The Things That Annoy You

It's always been the AI behaviour for me, my favourite being no matter what level they are; braking mid corner. It is a genius move, if you are close enough behind them you either shunt them or have to brake more and get a poor exit. It is marginally more annoying than when they go to block you as you overtake with a high closing speed. Both problems are always apparent because YOU ALWAYS START AT OR NEAR THE BACK AND HAVE TO OVERTAKE EVERYONE. I know, I know; It's been said before.

Today I had a new one, checking out the 'new' 2019 RS5 Turbo DTM. What a lovely thing it is and with @praiano63 's tune it is a doddle. I was basically on a lovely short shifting, fuel saving cruise when out of nowhere, BAM put into the barrier at high speed. Watching the replay, Mr Portilla in 3rd place caught up with my short-shifting self and took the final corner too hot and slammed into my rear three quarter panel. Usually I'd be aware but as it was my first PP800 grind at Sardegna with the RS5 I was watching the fuel page rather than radar and for some reason racing in bonnet cam so no rear view mirror either. I'm pretty sure he would have lost control had I not been there as a cushion, luckily I saved his race as he galloped off into the distance and somehow didn't lose my clean race bonus!

For the lols...

But that was his line. Find Your Line™

For those of us that want hard copies of our setup, a download able blank sheet on the website would be nice. Switching between sheets in game only to have to write it down anyway is time consuming. But, I am old and like to have notebook of my tunes for later use.

Something else I just remembered…….why is it, we can change the headlamp brightness on road cars etc, but not on the Gr.3’s, Gr.4’s etc? I do find that incredibly annoying 😠 especially for an old timer like myself who doesn’t necessarily see all that great when it comes to driving in nighttime races 🤔 Being able to make the headlamps brighter on my road cars definitely helps 👍 but for some of the race cars…..for example the Viper Gr.3, whose headlamps are absolutely abysmal when it comes to night racing you can’t change them…..WHY? And if it has something to do with FIA stuff or whatever when it comes to “Official” racing then fine, I’m sure that it wouldn’t be to difficult to set it up to where if you are participating in an official event that the headlamps would resort back to their default settings 🤔 At least that way people who enjoy playing this game just for fun (like myself) could change the brightness on our race cars for a little help with racing at night 😁

You could try changing the exposure correction in display settings. Not exactly what you’re after but it’ll make things look a bit brighter and perhaps you can find a sweet spot.

Thanks for that suggestion, will have to give it a try the next time I find myself racing my Gr.3 Viper at night 😁👍

After the last update in some CE the gold times are easier.
Εven though I got the record from the previous attempts, it doesn't give me the gold reward!!
And i must do it again if i want to accomplised it!!!
Really odd!!!!

IIRC only the leaderboards have been erased, if you already had gold before, you can set new times but you won't get the prize again

In previous status i haven't golded.
After update i become with gold time without ...gold!!!!LOL

Not sure to understand well. Your previous times were not gold before the update, but now they are. But you don't get the prize ?

You can't get rid of the DLC cars (at least without buying at least a second one; Supra GT500 and Living Legend only) and/or the 25th Anniversary X2019.

1 Track limit penalty - I got them even when I was driving in the middle of the road mid speed without any other cars around.
2 Roulette - very predictable, 90% goes to the lowest money reward, then 9% goes to invitations for cars that I don’t buy or parts that I had no use, only once in a full moon do I get a car
3 Unobtainable parts - I want to try out some engine swaps but I missed the glitch and roulette doesn’t make engines available. Why don’t they just sell the engines? And other parts like level 5 weight reduction, oh yeah as if I have that car and would invest in weight reduction up to level 4…and that carbon shaft? Why don’t PD make them available in the shop as with before?

The off course resetting. No point in having that if you're not racing online with other people. If you're doing a single player time trial, or a split screen 2 player why oh why do I get reset? I'm alone or with a buddy that's also 'cheating' for **** sake PD.

I tried driving in GT6 a couple times and I don't get reset at all on the same tracks in the same areas.

9% prob of getting an invite, dont forget to divide that by 7 different invites.
You have about aprox 1% prob per invite

Overenthusiastic language filter in comments and content titles.

Why do I have to spend 3 minutes rewording my text in order to finally figure out where it thinks I'm trying to say something abusive?

Surely if there's a system to prevent abusive language and it's preventing perfectly normal comments then it's not working as intended?

(Edit: a guide to which word isn't allowed would be start)

Why would you?
Probably to clean out the garage(which, I often do). I’d like to delete mine. They should be like the bought DLC in GT Sport, they can be deleted and re-installed.
Same like the Manu cars. Can’t get rid of those either.

Some things that annoy me in GT7:
- The rotation of cars in the Legendary dealership. I've been trying for over a year now to buy the Ferrari F40. Only time i've ever seen it was not long after the game release, when i didn't have the money. Then life got in the way (newborn baby), i deleted the game a few times in frustration about how it's designed, and in between times i've obviously missed it every time it's come around.

