Well, someone was afraid to read it. I specifically remember that someone kept saying that the image for it freaked them out (and having it as the preview picture for the Fan Fic Artwork album for all that time probably didn't help). Granted, this was back before he wrote the Epilogue and the story just ended on the amazingly depressing note Chapter 4 ended on, but still.

MintBerryCrunch, you mentioned the other day that you wanted some love for Big Mac. Well, I've been following this one for the past couple of days and the guy finally managed to win me over with it.
I was initially put off by how different his take on Big Mac seemed from what it was in the show, but I ultimately came to the conclusion that it isn't different so much as greatly expanded. The story also has a lot of really clever "now that you mention it" ideas littered throughout (for example, in the story Big Mac doesn't really know any of Applejack's friends outside of their relationship with Applejack; and he spends so much time working on the farm that he doesn't really know anyone in Ponyville), and all of the explanations given for Big Mac's personality quirks are perfectly reasonable (with one exception, which the author went back and fixed when it was pointed out to him).

The guy is also really dedicated to it. He drew the preview picture for it. He's been helpful and friendly in the comments section for it. Hell, Vinyl Scratch was featured in the 5th chapter as the DJ for a rave, so he composed the song that was featured in the chapter.

^Thanks, I'll be sure to check that out after I get to Mommy Nearest
EDIT: Just read the prologue. While short, very short, it managed to get me interested enough to want to read it first.

Also, Weigert brought up a good point about Sunset. I'll go ahead and wait until after TNTNE since that should be updating pretty soon.

I almost think I should sit down and make up a keyboard macro for the
tag. I'm sure it will save me an awful lot of time typing in the long run.

Everyone are talking about TNTNE showing tonight... I don't know what to do. It's 23:24 here. Should I go to sleep and see 5+ new pages here in the morning, or should I wait for it. Decisions, decisions...

On the other "news". Do you know what bugs me about my pictures? The shape of ponies. They look big, with long legs and neck... and the fact, that I CAN"T draw them with both eyes visible.

EDIT: seen this somewhere:

"Finished a book/movie/TV series
Feels like I lost a friend."

=(

Well I've got one free button on my mouse when I'm in Browsing Mode, so I might actually fix something up for that.:P

I just remembered something that is amazingly pertinent to this discussion.

Remember how I said this:

Probably for the best. I'm about to read Chapter 10 of TNTNE, and I'm almost certain that reading it right after reading the final chapter of Sunset is a terrible idea.
Remember how I did it anyways, and this happened:
First, I read the final chapter of Sunset and was shaking by the end of it. The I reread the last handful of paragraphs and realized something I missed, then I went from shaking to depressed. I explained this in greater detail earlier today, so I won't go over it here.

Then I read Chapter 10 of The Night That Never Ended and was shaking throughout it, and basically had an hour in a car to mull over what was going on (Brotip: Do NOT read chapters of two GrimDark fanfics in a row).
I took that bullet for you guys already. Do something else in between the two. Read something funny. Listen to Pinkie Pie Can-Can for an hour. Anything.

It obviously won't be as much of a problem now that Chapter 4 isn't the final chapter anymore, but you'll thank me for it later.

Oh, that's a good plot device:

I saw an image the other day that asked a similar question regarding how Celestia's hair in the storybook was the pink color associated with her youth when she was banishing Nightmare Moon, but she has her normal appearance elsewhere in the book.

Of course, that's from memory so I probably got the details wrong.

Maybe there's no secret message and it was just an oversight? :P

Also my Halo fanfic got rejected on the grounds that it's both too short for an intro chapter, and it's basically pony-coloured Halo. I can't seem to think of any real way to ponify Halo more, so to the idea backburner it goes, for a little simmer.

/Edit/

Brony Day Musical stuff is actually pretty awesome. Especiallly NGRForce:

^I wonder what else is going to show up. I'm sure those videos are only scratching the surface of what Bronies will be putting out today.

And unit-one, Brony appreciation day is just another thing for you to add to your list of reasons this weekend is great.

I love that NRGForce video, he did a really great job at mixing all of those other PMVs together, but I can never get enough Daft Punk.

EDIT:
Brony Movie Night
I was planning on reading that Big Macintosh story, but.....well, I'll just read it while I listen to the BMN in the background. Of course.....that means I'll probably finish in time for the godawful garbage that is Battle Field: Earth

I hope you find a way to get it approved.

Reworking the concept into something loosely resembling Halo. Not now though, writing A Little Piece of Heaven, (finale to I Won't See You Tonight.)

Plot is some crazy-ass crap I dreamt up. Several unlikely forces align to combine a pair of unlikely ponies. Involving a sister dying, the afterlife, mind melding, and Trixie's three chapters of character building.

I had to leave BMN. I'll be on the GMT tommorow, (got threatened by RainBroDash to be there.) Shame us Brit Bronies are a scattered and rare breed.

What the...okay, that image is random as hell.

Maybe there's no secret message and it was just an oversight? :P

You know, I thought about how those stars aided Nightmare Moon's escape a couple of weeks ago, and it did occur to me that someone could write a fanfic based on the event.

That's just awesome.

That movie is rubbish, the worst from Travolta and one of my least favourites ones.I'm up for the Godfather, although I may be able to see just some bits.

^^^ That's funny, most of the bronies I know are either from Australia or Great Britain(and the US obviously).

Also time for pic:

I told you Rarity could be a sniper(however that image is a bit awkward):

That's all.

CAN YOU HELP ME??

I was wondering if someone would be able to help me by putting Rainbow Dash popping up from behind the rallycross part of this logo:

Wasn't sure exactly what you wanted, so this is what I came up with.

