The Things That Annoy You

Not being able to go back to tire selection screen during pitstops.
I hit Dont Change on the tires because it loves to default on that on spa 1hr last night, as it started to rain at turn 8 and it got heavy just as I entered pits.
So I ended up puttering around spa on slicks at a ungodly slow pace of 40km/h.

What are the little things about GT7 that annoy you the most? Here are a few little things that annoy me:
-Having to create a livery to change the colour of a car
-The game forcing you back to the home screen before going to another section of GT Auto
-Not being able to fit every wheel to every car
-Lenient event restrictions
-Lack of proper city courses
Oh boy, where do I begin 😂
-Rubberbanding
-Terrible penalty system
-The only way to earn a reasonable amount of credits is through glitchy ways. (Not even ridiculous amounts of credits just reasonable amounts)
-The fact we were told we were getting amazingly realistic AI and yet its just ripped from GTS and we have to wait years for the good AI.
-Most of the wide body kits are extremely rushed and just look like they used some mobile phone app to slightly extend the wheel arches. I understand this on some cars but all cars that have a reputation for tuning should have real custom wide body kits like rocket bunny and stuff like that.
-When buying new tires you have to go back to the main menu
-Races don't tell you what the weather will be so you can be half way through and it chucks it down with rain.
-Custom races earn pocket change
-Sport mode also earns pocket change
-Sport mode is hard to play cos everyone griefs because their is very little incentive to play properly due to low race rewards and the game is trigger happy for penalties. People go on their to mess around instead of playing properly or they receive a crappy penalty and give up then decide to grief other players.

These are just the ones off the top of my head. I am sure if I started thinking about it I would find allot more.

There is so many issues and things that are all wrong with this game, which tells me it was very rushed game.

I've changed the thread title because they are a few big things that annoy me and I would rather not complain about it in the general thread.

I have a massive bone to pick with the small amount of events that are currently available in GT7's career mode. It may be good when you start playing but after you've gone through everything you realise that it doesn't have a lot of content. We have a strong selection of cars that should allow for a decent variety of events at all sorts of tracks, but this isn't the case. Where are the one-make races? Where's the MR Challenge, Boxer Spirit, PD Cup, Like The Wind, Japan 90's Challenge, Stars and Stripes, Dream Car Championship and All Japan GT Championship? Why would they leave such events of out the game? We have the cars, we have the tracks and we have the tuning shop so why oh why are we sitting here waiting for these events to show up? There is no excuse and I'm very frustrated by this waste of resources because it indicates to me that PD are totally out of touch and will only do the minimum to appease us. Not even that in some cases. We shouldn't have to wait for events that should've been included from day one and have a whole slew of cars just sitting there doing nothing.

Engine swaps being hidden behind an impossible roulette system. They should be readily available to purchase.

Lack of alloy wheel manufacturers.

Bolt on exterior parts or lack of

The roulette system in general.

Free runs online not contributing to daily marathon.

Inability to hand hosting of a lobby over if you leave.

Lack of proper legend cars and manufacturers such as Lotus, Noble, Caterham, Morgan, koneigseigg even Vauxhall's and Opel's and the classic fords such as the seirra cosworths both variants and the escort

Too many VGT.

Considering buying an Xbox just for Forza to get my fix.

If GT7 does not improve soon an Xbox is worth buying.

Engine swaps should be available to buy.

That's on you. Whilst it doesn't tell you the starting weather beyond what is shown in the background the weather radar provides the information halfway through a race and thus is less of an annoyance. The only issue is that the weather moves too fast.

I wouldn't say rushed, they had five years to work on it after GT Sport. And the development of GT Sport itself started in 2013. They haven't been rushing for nine years, they've been lazy. And they've made some awful decisions along the way aswell.

I would just like to be able to de-select things like weight reduction and engine mods when tuning. Unrealistic, yeah, but I now have 4 Camaros just to meet PP limits for different events. (OK, that was a shameful admission. Yes 4 Camaros. 550PP, 600PP, 700PP, and a ZL-1)

If it wasn't rushed the game would have been it a better state but with so many issues about GT7, means they released this game far to soon with bugs and glitches.

you could use different tuning sheets and use the same car, don't you ? It is an excuse to buy more Camaros :D

Things that bother me:

  • Having to go to the Tuning section when I want to buy different tire compounds. This is so tedious.
  • All the rain. I mean come on, just about every long (or simulated to be long) race features rain. That's not realistic. And is only made worse by (see below)
  • If time is being compressed for a short race (to make it contain more elements of a long race) then we need the weather radar to look out a few hundred miles. We should have the ability to see any rain in the area for the duration of a race. Or at a minimum the weather forecast for the race. It's also dumb for a storm to briefly dump water on the track, and have the lighting change to reflect time of day, and yet the offline sections of track remain wet? Come on, if you're speeding it all up how about we include evaporation on that list.
  • The roulette wheel. Show the true odds of actually winning something other than the lowest value prize. Because they sure as heck aren't 1 on 5.
  • I don't understand why the online lobby system is worse than GT5, GT6, GTS. How is it possible to not be able to change the event/track/settings in a lobby without everyone leaving and restarting?

