So. Here's my apparent plan for Discord stories:

Put a "No Discord" rule in place because of innate fear about astoundingly dark that I know they can (and almost have to) be.
Stumble across what are obviously the darkest stories about him while screwing around, be it on Ponibooru or TV Tropes.
Proceed to read said stories anyway.
Have greatest fears materialized for the exact reasons that I expected to occur when I put the rule in place.

Pony POV Series. A long narrative spread out over 3 separate storylines that I stumbled across on TV Tropes because it had an absolutely massive page to itself, and I can't stop reading it. Everything (and I mean everything) about S2E1 and S2E2, the immediate resulting fallout that it caused, the actions of every character in several episodes after it happened (most notably Mysterious Mare Do Well), and the actions of every character in a handful of S1 episodes (particularly Boast Busters, Griffon the Brush-Off, Party of One and Cutie Mark Chronicles) is examined in detail that makes Pony Psychological look like Ballad; and everything is tied back into Discord's actions in Return of Harmony.


First story is a collection of first person narratives of the Mane Six as Discord is corrupting them (and Trixie, who Discord singled out with the explicit intent of destroying her so he could practice what he needed to do for Twilight for reasoning that is explained pretty quickly but I won't spoil here), and includes a "what-if" ending for what would have happened had Celly not sent Twilight the letters that is truly horrifying.


Second story is a collection of first person narratives of the Mane Six as Ponyville is trying to undue all of the psychological trauma that Discord caused, spending particular care noting that the different ways Discord attacked them in the maze (giving Dash a no-win scenario and forcing her to pick where her loyalty lies, using AJ's element against her by telling her a Jedi truth and forcing her to BSoD to prevent it from happening, straight up mind-raping Fluttershy when she wouldn't fall for his tricks, fracturing another part of Pinkie's personality to battle it out in her subconscious, how Rarity was comparably "easy" to corrupt and how much that tore her up, how Twilight found herself to blame for acting in a way she thought was clever and leading everyone into the maze in the first place rather than thinking things through, and how Trixie was already an emotional wreck when Discord got to her and as a result doesn't want to go back to how she was) require vastly different solutions to deal with before they overcome it.


I'm not even sure what the third story will be about, and I'm scared 🤬 at the prospect of what it may cover


I'm actually somewhat ashamed to admit that there were five six chapters where I spent almost the entire thing crying (Trixie's chapter of the first story, the theoretical ending of the first story, AJ's chapter of the second story, Trixie's chapter in the second story and both of Dash's chapters in the second story), and I'm not even done with the second story yet. The thing is really damn good, perhaps the strongest in terms of concepts explored I've ever read for this show. Even compared to TNTNE the thing shines in spots. It is only let down by its technical quality, which is occasionally rather spotty.









akira would probably love it if he could ever find the time to read it.

Is actually quite interesting because:

It follows the logical reasoning that leads to the "Dischordation" of their element, is quite bold actually.

First time I read this situation being develop, and is quite interesting to see this perspective from a more mature viewpoint (surprisingly not grimdark as expected, but still quite strong in terms of each character meaning).

And about that Trixie bit:

That Trixie concept I thought a while ago might not be as bonkers as I initially thought.

Just wait until you get into the second story and you see the sheer amount of foreshadowing was built into the first story, the ending in particular. It's insane.






Also, I'm actually getting kind of scared again, because it looks like the third storyline has is having the pieces put into place.

Well, firsts chapters were pretty good, is short but it does have some sentiment to it that gives it some appeal, they are just really interesting.

And here is where both Trixie's and Fluttershy's stories deserve a special mention because:

Is very tricky to make the degradation and logical progression for FS. And an scenario where Trixie becomes sympathetic at loosing her main characteristic was something pretty interesting, because it manages to give some importance to her narcissistic behaviour and actually care about her keeping her boastfulness.

It was pretty bold.

Unfortunately I'm done for today and I have some stuff pending, I'll read the rest of it tomorrow.
