited a week for this race. Trouble to begin with as we couldnt see everyone, so after a few resets, and a reduction in the lap count from 28 to 24 we were off. The final reset seemed to do the trick with 14 starters and 14 finishers. Some great battles in the infield with strategys having to be re thought on the fly due to the new lap count.

Full results and standings will be published tomorrow, along with the final upgrades for the last 2 races.

Now its champagne time for the top 3.

Well done guys.

What a race!

I was fighting with six drivers tonight. That Ade-Soka sandwich was too hot to handle. 👍👍👍
Competition in this season really showed here. Door to door racing at its best. Just what I needed.
Going through that last chicane together Ade, was fantastic stuff.

Congrats to Will, Warren and Cpt Gary!

Yeah, don't know how I got in there Dubravko. Ouzo and Suzuka don't mix guys. Thought it would be better to start on hards tonight, see if I could handle it, and was actually fine during quali, doing 19's and keeping concentration. I was thinking about how great a race it's going to be. And it started perfectly. P5 at the start, and a place up after GC spun on the esses. Then I took a look at the lap count . It was ouzo time :dunce:. Number 24 didn't compute :boggled:.Brain malfunction occurred . Did I miss something? Obviously, but how did it happen? Did I get a message? Did I misread the thread? Guess what: concentration lost. I think I spun a dozen times since then. Even went out of fuel. Bummer. Had a couple good battles along the way though. Great race guys! Well done to Will Warren and Gary. Three musketeers indeed. Here's to you guys! (It will calm me down too)

Suzuka finally got under way, albeit a week late.

Firstly though an explanation of why the lap count was reduced. The fixed lobby threw up an unusual amount of transparency for some drivers. After exiting the lounge to set up for the third time after a full reset, I decided on the reduced lap count as time was getting on and we were nearly 30 minutes behind schedule. I knew that by reducing the count by 4 laps it would still give us approx an hours worth of racing. I tried my hardest to inform everyone as they re entered the lobby, both verbally and with a text message in the lounge.

Race report

I started 9th on the SH tyre, as it seems most of the field did aswell. Got a good start and held my position through turn 1. GCs spin gifted me a position and I then spent several laps on Sholesys rear bumper, with Goodwolf and Jammy close behind. Some great laps and the positions didnt change. Mad up another place when Megg went off at spoon and another place after Sokas 1st spin. Sholesy managed to pull a gap on me before the first round of pit stops. The pit lane was busy and Jammy managed to jump ahead coming out back onto the track. I still had Goodwolf hot on my heels and Cobani ahead. A great battle with Bo ensued, but I managed to get past as we were on different strategys his medium tyres were worn. As the race went on I still had Goodwolf in my mirror and after the second stop we were joined by Soka. Some awesome door to door racing followed for what seemed lap after lap. Eventually Goodwolf made the pass and I thought I was going to be a victim to Soka aswell, until he dropped back. I enjoyed some really nice racing in several mid field battles. A great evening of racing. Thank you gents.

Results.

RESULTS #6.PNG

STANDINGS #6.PNG

So Weescotman managed to increase his championship lead to 11 points clear of Capt D and Warren closed the gap to 2 points behind the current Champion. With 2 races to go, can Will hold onto the lead, or will Fuji and Spa throw up some surprises?

Races 7 and 8.

Please note that due to race 6 being put back by 1 week, the next race will be in 2 weeks on May 31st. This will allow us time to practice, as well as allowing the SCAR teams to compete in next weekends VLN events in the GTPlanet endurance series.

OK, so now we move onto the final 2 races of season 5. Now is the time for the final upgrades to bring our 2011 Elise up to S Cup R specifications.

ELISE S CUP 220.PNG

Please add the upgrade in the graphic below to your cars and adjust the BHP to 220 using the power limiter. You wont need to alter the ballast weight, as the carbon bonnet and window weight reduction will bring the car down to 885 KG.

Well done, will. And warren and gary 2nd and third. Fantastic racing, really enjoyed it. 2 silly mistakes on the first lap put me paddy last. Chuffed with meself to finish 5th. Could have been 4th but i couldn't keep jammy behind me. On certain parts of the track i could put some distance between us but you closed up in the esse's really quickly.

Brilliant!