- The rolling start races. See my signature; rolling start races are extremely lazy programming/design and need to be abolished. I hate them with a passion and they ruin the excitement of the beginning of every single race with them

- The engine swap design. The idea of swapping engines is great in itself, but the haphazard/game of luck way of getting engines is extremely annoying to those of us who have very limited time to play games.

- Not allowing entry to races if you're using the wrong tyres. At least give us the option to change them then and there with a prompt, or move the notice to the race menu screen so we can buy and equip tyres without leaving the event, back to the main menu.

There are many more things that annoy me, but only have time for these so far.

Bit of a vent after a long weekend that involved a fair bit of grinding :banghead:

- Custom Races are irritatingly close to being great
But defeat is snatched from the jaws of victory with obvious bugs such as the rolling start distance can either be 20m, or broken. Cars only use their default tyres regardless of what you set, unless it's RH of course. To have a varied grid of liveries, you have to buy multiples of a car, lovely, especially if you want to use any LCD 20,000,000cr cars. Boost 'Weak' interferes less than Boost 'Off', obviously. How on earth can Off not just turn it off?! Oh and naturally, the payouts are crap. If the difficulty is maxed out, the payout should reflect the ~25 - 30,000 credits per minute rate of the highest paying PD races. Setting up a 24 hour highest difficulty race ends up being worth about 150 credits a minute. Player PP rating vs AI should have more impact too, I beat a grid of Tomahawks (~1359PP) in a 60s Abarth 595 (~130pp) and the payout was still crap.

- Inconsistent payouts
Hardly a new gripe, but why can't all higher difficulty races just pay out at similar rates? There seems to be some weird curated prize money to everything, when it could just be an estimate of how long the race will take, multiplied by ~25 - 30,000cr per minute (with CRB) and job done. Then you could merrily race whatever you wanted without the nagging feeling that you're wasting your time because this race you enjoyed that took 25 minutes was only worth 50,000cr, whereas that time could have been spent redoing Sardegna (again) and earning 727,500cr.

- Engine swap design
They already have the option to let you buy a new engine for your car. Why on earth can you not just buy another and that go in to your stock of available engines that can be swapped? They'd still have an annoying barrier to entry (which seems crucial to PD) that you would have to buy the donor car first, and then buy a new engine for that, but it would at least give you a logical and borderline realistic avenue to engine swaps. Ignoring the crap "extra menus" where they're trying to apologetically shoehorn in a few extra engine tickets, I have spent 360 hours playing the game, and in that time I have legitimatelly only earned 1 engine ticket. That's ludicrous.

- Roulette
Obviously. Oh look, the smallest amount of money, again. Then perhaps one in 50 times, it's a low spec car part you can freely buy, for a car I don't have, that's worth less than the smallest amount of money on the wheel. Oh but don't fret, once in a blue moon, there's an invite to buy a car I either don't want, or already have. Just give us 10,000 credits for completing the daily marathon and be done with it. Why not also give a 5 star ticket for doing 300 miles in a day? And a 6 star ticket for doing 500 miles perhaps?

And breathe. I think that helped

And another thing... :D

- The music implementation
In some earlier GTs, you used to be able to toggle off songs etc. Whilst grinding I've been putting on race music and turning the sound effects down to try and pass the time. Ridiculous, but when it's just a mindless grind, I play with the pad on the TV, the wheel and VR is left as it's just not worth the effort. Anyway, it would be nice to be able to at least turn off some of the more ridiculous songs (William Tell Overture and the at least appropriately named Galop Infernal for example) during the racing. Also, in the menus, the music changes far too much, just start a song and leave it going, it doesn't need to change when I go into the garage, and change again on the way back out, and change for the user car dealership etc.

In GT1 when the extent of the background music was a 10 second loop for each section then fair enough, but it's just ridiculous when combined with the PS5's quick load times between screens that you're just getting a couple of seconds of an intro and then a random change to another song in the next screen. I just want that Summer Madness cover on loop please :D

100x YES, and it could also take into account the difficulty of the event or the group of cars, you would win more in an event with Gr.1 than with Toyota Prius, Mazda Daemio... so a base of credits per minute, plus factors for difficulty, groups...
Why not also give a 5 star ticket for doing 300 miles in a day? And a 6 star ticket for doing 500 miles perhaps?
Yes, give the opportunity to gain more ticket by playing more (with diminishing returns of course)

Reason number one I switched of music entirely. Who is the moron who thought that changing the music between each menu was a good idea ? 🤪

Let me tell you how crazy the music that plays in the livery editor makes me when you spend an hour in there and hear the same five songs over and over again. "Oh, listen. It's Beautiful Blue Danube again..."
