WildRun, I've seen you at other forums and judging by your posts here and there I'm fairly certain you work for Thrustmaster... Could you please post some more info, pictures and videos of the TH8RS for us? Please? :)

Yes, I asked Gainsym if he worked for Thrustmaster and he never came back.
Unless he changed his Tag for another name.

I suppose it takes Balls to own up to working for a company. You are after all leaving yourself open to criticism. No one likes that do they.

Very true. As well the person may just want to be known as themselves and not a TM employee. After all they may share same passion we do for SIM racing. :)

Well, that's a level of affiliation. :P

Please keep posting material on the shifter, we're all very interested.

Funny how the shifter teaser was released when people were having doubts about Thrustmasters Tech Support and their products.

Release Date??

playnthru you couldnt be more misinformed then. TM told us way in advance when to expect shifter news on their facebook page.

@Wildrun, I hope that NDA ends soon so you can spill the beans :D

My plates way to full for Facebook. And I should not need to open an account to get information.. Thrustmaster should be keeping owners of there products up to date.

Yes Thrustmaster has been teasing with words about the shifter.. However the pictures showed up when people were questioning them the most..

A few posts before WildRun's Video people were scared saying "I'm Selling my T500 and buying a G27".

Now " I Can't wait for the shifter" is what I;m reading.

Really a smoke and mirror show. In My Opinion.

I will buy a shifter myself so whatever. (I'm Dumb)

But really Thrustmaster has been misinforming their customers..TRUTH

Wildrun is just trying to clean up thrustmaster Reputation..

All my "misinformation" has come from Thrustmaster and Tech Support.

Many Thrustmaster Horror stories can be found in this thread..

Playthru, if you have so much on your plate, how do you manage time to hang out here? FaceBook does not require any "effort". It's just another website for information if you treat it that way.

This TM shifter fiasco still going on?

LOL - in the mean time I have thousands of racing miles using the ActLab shifter with the T500RS, that was the best $200 I ever spent

Way back in January some of us suggested the "shifter' if real would be a Christmas Season 2011/12 product, we where laughed at and now it seems we where pretty close.

On a side note my V1 never flashed T500RS wheel is still working pretty well.

You don't have to register for a facebook account to access their page. :odd:

How has TM's reputation been smashed? From a mere handful of angry visitors posting about their same issue over & over?

Actually, as I recall what caused the controversy, I thought you predicted it was vaporware altogether. But that was a long while ago

Yes - if it even appears it will not be before Xmas 2011.

And until it actually goes on sale, it is vaporware.

:)

You don't need a Facebook account to get news on the shifter, you can get in their Facebook profile without one. There's no conspiracy here, man... The shifter was confirmed ever since the T500RS came out, and the pictures most probably came out when the shifter was ready to be shown to the public.

These products have to go through several prototypes and extensive testing.

Even though it's in beta testing with videos...

Until something goes on sale it is vapour ware.

If one thing these forums are consistent - individual opinion is still frowned upon

Should the shifter actually hit the market and it allows 3 pedal playing of GT5 then I will buy it - until then the ACt-Labs has been reliably delivering what TM and Fanatec have been unable to for almost 10 years now.

LOL - folks, just how hard is it to produce and sell a quality bloody shifter?

;)

I like reading your posts RC45 although I do think the T8rs will be here shortly. But til I can hold it in my hands all I can do is dream and be envious of all these beta testers. I'd like to know how they even got picked for this. I just checked some of my other sim sites and noticed some other t8rs beta testers talking bout it. I bet they are just loving life in a big way laughing at the rest of us 'unlucky' people that didn't get picked

No it's not thats just your attitude/opinion.
Announcement, design, development, manufacturing and advertising are hardly actions of something that does not exist or will not appear.

Not at all, but one persons persistance and opinion isnt a fact, particulary when their opinion is not backed up by proof and what they appose is.

Should the shifter NOT work in GT5 that would be very strange, yet not an impossible situation. The question is will this shifter be better than the Act Labs one? ISR seem to be stating its a match for the best shifters on the market. Time will tell of course, though it certainly looks really nice and seems well designed.

As for Beta testing very little will likely be changed to the product from customer Beta tests, if anything it is more likely already in production. Yet you say it wont be out before Xmas, seems odd why they would of released the packaging and price so early then.

Greetings,

I would like to have an opinion about replacing a G25 for a T500RS. My doubts are concerned with the T500RS cooling issues that are reported in this forum.
Is there any upgrade from Thrustmaster on the fans? (If so, what is the revision number). Are they still advising the buyers to change it themselves?
On the bottom line, being happy with the G25, will the T500RS make a major improvement on my simracing?

Best regards,

lofoscopico

^^ You know there's lots of threads about G25 vs t500rs. I would just tell you if I had a g25 myself but really, this topic has been rehashed a bunch of times now. Someone asks that question like once a week. use search feature.

Here's a bunch of threads I found with a quick search:

Your question about the fans is a valid concern though. How many posters did we see complain about fan issues now? I know RC45 took his 1st gen wheel back. Then mysteriously the V2 wheels popped up. I have a v2 wheel and never noticed any fan issue. I've had it for months and have been happily spending hours with it. I have a nice sound system though and value my Audio just as much as my wheel (almost cost as much too). So if it got loud I'd never hear it

Might be worth posting a poll if you wanted to gather a lot of opinions. Not sure how comprehensive it would be. I've noticed a lot of happy owners post once and bounce. Take for example RC45, I never see him post much (maybe once every 2-3 months)?

I think you have to pull out the wheel base and look at the bottom. Problem is no one is for sure what changed. I think I've read either here or at iRacing t500rs thread that someone called tech support to ask and they said something trivial.

So far tech support, etc has been top notch. Within like 1 hour they responded too me even though it was a silly question about v37 firmware. I also asked them what was going on with our MIA (missing in action) shifter at the time.

I had to do the upgrade on my fan V1. It took 10 mins tops and I'm glad I did it, who knows how long it would have takin sending it to TM to get the wheel back. The fan upgrade has been in about 2 weeks and no problems. I'd a DFGT b4 so can't comment on the G25/G27 but this T500 is great 👍👍

I don´t think so.

Are they still advising the buyers to change it themselves?
Yes, but they are required to repair it if you so wish.

On the bottom line, being happy with the G25, will the T500RS make a major improvement on my simracing?
Yes, because you get better performance in construction an force feedback, but you lost in quality.

Is V2 the latest? Where, in the box, can i find the hardware version?
Not, is V4. You can find it in a stick in the shipping carton for, but not in the standart "shop" box (then you'd have to look under the steering wheel).

Oooh I got a refund coming on some parts that was on back order and never came off. So this thing will be mine release day! Stoked the extra mad money came about. It's fate I tell you. fate!
