Good night bronies.

@akiraacecombat
Those comics are gold 👍
@MercilessOne I added you to one of my circles in G+ but I don't know if that will mean you get an e-mail or any sort of notification.
Edit: What do ya know, you do get an e-mail.
Also this isn't the tribute to beautiful people thread. Not that I'm complaining.
@Toro, good work on that troll. 👍

Finally have some Lyra.

This comic is Full of win:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Damn, that comic gave me a good laugh

Anywho, here's some more news from BronyCray:

July 15th: Chapter 14 goes up tomorrow, I'm still waiting on an editor or two. I think I recruited to many. It's going up tomorrow regardless of who's finished or not, however, cause I want it to go up as badly as you do. That being said, they've already caught more than a few mistakes, so this was definitely a good idea.

The anticipation for the next part of TNTNE is almost unreal, looks like tomorrow's going to be quite busy in terms of fanfic discussion. Wait, now I have time to read Mareway and Hurst, so I think I'll give it a look now.

Also MercilessOne, please stop clopping to humanized Trixie

I'm off to bed everypony see you in eight hours.
I don't think this is a repost.

Actually I don't care if it is, sleeping Rarity is sleeping adorable.

Goodnight.

I've only ever seen one Alicorn Rainbow Dash story, and it was about as far away from depressing as possible. So.
And then, a few hours later, said story updates after a month of inactivity.

Edit: Currently reading Mareway and Hurst. Three sentences in and the warning flags already all went up when combined with the tags.

Edit 2: Yeah, that was great. Told just enough of the story, from just the right point of view, to maximize the impact of what happened while minimizing unnecessary details.

Alright, just got back from work, so I'll be eating really wick then I'll read the comments between Mustang and Toro, the I'll get to Mareway and Hurst.

Also, I've been watching Dave Mustang for a few days now. I've always had a good laugh at how much stupidity one person can put out over the internet. Looking forward to reading the comments when I'm done eating.

And whats that story with the RD Alicorn called Toro?

^^ Exactly, one of the reason why I don't follow long stories is because they require a bit of background for the evolution of the characters and eventual appealing(like getting drunk with beers),while Mareway and Hurst is more immediate, but it has great delivery(like getting drunk with Vodka).

Time for noon pic posting:

Not sure if I posted before, but:

I wonder,who is he?:

(looks like George Harrison is his youngest days, without moustache version,he had the same guitar, well, his guitar was a blue but the style was the same)

Yeah, that was great. Told just enough of the story, from just the right point of view, to maximize the impact of what happened while minimizing unnecessary details.

I thought it was a good read, I quite liked the gritty realism of it all. It's short, but as you said, enough of the story was told.

And every time I see the word "Bloke" used at various points in the story, I can't help but think that the characters are speaking in a British accent

^ I don't know good short fan fics.

This is arguably the best weekend ever! (this year)

I finished all fan art I promised, made people happy, made a sleeping pony pic, got impressed by BC's new story, uploaded pics from GT5 race, made people happy...

I even went to Sea Days! The weather was not very good, gloomy and misty, but after a couple of hours the sun shined through the clouds. Thanks to the weather, there were small amount of people, so me and my friend visited every ship on display. I even touched some guns (Browning M2 HB and MG3 machine guns, and AA guns) made lots of photos!

The Picasa gallery is full of win, and I'm reading Toro's comments on ED.

TNTNE 14 is going to be uploaded tonight (I hope)

Oh "The Centrepiece of My Collection" just updated...with it's next chapter "The Collection of My Centrepiece."

Imaginative, but the first chapter was fairly good. Bookmark'd for after work.
I actually quite liked how the second chapter turned out. I thought the first chapter was impressive, but it was impressive more for subverting my expectations than it was by itself.

Second chapter was much stronger in terms of standalone impact. Not really as sad as the author probably hoped, but it was quite... fitting. And it does wash away a bit of the creepy aspect that the first chapter sorta had, even though I was always rather uneasy about labeling it as such in the first place.

Any good fics to reccomend while I wait for Seth's pre-readers to look at my fic. (Ones that aren't Fallout: Equestria?) :P
That depends entirely on what you are looking for.

What's the name of the story?

EDIT:
Nevermind, it's Mommy Nearest.
At least, given the description I'd think that's it.

Pretty much this.

Also, that might just be the most believable original character I've ever seen in a fan-fiction.👍

I agree. With the first words you could feel the gritty atmosphere of that city and the situation Bits is in.

And it's eerie that you can't hear officer's response. It's like you are Bits and it's Your problems.

Oh that comment section from that draw-friends was funny.
Was tempted to make a comment stating something about Dave Mustangs sexual desires for Braeburn using his own logic, but it was long enough ago to where I won't bother with it.
At first I thought he was only in it for the trolling, but no troll is that dedicated. It has to be stupidity.

Aside from him, I feel like some of those people didn't even read your comments.
Like the person who replied somewhere near the bottom who said there's never been a moment where Rarity acted like Trixie, even though you pointed out Sonic Rainboom a few times already.
I swear it's like some of those people haven't even watched the show.

