The Things That Annoy You

When you get in a rally car and hop into a custom race at a dirt track, taking a lot of time to configure all the settings for the race, like the opponents, grid, time, weather, penalties, the lot. You're finally done and click Enter Race, and that's when the game tells you you don't have dirt tires equipped and can't continue. So you get kicked out of the custom race settings and lose all your settings. :grumpy:

Even GT4 had a thing where if you had dirt tires but didn't have them equipped, it would switch to them automatically when you enter a dirt race.
I always save my custom race parameters, just in case. That tyre thing is really annoying indeed.

Is there any technical reason why we can't pause the game during pit stops?

Also in pit stops the inability to change one's mind on tyre changes (or not refuelling) is maddening, especially given how every other decision you make in the game seems to require multiple 'are you sure?' confirmation presses.
I have lost a few races where I inadvertently hit the "no refuel" by mistake... It's crazy... WTH

Why can't I cancel or undo my decision, especially while the car is still driving down the pit lane...

If one undo its decision or change your mind at the last minute, rightfully there should be a minimum of delays added to the pit process to account for the pit crew to swap from the original setup as decided at the entry of the pitlane .. or allow the decision to be made even before going into the pit....

The lack of pit lane actual animation of the car driving in the pit area is frustrating... We should be able to change view....
(I know how difficult it also might be for PD to implement that, especially when all other cars are getting into the pit at the same time....but there should be some minimal improvements made there... If Kaz would be so kind lol)

Add to this that you cannot put different set of tyres front / rear or left / right, nor only change few of them. Also, changing tyres is way too quick which doesn't helps to deepen the strategic weight of pit stops.

The funny thing being that every AI pit crew waits for its car, except yours, despite you're the only one to enter le pitlane...

F1 tire changes are typically 2.7 seconds.

Are all f1 pit stops the same with all those crew? That is stupidly unsafe...
They've been doing it this way for decades now. I'm surprised you've never seen it. A perfect pit stop can take as little as 2 seconds. F1 pit stalls are much larger than NASCAR also, and they rarely all come in at the same time so safety isn't as big an issues as you think.

I do not watch either NASCAR or F1, my viewing is of the ADAC 24HR Nurburgring, WEC 24HR Le Mans, etc...