Edit: Its images like this that make me forget why I hate the mean, bitch characters:

Then I remember why I hated them and go right back to hating them.

So far this story is amazing, but I wanted to say something about one part.
“Huh?” she was focusing on the contents of a different book titled ‘Magnets: How Do They Work?’

I lol'ed. That whole scene with the banter between Twilight and Spike is just really funny. It's go humor, but it's subtle humor other than in some places.

And Big Macintosh has that same social awkwardness about him that I use to when I was around crowds or in pretty much any social situation. I use to try to avoid contact with other people because I was always worried that I'd make myself look stupid. And when I was confronted by others I use to just lock up, stutter a lot, and get words mixed up, and then just beat myself up over it mentally. I still feel nervous in social situations, but not to that extent.

He's pretty much the less-book-smart and harder-working version of me from a few months ago. Only I wasted my time on the internet instead of using it to get work done, although, if it weren't for the internet I probably would have found something more productive to bury myself in.

And the writing style was fantastic. The fact that I know the exact feeling Big Macintosh was experiencing when he talked to new ponies, or was in a crowd, combined with the really detailed, but not overdone visual descriptions, it really felt like I was actually there, experiencing the things he was.

Alright, sorry Trixie, but Big Mac is my new 2nd favorite.

EDIT: I'll save the rest for after TNTNE because this is an extremely uplifting story to me, if only because of how much I can relate to Big Mac.
In fact, I'd have to say so far this is my favorite story, it's not the best ever, but it is my favorite.

For now I'll just watch some Godfather.

Dammit, is this going to be another Trixie-esque type thing, where a sudden realization makes everyone love her?
Because after that I started thinking about it, she's still only a filly. How many of us know little girls who aren't annoying sometimes, and never brag about something? I mean, kids are just cruel like that to each other all the time.....but that doesn't mean she's a bad pony.

That said, in the episode she does appear in, she's annoying as hell, and I still don't like it, but what she did can still be credited to her being a little filly who doesn't know any better.

It'll take a high quality fan-fiction to make me like her, but I don't really hate her, I can't bring myself to feel hatred for a little filly who just doesn't know any better.

Sethisto has officially lost his mind.

She is the classic "Rival Bitch," to be honest, hiding her own insecurities to make others feel bad. And, I suppose one could use their gift for good or bad.

Of course you would feel for her in that image, but the hatred pointed in her direction is solely based on the way she acts during the one episode she featured in. That being said, I still don't like her, but hate is too strong a word to use when referring to a filly who is, well, immature to say the least.

I'm probably not going to bother looking at BMN right now, and I'm certainly not going to watch Battlefield Earth again. It's been so long since I last saw that film that I can barely recall what happened in it, although that's probably a good thing.

Just take a look at the YouTube comments for that MLP video which fails to acknowledge Luna's existence.
Luna fans be ragin'

I figured you would like it. I always liked how it was written (and once he went back and fixed the thing with Rainbow Dash, I had no problem with the content specifically), but for whatever reason it just didn't *click* with me until Chapter 5.

Thankfully, once it did it made me appreciate the beginning chapters too.

No. Screw her.

I don't care how young she is. Every second she was on screen she acted like Libby from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and it takes specific intent to act that way all the time.

I love what he did with the comments, too.

Well I still don't like her, and I doubt she ever will. She annoys the piss out of me, but I still can't go as far as hating her.

The more I think about the less sure I am. She is an extreme bitch compared to the others, but there's still a chance she'll grow up to be completely different. I've known people like her who ended up being really nice when they got older.

Alright, I'll just go with, I dislike her, and she's annoying now, but there's a chance for redemption when she's older. A slim chance, but still a chance.

I mean, she's pretty much Gilda in filly form. She's a bitch who thinks she's better than everyone. Only she, unlike Gilda, has the benefit of being a filly, so she could potentially grow out of the bitchy stage.

I just don't like the idea of permanently condemning anypony.
When reading that last part, remember that Gilda isn't a pony.

I can deal with Gilda being a bitch. No problem at all. She was certainly mean, but she was really just a jerk, and for all her problems she was at least nice to Rainbow Dash Freyja. (Oh yeah, dropping fanon names like a boss).

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon were that almost cartoonish evil that nonetheless is painfully realistic for anyone who has ever attended an American high school. And the only reason they seemed to stand each other is because they both felt superior to everyone else so much. And I can't personally stand that.

^I can't stand it either, but my point is she might still grow out of that. I mean, if I were locked in a small room with them as they are now for a couple hours I might end up hitting oneboth of them, but again, there is a small chance Diamond Tiara could grow up to be a nice pony, so I'm holding off on the hatred until I see that there is no chance for her redemption.

And Gilda was only nice to Dash because she thought they were the same. If Gilda had known how Rainbow Dash really was from the beginning, I think that whole episode would have gone differently. Look at how Gilda reacted toward Dash after she found out it was her who setup all of those pranks.

If I was locked in a room with them for a couple of hours, I would punch one of them in the face. And it wouldn't be Gilda.

I don't think this is actually the reason Gilda turned on Rainbow Dash Freyja, though. I think it was a combination of Rainbow Dash Freyja sticking up for Pinkie Pie, her calling out Gilda for the latter's actions and Gilda being embarrassed about what happened.

I personally know someone who thinks they're superior to everyone else, which annoys the hell out of me and some of my friends feel the same way too. Even though I dislike Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, as well as the fact that I don't like the way they look down on their fellow classmates, it just doesn't bug me as much as that person I know who thinks they're superior to everyone.

If I was locked in a room with them for a couple of hours, I would punch one of them in the face. And it wouldn't be Gilda.

Go right ahead, I won't stop you. Hell, I might even throw in a left hook myself.

So much for love and tolerance
