How come there's no Skoda cars in the game but VW is in it? I kinda wish there were more older sort of every day cars you'd see a lot of in Britain. Like Ford Ka, Peugeot 406, Ford Puma, Ford Mondeo etc that kind of thing. Forza has quite a lot of cars like that

Believe it or not, no.
The AI drives extremely Cautious and the way I race them, it’s more like a synchronized Dance.
Yet Dynamic and NEVER Static.
Of course they are predictable in the way how they Behave on Track but their approach always seems to be to Avoid Contact at ANY cost.
Same like I treat them. With respect.
I give space, I get space.

Maybe that’s the Reason why my Gaming Experience differs so extremely compared to others, most probably.
I guarantee and assure you, that most probably you wouldn’t believe that you’re watching an AI racing me or me racing AI controlled Bots when watching my aforementioned Replays.
They are an approval of the Quality how clean and smart the AI has been programmed.
If you accept to play by these Mechanics and adapt your Mindset and general Attitude you‘re going to encounter an outstanding Driving Experience.
Better than 99.9% I have experienced compared to racing Randoms in online Mode.
The AI Bots have the Typical Japanese Mentality.
They were programmed to drive honorable and respectful.
It’s crazy.
I‘ve raced the AI in Games like ACC or PC2 and it feels completely different.
More Western Style and rough and tough rubbing is racing orientated driving.
It’s hard to describe what I mean but PD have implemented an absolute Unique AI.
It absolutely and totally suits my Attitude and provides me some of the best offline Experience.
The Races are challenging and thrilling.
The AI doesn’t suddenly speed up or turn ridiculously fast Lap Times.
They don’t push or punt or wreck me on purpose.
Outstanding.

I've been putting custom plates on all my cars and what's been annoying me is that many of the Japanese cars look stupid when you put on the GT plates from GT Auto. Why does the front plate have to located on the left or right side? It just looks dumb.

Everything about this game annoys me. This is the game that introduced me to modern gaming. I have enjoyed every GT title that exists including GT PSP. I would rate my talent in the 50th to 75th percentile. I hate this game. I’m not sure which thing it is exactly but I just find it extremely difficult to enjoy this game. The best example is that I could compete in Sport, qualifying 5th to 10th on average. I can’t do any better than dead last in GT7 and the races are even worse. I’m not sure how or why, but a certain group of fans have been left behind and I have a feeling it’s bigger than you think.

Correct; this exactly describes what it's like to drive against tame and predictable AI. If you meet the AI on its terms or intentionally limit/challenge yourself to do so, of course the opposition will appear more competent.

That is not unique to GT7, as any franchise veteran can tell you. They haven't been programmed to "drive honorably" or meet your stereotypical perception of what "Japanese mentality" is; they just haven't been programmed to be competitive by human player standards, and I find it difficult to believe that the literal single AI programmer (Atsushi Hayashi) PD has at their disposal can do better on their lonesome.

If that's the kind of racing you enjoy most, great. But please don't justify it with absurd statements and questionable stereotypes.

I just wrote down my impressions and my Experience, as a Veteran playing GT Games since '97 I pretty much know exactly what I’m talking about.
If you don’t agree with them, fair play.
There’s nothing Absurd about it.
It’s my opinion. My honest opinion and I can prove it.
Although I disagree with your Statement I accept and tolerate it.
Like I said, the one Eyed amongst the Blind.
Nothing questionable about that.
 
I didn't like the fact that there ins't a arcade mode, where I can just pick a car and a track and just race.

I bought the game and wanted to do a comparison of gt sport in monza but I need to go through the whole game first and I am yet to see the track listed.

If a friend came to my house rigth now and he wanted to race in Suzuka he can't because there is no way to race in it unless I go trought the campaing first, even split screen is locked.

Split screen is still unplayable anyway. Player 2 will always have all of the assists on, and seemingly less power to the car too. You cannot change these settings.
 
Rain races! I am done with all of them! I ran 3 WT 700 races today, 1st was clear/overcast and had a good 6th place, 2nd it started raining at lap 6 and ruined a good finish . . . ended up 12th. 3rd rained from the start and completely blew it with an 18th place. I am done doing unannounced/unscheduled rain races.

