TM has been great to me. I contacted them 2 days ago about a concern I had with my fan. They wanted a video with sound. I told them I did not have the means to do so. Then reminded them of my original wheel problem. Told them that I purchased their product in good faith and they should treat me in that same manner. After about 2 more e-mail exchanges they agreed to send me the fan kit. Said they would make an exception for me, I am special. :)

Their customer service is actually quite good if you are the type of person who doesn't give up too easily when they try to give you the usual run around.

I'm just thinking about how it'd fit my Playseat. Would I have the same space in between the wheel and the seat? I'm not quite sure how much bigger the T500 is compared to my DFGT.

The shirts are merely there because of my cat.:D

They seem to like to sit the most where they arent allowed the little buggers... my p cat does the same and leaves her fur all over the rig... sometimes I leave my laptop opened and switched off just to get home and have it turned on... I think she learned how to switch it on with her paw just to have a heat source to sit on :ouch:

Hm, any word on our T8RS? Did they ever say when we will be ready to order? I'm tired of trying to give these wheel makers money and they are way too slow to get our stuff ready
Yeah , LOL... Hello TM, do you want our money or not? :dopey:

Well my fan on my unit let out a howling screech last night. I was playing with the volume at a rather high amount of db. Only to gear this awful noise trying to push through my Calsonic's engine music. Grabbed remote. Muted stereo. Was like whoa that is not normal and that is loud. Grabbed phone and got video going. By this time 20-30 passed. I got some video though. Sounds like the "fan" mentioned. As well it sounds to have drag on it. For it appeared to come to a noisy halt.

I got the ball rolling with warranty. These cats better not think I am replacing the fan. I will do so at our shop rate and send them a bill. ;) we bill out at 90 dollars an hour in the main shop. Sounds like a 2-3 hr job. Sorry I can make 200+ dollars in that time period. No way will I do someone roses warranty work or work for that matter free of charge. I am into the business of making money.

While being picky and scrutinizing. I feel the wheel has developed a sloppy center with a bit of clunk or thunk at center.

Won't settle for anything less then a rebuild or replacement.
My unit also started to make abnormal noise when the fan started at the first time. After a few tenths of seconds, it will be back to "normal" sound.

Other thing i want to share is the wheel rim. Its not firm anymore, a bit loosen back and forth.. oh how to describe this

💡 will make a video of it

At first I thought it was the brake mod spring. So I packed it with some bearing grease. Then it started again. So I took it out and changed the foam padding and added a piece of thin rubber about mid spring. Then it started to get a squeeking sound which was the hinge pin. Just a tiny drop of macine oil on either side of the pin will fix that. Hope this helps. Vince

Check the screws on the back side of the rim, often. I mentioned this pages back. Do not let the wife vacuum around your man space till you do a screw check.

I'm not using the spring anymore :P since I had the calibration issue due to user error (not having pedals plugged in at startup!). I think it might be one of the screws that mounts the long brake assembly to the plate. I'm using "F1" mode (pedals on the floor), I need to remove the silver plate to check screws on the black plate. I don't dare use Loctite, those heads will strip all to crap if I want to loosen them again.

@vince

Thanks for the tips.
I've checked that couple days ago. The screw is still there. I even unscrewed it, turn the "cylinder" to remove the rim. Checked the main shaft, perfectly firm. Put it back together, and yet still the same, a bit loose.

Check the 3 screws behind the rim too. If not already done so. They are right where the rubber meets the metal.

Dude, do you work for thrustmaster? Or are you just wishfullthinking? Their customer service sucks. Besides wanting people to repair thrustmaster's shoddy workmanship by themselves, they believe their customers are all lying. The wheel definitely has a problem with the fan and thrustmaster is not taking any responsability. They should take a hint from the competition.

They really do stink. Worst I have ever dealt with.

Honestly if you buy this wheel get the store replacement plan. Otherwise go with another brand.

They think I should pay to ship the wheel. They lost their mind. I am not putting out any more money. No way!

Wonder about calling my credit card and asking them to get involved. I dint have the patience for this. Starting to get mad.

Wow. In the beginning this wheel was reported to have fantastic, second to none support. What happened?

When you say they should learn from there competitors I assume your talking about logitech. Are you?

Shocked.

When my fan went noisy, TM had my wheel collected from the UK, fixed and back to me (from France) in 2 days.

Things seem to have gone downhill fast from there though due to the number of faulty fans.

Logitech have the greatest customer support of any company I've ever experienced. Shame they gave up on wheels after the G27.

Really much better.

It´s a pitty, because I was excited with the TH8 RS and the F1 rim launch, but would not make sense to buy one or the other while Thrustmaster not properly repaired my T500 paddles. I hope the claim I filed succeed.

Sorry to hear that guys.
Frustrating when your wheel breaks. Ive had that feeling.
Can't replace lost track time. Even more annoying if you are part of a weekly race or series.

Hope it works out for you.

I basically called them out on the wareanty as being a 2 yr replacement. He says that's for faulty units. I said then if mines not faulty why you want to send me a fan to repair it? Why are we talking?

I basically told him. I put out money to get this enjoyment. Now it is not enjoyment and you are asking me to put out more to have it fixed. I fail to see why I am even being inconvenienced by your problem with your wheel. I told him I am Getting off the phone and calling two people. First my credit card company so they will back me on this. As well at this point and the stress involved I will contact an attorney relevant to said 2 yr Warranty. Also mentioned these fans causing heating issues and what point does this become a fire hazard to the owners. Told him you admit to this faulty part by offering to send a replacement fan. That is admission to guilt. Told him in the US we consumers are protected against things like this.

He told me to reply back that I would only accept a replacement. Said cant guarantee however just send it and he try to make it happen. I thanked him and told him I would give them 24 hrs to respond before calling CC company and attorney.

Offered to put money in a cc to ensure I would send other back. All I want is my broken wheel replaced. Nothing more nothing less.

Here is hoping they see this issue and come up wit a resolution. I think a recall is in order.

DUDE! I don't know, do I? Am I just wishfully thinking? Or did I approach my situation like a man and get exactly what I wanted from them without taking no for an answer. You totally came up with your own assumptions about that post, and the sarcasm that went along with it, which was, if you are persistent enough, you can get exactly what you want from them, or from any other company. Just who the hell are you to come on here and address me in such a manner anyway? Is that how all new members get welcomed around here? Would it be wishful thinking to hope that most members here don't act in the same jerkish matter as yourself? Probably.

I don't know what problem you have with them, but you need to take a hint and grow some balls, and don't take out your frustration on other people who are in the same boat as you. I don't go around crying about Thrustmaster because I knew what I was getting into before I bought the wheel, and I was prepared to deal with things accordingly. In this case that meant that I stood up for myself and got what I wanted during my interaction with their customer service. The same thing will happen whenever I choose to address the fan issue that seems to be happening with almost any unit you buy from them. If what you want is within reason, don't settle for anything less than that. Make them accountable for any problem that occurs with their product that isn't any fault of yours.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, and the way you have to stand up and approach things. No one held our hands and forced us to buy their product. So crying and complaining will do nothing. You need to understand your rights and your position, and use it to help you make things fair.

I hope they do the right thing and you get what you need out of the situation. A recall would be nice, because I'm not looking forward to having to deal with them again for this fan issue.

^^ :)
In my country there is no way i can claim a guarantee, unless I have to go through long winding and painful way (and costly too).
So I keep an eye the forums and try to work things around :)

keep the tension low and keep sharing guys ..

I'm sorry you got mad, but I'm not responsible for your feelings though. It seems you're a bit of a brute. But that's fine with me. I immagine that by using derrogatory statements towards others, you often speak to yourself in the same manner, and that's a shame. Maybe the act of comparing your manhood with others on a wheel forum is a sign of deep insecurity. Maybe you should get that cheked by a doctor. What really makes me wonder is why you come on this post and start talking about how the wheel would work fine with out a fan? Are you simpleminded or just corrupt? Also the fact that that you come here all high and mighty and start telling other that it was your persistance and nad formation that got your issue fixed is annoying and delusional. I Believe if you live far away from where the wheel will be fixed thrustmaster doesn't want to help because they dont want to pay for shipping. In other words Thrustmaster is giving people the run around with warranties depending on their geographical location, not on the size of their balls. But please keep on dreaming about being the alpha kid in the room.

Yes Spagetti, I was talking about logitech. The T 500 may be better than the G27, but the service at Thrustmaster really does suck. Their staff is insulting and devious. It makes me think the kind of job atmosphere that generates such behavior and work ethic in their employees.

Just pre ordered the new shifter 👍 I hope it doesn't have a fan :scared:

I will not be ordering another product from this company. t500 will he replaced with a Fanatec come release of their new wheel.

At which point I will put this headache in a box and have it for a back up.

Complete and utterly disgusted by the shady business ethics.

The fans are a common problem. Replace the defective units like a company with integrity would.