I guarantee if they did this they would be inundated with people reporting it as a bug that the car doesn't downshift when they want it to! GT still has a lot of very casual players so it makes sense.
Well, yes, I agree. Besides, the game doesn't simulate damages or mechanical failures anyway. However, if PD really cares about educating people about cars, car culture, proper driving techniques, tuning, etc., then this should also be something they need to educate people about. They can put in some sort of audio/visual cues whenever a downshift is denied due to engine over-rev so that people will know that it's not a bug in the game.

Clutch pedal doesn't function with some manual transmission cars:

'95 McLaren F1 GTR
'93 Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI

There are probably others but those are the 2 that I have found so far.

Circuit Experiences - the whole track challenges. You mess up slightly in sector 1 and clip the grass aaaand off you go back to the menu.
Just invalidate the laptime and let me finish the lap to practice, dammit!

Oh, and I forgot - mid-engined GT cars that drive like crap. Understeery at medium-ish speed, while at the same time WAYYY too tail-happy at low speed hairpins and such.

This is exactly what I was saying when the game 1st came out. There was so many unique events before like rotary engines, beetles and campers, Formula... Now its just road car or race care with a PP restriction.
The worst part is that races aren't even difficult to add to the game. If they wanted to in a week they could add an abundance of races. Or they should just make custom races a viable way to make money like it is in Forza. Yh a small amount of people mite find a way to get a few extra credits but who the hell actually cares? As long as they are enjoying the game they paid for, or does fun come at an extra price these days? People are gonna find ways to get more credits anyway like they have now.

Is that because these cars don't have a clutch irl? Some cars are paddle shift. I don't have a wheel so I don't know if its suppose to work on cars without one.

What annoys me with this game? hmm... how about its entire game design philosophy?

This was marketed as a celebration of the series' 25 years of history, yet it has omitted several features from games in the series past and 7 ultimately ended up playing like a game from the '90s rather than a game from 2022.

Expanding on this, for example you have this user interface which is very cumbersome to navigate. You'll often find yourself slogging through menus to get to where you want. The UI is also cluttered with some rather redundant things. Licenses should've just been removed from the game. They are under utilized and really don't teach you anything about how to drive or proper race craft. They amount of game credits you earn from completing licenses is so little that it is redundant to even pay you for them. Licenses serve no more purpose than to act merely as a way for people to have bragging rights.

GT Auto and the Car Tuning shop should've been combined together which would therefor prevent you from having to navigate two sub menus. Combing the two would make sense since they both aspire to be places where you can modify your car.

The lack of a quick menu prevents you from being able to change your car quickly and also be able to quickly navigate to one of the other game menus. Without a quick menu the player is forced to navigate in and out of menus wasting the user's time.

The Used Car Dealer and Legend Cars dealer is both an antiquated and redundant feature for a video game. GT Sport, GT6 and GT3 got it right by removing the UCD in favor of being able to buy any car a player wants, in any preset colour they wanted, with zero mileage on the odometer. This lack of UCD made it easier for players to acquire the car they wanted as well as a means of displaying all of the games content. With the return of the UCD players are now stuck waiting for a car they want to appear. I myself really wanted the Willy's MB Jeep, and by not ever having completed the mission races to get one I was stuck waiting 2 whole real world months for it to appear in the LCD.

Some of these cars in the LCD are priced exorbitantly high which is a clear tactic to push players to resort to micro-transactions to get the funds they need. It is either purchasing MTXs or grinding forever in races which are neither challenging nor engaging.

Which brings me to my next point. The lack of a daily login bonus and the obviously-rigged roulette ticket mechanic. Neither of which are beneficial to the player. The daily mileage mechanic is clearly designed to entice players to play the game everyday yet the roulette ticket mechanic is clearly designed to give players the least valuable prize, causing an imbalance in the general design of the game. You want people to play yet are not rewarding them enough for doing so.

... I could go on and on for days really. But those are my thoughts and things that annoy me.

Entered the World Touring Car 800 race at Le Mans. I'm at the start screen and it doesn't show what the tyre/fuel multipliers are. The pre-race information is terrible in general since you don't get the time or weather and have to start it to actually see, but to not have a Race Details menu here like in Sport Mode is very dumb.

Is that because these cars don't have a clutch irl? Some cars are paddle shift. I don't have a wheel so I don't know if its suppose to work on cars without one.
That’s how it’s supposed to work at least (no clutch irl = no clutch in game). Both these cars have clutches though

Anyone else having trouble in the livery creator? At some point it just glitches out... with earlier placed decals going all over the place by itself. Second livery i've got ruined now. This ****ing game...