Prescriptive selections for Daily Race B & C. Sick of just Gr 3 & 4.
BoP being a nonsense and seemingly has not been universally updated since launch.
No Brake Balance Controller in BoP races allowed still! Many cars uncontrollable and therefore both unsafe and unrealistic to drive in Sport mode.

If ever a game was desperate for regular interaction with the Devs, this is it. PD need to get their act together and encourage the people who play their game. A Community Manager would be a start followed by some form of player representation panel consisting of folk across ALL skill levels. No World Tour drivers & no streamers. Just “normal” folk who could represent our Interests.
 
For a game which requires connection to game servers, this game certainly has terrible servers.

At best they’re slow, at worst, they require a “Close Application” and restart to get it going.

Taking multiple minutes to even save a livery is absurd.

(I’m on PS4 Pro with FIOS 100/100 megabit per second that typically speed tests at 110 up and down)
 
I need to put those down somewhere or I'll get crazy. Some were probably mentioned:
  • No real way to reach GT/Polyphony support, that gives us impression that they dont give a damn
  • It's me, or roulette ticket is not 1 out of 5 chance as you would expect, but in 95% of the cases you'll get lowest money reward?
  • Why would GT tell me to refuel when I'm finishing last lap? Similarly, why would AI drivers refuel at the end of last lap?
  • There's no clear indication of the weather we could expect before the race. Give us a chance to get those damn tires
  • I'd love to see a bit more data after finished race. I don't even have a chance to check last lap time currently if that was not the fastest lap in the race
  • Time trial would be a lot more interesting, if lap times from normal races would be saved towards it. Make few checks to make sure those are fair (no shortcuts etc.), and there's absolutely no reason not to do that

Lack of standing starts in most singleplayer races
Lack of decent events that have a good variety of payouts
Lack of test run/qualifying as an option before a race
Lack of a decent event menu layout like the first few games had
Lack of custom race with AI when hosting a lobby
Lack of a decent roadmap for the game so we have no idea of what's planned

The WTC600, WTC700, WTC800 annoy me in place of actual real world counterpart events for each Group of cars.

Give us Gr.3 events for Gr.3 cars or Gr.2 for Gr.2s etc - not generic PP (now bugged) restricted events that OP cars can be detuned to cheese.

Where's the JGTC, DTM, Formula Championship equivalents?

Rain races! I am done with all of them! Get better at the game. Rain races are good fun especially with how they implemented changes in track surface depending on the weather, and manually pressing a button to turn your wipers on and off is a nice touch. Plus pit strategy. You obviously go WOT everywhere then wonder why you spin off the track and come last

Especially when you invoke tired Japanese stereotypes as a part of your reasoning. If you didn't want to bother responding, you could have simply chosen not to. Yet, you chose to ping me and goad me about it instead.

To you, the AI seems to be middling racing,
To me, they are the almost perfect example how I prefer and enjoy a fair and competitive Racing Experience.
Of course it doesn’t make me the King, but at least it makes me enjoy and appreciate the Creators Intention and MY understanding of a Racing and driving Experience.
If you can’t “ See“ it , well… being Blind doesn’t mean not seeing, it just means not having a clear or specific View.

I described MY Impressions and Experience racing against the AI.
I didn’t expect anyone to agree.
So it was you who firstly could have Chosen to not respond, yet something triggered you…

And my analogies are again MY subjective opinion.

But please don’t tell me what I should or shouldn’t say as long as I don’t offend anyone personally.
I play GT Games for 25Years now, I have played EVERY GT Iteration.
I breathe GT. That doesn’t mean I’m blind or biased in the slightest.
Quite the opposite is the Case.
That’s most probably the Reason why I simply have such a diametrically View compared to you.
Nothing wrong about that in my opinion.
I accept yours, why not accept mine ?!

Wow, that’s what happens if the Language you write is not your native one.

And that doesn’t mean that I revise my Impression.
I just wrongly expressed myself.
 
I played GT4 the other day and realised just how much we need a proper arcade mode. Being able to jump in and drive just about anything is great, especially when your time poor and don't want to go through the trouble of acquiring a car through career mode. I must admit there are some occasions where I want to do this and it annoys me that I can't.
