FrzGT, WTF man? Why would you post that?

This.

Even I'm finding it difficult to come into this thread thanks in part to a few recent questionable contributions. Self moderation helped earlier in this thread's life where members made sure they didn't cross the line, so maybe try and stick to it, eh? i.e. no distasteful "waifu hurting" crap or creepy nonsense.

This also goes for art that's questionable enough to land you with a warning if you're careless enough to post something along those lines. If you want to refer to certain images on Derpibooru (BTW don't even bother mentioning explicit stuff here), then use the image number in the URL.

Ok sorry about that. I promise I will aknowledge that in the future.
I have no incentive of promoting such things.

Image has been replaced with this:

Guys, if you were ever wondering why 99% of the discussion us oldies had has moved to a Skype chat, you now know the answer.

It doesn't matter if it's Pony, Anime, or bloody crayon drawings. No-one here wants to see posts laughing at abusive relationships...

The waifu stuff was a little weird, but that is just flat-out wrong.

Plus vectors, never have I seen a thread with so many vectors. ..

I am the 1%! :dopey:

(Gah, I still need to do that, I feel disconnected from everyone else because of it.)

Can someone explain to me a vector?

Bitmap image: Each individual pixel of the image is stored as a separate, absolute value. It has a limited resolution and colour depth, but is ideal for storing fixed, finalised images such as screenshots and photographs.

Vector image: The image is stored as a series of mathematical values representing shapes and colours. An eye, for example, would be stored as an oval as opposed to a cluster of pixels. Because the image is stored as different "pieces" that have no resolution, they can be edited layer-by-layer and scaled infinitely up or down. Flash, the program used to animate MLP:FIM uses moving vectors for character animation - and thus, all MLP character models were originally vectors. The format is useless for storing fixed, realistic images such as photographs, as the shapes are far too complex and detailed in colour for it to be effective to represent them with vectors.

What's tagged as "vector" on sites like Derpibooru are actually high-resolution bitmap "renders" of vector images. So, a vector of Twilight Sparkle would have been exported from the editing application as a .PNG file, for example.

I hope this helps. ;)

So the DB "vectors" are false, and actually Bitmaps?

That's not the problem.

The problem is that the vector style images are not art, they're just vectors from the show.

I haven't even bothered to come in here for weeks because of the lack of actual artwork.