Also, I'm probably going to read Part 1 of Mommy Nearest later today. I should actually be able to get a whole bunch of reading done today.

When it comes to people like Dave Mustang, I wouldn't even dignify his trolling with a reply. Instead, I would just sit on the sidelines and watch him make a foal of himself. I've encountered quite a few people who are pretty much the same as that guy in terms of their dedication to stir things up.

Is it bad if I love that Pinkie Pie version of the theme tune? :D

I mean love.

That depends entirely on what you are looking for.

Something similar to Out in the Cold, or what my own fics aimed for. Sombre and sad, but with a happy ending.

Yeah, I never really let them get to me, I usually only reply when I see an obvious flaw in logic that can be exploited. Otherwise I just sit back and watch people like Toro make them look stupid.

And now that I really think about it, I use to spend a ridiculous amount of time in Cheezburger Network comments, and there are trolls on each section that have been going for years, and are still going to this day. "Drongo" and "Dan" from Failbook spring to mind.
Yeah, I use to spend enough time on those sites to know certain trolls by name, so I could believe that Dave is just a really dedicated troll, but I still can't shake the feeling he believes what he says.

This would be the most adorable fight to the death you would ever see.

Wow...those guys sure make the most of their lives.

I just realised that the ODST album is my best fanfic writing motivation music. Especially for sadfics.

Beware: The premise of Mommy Nearest is weird as hell. Far outside the typical comfort zone for what I would consider normal usage of the canon characters. I personally think that it manages to pull off what it is trying to do before the first chapter is over (and I would totally call Rainbow Dash "Freyja" if it wasn't for how confused it would make everyone, because it kicks ass), but just as a warning.

And it was originally a one-shot story, so everything after the original chapter has a different writing style because it has a different author, and the original chapter didn't take itself as seriously as the following ones. The first chapter is action-oriented in how story unfolds, whereas the second and third chapter are emotion-oriented. Both authors do a good job conveying the plot (I personally think that Aldea Donder's writing style fits better), but the shift in tone is notable.

I'll Copy-Paste my ED comment (Which was in turn a copy-paste that I made on the forum I first saw it on. Laziness is a terrible thing):

I do ultimately think that the final version was the better one, but I must say that I would really liked to have had the acoustics that the demo version had in the final version. I really like the echo that the demo version has.

One immediately springs to mind that even reminded me of Out in the Cold as I was reading it, but I'll need to comb through the list to see if I can remember what it was called. Did you read any of the sequel stories for Out in the Cold?

There are also some more that fit your criteria, but which your liking of them depends entirely on your aversion to things like Gilda (Junior Speedsters Forever, which is not a redemption fic, so don't worry about that), GrimDark (Sunset, which everyone here is afraid to read because of the image used for it), and/or Derpy (Words are Louder, which has a double helping of somber hanging over it because it co-stars Twilight and takes place after Sunset; though it is written so you don't need to have read Sunset to understand what is going on).

But, as I said, I'll comb through the list to see exactly what story it was that I instantly thought of.

Heck yeh. I like how the story evolved to the point where it was 90% OC ponies and still awesome. Though personally I think OC ponies are much easier to write. I still like it because it's the first fanfic I read that didn't make me feel nonchalant towards it.

It also introduced me to Twixie. XD

I hate Gilda. Trixie showed a flicker of redemption, Gilda was just a pure-blooded jerk, can't stand her. I'll have a look at Sunset, seems interesting.

GrimDark (Sunset, which everyone here is afraid to read because of the image used for it)

Oh, I'm not afraid to read it. I just haven't had one of those days where I feel like finding something to make me cry. That's at the top of my list for stories I'll read when I'm in a mood where I want to make myself depressed.
Then again....my dad left on a 3 day boat trip only a few hours ago, and my mom and sister are in Kentucky, so
I might go for it tomorrow or the next morning.

Sunset is one of those fanfics that I have considered reading, but I just haven't done so for various reasons, the main reason being that I've simply forgotten about it. Although I do want to read it, I wouldn't check it out tomorrow because the chances are I'll be focusing on TNTNE part 14 instead.

And I've only just remembered that I haven't finished some of the fanfics that I've been reading in the past month, plus I haven't given Fallout: Equestria a look either.

Reading it now...weird take on a Twilight origin story, at least that's how it seems to be playing out.

/Edit/

Yeh that's how it plays out...

Is this my new favorite pony trailer ever? Why yes, yes it is.

That soundtrack + Ponies = Ungodly amounts of badass.

That's an old video, too. How did I not know about this?

Oh my ****ing god. Halo and MLP?!

Halo always had the best trailers. I just need to see "The Way the World Ends" ponified, and I can die happy.

/Edit/

:(

It didn't even try and go to the awesome theme at all. Like the harp note at the end, why is that not synched with Dash kicking the dragon? XD

/Edit2/

This, made me lol:
