The Things That Annoy You

Well there only a few reasons that is the case:

a) Unimaginative race selections.
b) BoP not updated. Brake Balance controller still excluded.
c) Matchmaking unfair. Players being put in races where they are simply overwhelmed by higher ranked drivers.
d) Ladder anxiety caused by visible DR/SR.
e) Toxic driving with sportsmanship pretty much disregarded.

Now these things IMHO are all fixable. e) may take quite a while as this appears to be on the increase, encouraged by poor penalty system.

PD have made Sport mode & lobbies feel like an afterthought. Something for the die-hard GT Sport players to do.

It says something that 97% of the player base would rather pit their wits against wobbly AI than enjoy fair, competitive racing with fellow enthusiasts.

/rant ended. Sorry, but the blue touch-paper was lit. :)
Even if these issues are fixed, you won't see a massive upturn in player numbers.

Having the Styles feature for cosmetics only. It should translate to performance parts modifications with settings as well. Making 20 identical cars would be easier with a one click function. All the funds are there. It’d save heaps of time.

Game provided the opportunity. Players still needed to press the buttons.
The game provided the opportunity to have fun. Players pressed the buttons that were fun. Clearly that was wrong. Everyone knows that having fun is the wrong way to play a game.

Engine swapping cars is fun, which is exactly why Polyphony made it so hard to do. It's excellent design.
Games are not for fun.
Games are serious business.

The most annoying thing for me is to have to always re-enter the same criteria to find the lobbies I am in interested in. There should be an option to default to the last used options or save them. Plus, knowing the status of that race before joining, like in GTS, whether it is still in practice or the race has started already and on which lap they are.

What about permanent upgrades though?

What do you mean?
Originally I was thinking about shared cars (in your proposed situation) being setup with permanent engine tunes being applicable to cars without them, or vice versa. But now that I thought about it, your idea sounds like the state of cars bought/sold from Forza's Auction House, minus the auction thing.

oh. I'm just saying We buy a car from the UCD. Buy the parts. Go to the garge and tune it. Go to the Livery editor, create and save the style. I buy another of the same car from the UCD. Go to that style. One click should apply everything from the saved car. Tyre compound, suspension settings, gearing, weight, everything.

If someone wants to just apply the livery and style without the performance enhancements, that can be an option.

Getting too many 4 star tickets on daily workout :), usually 10 or 30 grand or if unlucky another car I already have lol

Regarding livery creation:
The fact that we can't quickly duplicate decals. We should be allowed to duplicate them in groups instead of 1 at at time. So if we want to duplicate one side to another, just select all the decals that it entails, then hit duplicate on reverse to copy it to the other side.
Also, we should be allowed to change the texture (glossy, semi-gloss, matte, powder) of decals independently. So if I want to do some stripes in matte but have all the other decals be glossy, that should be available.

Regarding racing:
We should be able to disable any part of the race info on the screen, not just "Display All", "Display Race Info Only", and "Off". We should be able to display only the parts we want. Make them all individually displayable or not:
Driver list: On/Off
Track map: On/Off
MFD: On/Off
I'd like to be able to turn off everything except for the info for the car I'm driving. I don't need the driver list or the track map displayed. If I want, I can use the Radar Map or the Course Map in my car's MFD. I don't need another track map on the screen. Also, we should be able to have a separate weather.....widget? on-screen that we can toggle on and off. Turn it off for races that don't have weather, and turn it on for races that do. It shouldn't be in the MFD; it should be separate. Maybe as a toggle ability with the track map. So instead of a track map, you could change it to the weather info.

Custom Racess - I wish that it was an option to associate a name and flag w/ the car in your garage so it didn't have to be changed every time in every custom race.

Grouping decals is huge. To make a design group them and then copy/paste/move them together is so helpful. The MLB the Show team editor has this functionality and it's great! Especially when creating text.

That's why I try not to use single-letter text (except for numbers). I'd rather just not have it if it means I have to put each letter on individually.

I really wish I had Illustrator so I could make my own decals.

And also be able to choose special colors on decals; so many great colors/textures and not be able to use them is so frustrating.

You don't need illustrator, there are many free programs that can create vector shapes and letters. Figma is a very easy to use one. You can write some text, create some shapes, export it as SVG, very simple. Just don't try exporting raster graphics as SVG.

The cockpitview adjustments aren't still saved for each car model like in GT Sport. Every time i change a car, i have to adjust the cockpitview from scratch cause what is good for one car can be undriveable for another car.

Still do not understand why we can't group decals in folders like we did with Sport. It's a pain to go through pages looking for what I want when in Sport I just looked up a folder and the decals were there, easy and well organized.

AI braking mid corner. I get the idea of trail braking but these are like brake checks, so aggressive and completely unavoidable if following close to get an early advantage on corner exit.

  1. Several things have started to annoy me, why can't I put a decal all the way to the edge of the window strip.

  2. . Online Lobbies: I just did the first two races of my league tonight all the cars are still bouncing around still. What's with the lack of racing in lobbies it's all Cruise this and RP that. I respect people's play styles but I feel like fewer players host leagues and lobbies on this game anymore. I find sport mode limiting on the types of racing and it does not keep my interest, more so now you have the pp tuning glitches.

What are the things about GT7 that annoy you the most? Here are a few things that annoy me:
-Having to create a livery to change the colour of a car
-The game forcing you back to the home screen before going to another section of GT Auto
-Not being able to fit every wheel to every car
-Lenient event restrictions
-Lack of proper city courses
The missing lobby status as shown below 1st image GT Sport blue text indicates lobby status, race, practice. 2nd image GT7 no lobby status, I waste so much time loading lobbies only to find the race is already in progress

So many things, in livery editor correct decal colour is not always displayed in the layer list. Wish I was able to select a group of decals and change the colour of selected at once to all the same colour.

The roulette prizes (fixed lowest value prize) is an insult every time I claim it. An insult to my intelligence, to the fact I have owned almost every version of the game, it’s just a slap to the face, every time.

When I load a ghost from the rankings list the ghost does not reset as in GTS, I do have the reset ghost option set.

We still don’t have the ability to sell cars as promised

So many more I will not list, I’ll just say Gran Turismo (the original) was a huge success loved by its fans, then every version after slowly removed the things that made it so enjoyable. The developers have their own ideas about what the game should be, while the community makes every effort to tell them what they want, sadly it falls upon def ears. Such a disappointment

Yeah have a habit of spinning me out when you least expect it, you bash them they keep going and you lose control lol.
If you watch the replay, you can see them turning into you. They are only concerned with keeping their line. What happens to you is irrelevant to them.

They also don't follow the same physics, and can push you with relative ease, while you can't really do anything about it.

They are by far the worst AI in any racing game. Forza Motorsport 1 has better AI than GT7.

Absolutely not! FM1 AI was horrendous, though I don't have much experience with other 2005 racing games. It wasn't uncommon to dodge them like dodging rammers in FM7 hoppers. Especially in Tokyo and New York, they'd often send themselves into walls and hit each other. They could not handle the Tokyo circuit at all, really. A straight line into a sharp 179 degree turn is a guaranteed disaster. If you weren't careful, you'd be their victim too, rammed, not shoved, off the track. Rio was also pretty bad with its occasional tight spaces that the AI couldn't handle.

Is GT7's AI good? No. Is it worse than FM1? No.

Maybe I'm looking at the situation with the **** stained glasses from GT7. Maybe I'm thinking of Motorsport 2 on the 360. I recall actually having decent races with them.

A little annoyance I have with the roulette payouts, which are not always bad.
Tonight I received a Semi-racing exhaust, not a bad gift. 👍 AND, it was for a car I already owned. Yay!!
Now, I knew this particular car already had this part fitted, no worries I thought.
But upon selecting said car, moving to the gift shop to claim, it says "part already claimed"!! WTF
Just because I've already PURCHASED a part, why should I be excluded from claiming a freebie?? I might want to buy another car...

Disclaimer I started with the first 2-points but then just started dumping all the things that annoy me about this beautiful game. What do you agree with?
  1. Sorting cars by miles is POINTLESS!! "Hmm what cars have I driven the most?" sorts list by miles "oh great, all these used cars I've never driven with 50k miles are at the top" - Why can't you have a "Miles Driven" or something separate?
  2. What tires are on the car when selecting them for a race - or! what tires do you own for that car? See a VGT with 700pp and think maybe this can be good for Tokyo race once I change these racing tires to SH's and a little detuning - only to select it and the default tire is SM for some reason. Give me a range or something or what PP increase/decrease each tire affects the car.
  3. Let me buy tires for a car from the settings menu so that when I am trying new cars on Sarthe 700 race, I don't have to back out of 20 menu's to buy inters and HR's, them and then go back to the race - in fact, just allow us to buy the damn parts from the settings (don't have to get rid of the shop option)! Allow people to tune their cars in as many different configurations to get the right PP setting combo.
  4. I use the braking zone assist (I smoke a lot of weed and some times need the heads up) but it's so buggy. Sometimes they match up to the correct braking spot, but the majority of the time, it's before or after and a good amount of the time, completely un-needed. Other random times, it doesn't show up at all for some reason.
  5. We have TC0 - TC5, 6-options. Yet, anything above 1 and you have no acceleration out of corners and TC0 on anything other than race cars has you spinning out with a slight throttle error.
  6. Add an organization feature, like folders, for decals/livery so you're not going through pages looking for the right one
  7. Allow "nicknames" for cars, especially with all the engine swaps and S parts for easy identification
  8. When I get in a car, let me see, easily and clearly, which races it's eligible for - maybe ones that are ready to go and ones that would need changes to the tires/PP settings
  9. Why in a logical world would you have courses with 1-2 races and then others like Tokyo with like 12 or something??
  10. Why are the payouts so vastly different when the race is maybe a few minutes shorter, but only 25% of the payout of the "big 4" grind races? Sardegna is suuuuuuuch a cakewalk, no weather and countless cars you can use to easily win. Sarthe being in the same boat (rain does increase difficulty) and only needing 7-laps to complete for $825k while the ONLY OTHER race on the track, a desirable WTC 800 race of 5-laps, pays like $150k!
  11. What is inheritably different about the race that they couldn't have a 30-min race for 500, 600, 700, 800 & 950 PP with either the same payout of almost the same? I don't think I'd play another game ever if I had like 30-races "to grind on" with 5 PP variations to each (150-combinations in this made-up scenario)
  12. Why are the Human Comedy races put in the dumbest spot with a 1-time payout in missions?!?!?!?!?!?! I've done them all and have majority gold with some silvers (**** lake m one though! It's literally 10x harder then the others). I'd like to go back and get golds, but I don't have the time to invest an hour in a race only to place 2nd and get $0 for my time and effort. I'd gladly take on the challenge if I knew I'd still make money even if I didn't improve my spot.
  13. Why is the free-roam camera in race replay's so restricted? Let me take a shot as if it were from a Helicopter, or from behind the pit wall

You can use favorite folders and name the folder what you want. But for some reason, you can't select a decal from anywhere else and send it to a folder. You have to do a search for it using Content Search, hit Triangle, then choose to either Add to Favorites (then select the folder form there), or just Add to Collection. If you add it to your general collection, you can't then send it to a folder. WTH PD?!

I know in GTS you could select any decal you already had and send it to a folder. For some reason, you can't in GT7. So yeah, that's annoying.
