Thanks WildRun I made the correction. I used that tool before to verify my tools after you taught us how to use it (but made a critical error in the review I thank you very much)

I sometimes hang over my wheel as I need to type (did that with my CSP review as well :P ), leaning on it with my chin and i've got no issues. :dunce:

@Wildrun: That looks like a handy piece of software. I'll use that in my reviews if you don't mind? :D

Edit: Just noticed that the CSPs don't differ in precision in what's transfered to the computer from the T500 pedals. As both are using 1024 values or 10-bits resolution. BUT! When you look at the slider, the T500 RS clearly hops from position to position as you slowly press the pedal. The CSPs however are smooth all the way, with just a tiny deadzone in the beginning.

Ah Thomas (Fanatec for other's benefit), posted right in this thread and said the same thing. I am very eager to get my set of CSPs this Wednesday. I will be posting my thoughts very soon in your thread as you know. Plus, as I get more experienced I hope to provide even more indepth comparisons. But I think it's helpful to show a '1st impression' and later, a more 'mature impression'.

I'm so stoked! Plus, as I posted in LogiForce's thread John Bodin, the maker of the standalone t500rs pedal mod, is also investigating adding load cells to the T500RS pedals. I will be sure to make a post here if anything happens. 👍

Nice setup :dopey: :

Hello!
After years of actively reading the forum, I´m posting my first post :)

I have had the T500RS for couple of months now, and some issues have surfaced.
The fan noise for example. I, like so many others, have a loud noise when the fan starts. Not every time fortunately.

The other one is something I don't recall that anyone else has reported about.
When I turn the wheel slowly counter clockwise to the center (barabolica @ monza e.g.) and after centering, when I turn slightly left (counter clockwise), the wheel seems to be llittle "stuck" and like there's some sort of "step". And it feels little bit like dead zone.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem?

Let's hope someone understands what I'm trying to say :)

-J

Contact Thrustmaster support for a replacement fan. The reason for this noise i've reported in this thread at a earlier in this post. The report consists of a reply from Thrustmaster technical support. Basically it's just that the bearings need to warm up first, with the new fan this will be resolved. Also the fan is slightly quieter in general.

I have a bit of a zone in which it feels like the wheel falls into a notch, this is at 10 degrees to the left of center. This is only when I have the wheel unplugged though, as I don't feel it in the race.
In fact you shouldn't feel anything at all during the race, so it seems like there is really something wrong with your steering wheel. I think it needs to be replaced entirely by Thrustmaster. Again, you'll have to contact them.

It's not something that'll be easily fixable I reckon. Unless some genius has a bright idea? :P

I'd love triple screen's! Though I've never played racing sim's on a pc..........And
it's a very expensive undertaking on the Ps3! Great set up Wildrun 👍

So anyone noticed this in the Spec 2.01 update?

- Adjusted the force of the steering wheel returning to center after a race when using the “Guillemot T500RS”.

I'm guessing this does not effect driving, just less likely to rip your thumbs off post race?

It is less likely to shredder your fingers when you push start mid-race. ;)

Aaah, I think the T500 would be great to make will it blend shows with. Lol

Bout time they fixed that. I put little scratches in my wheel due to that :ouch:

It didn't blend your fingers? :dunce:

Edit:
Just tried the T500 after the update. I think they adjusted it from full to 1% rotation speed.

It's ps3 compatible. I wonder if that means it will work with all wheels with clutch pedals or maybe even without?

Listen closely after the 1 minute mark. In GT5 its only supported when using the T500 RS.

Hey guys,
I just bought the F1 add on for the T500. Pure plastic. They're charging you more for the ferrari logo in the center than for the actual wheel rim. The knobs around the center ferrari gage are actually stickers. I feel ripped off paying $200 for this. The quality of the plastics used seem really cheap. Sucks for me.

looked really exciting when first announced, but the dials being fakes and no LED display was a major fail. anyway i hope they make an add-on Ferrari quality GT rim in alcantara as I like GT cars more than open wheelers.

still happy with my T500rs, and haven't had any problems with mine. just some fingernail markings on wheel rim rubber. that rubber has always been my gripe with the t500rs.

if Thrustmaster or Fanatec (BMW wheel) don't happen in the next few months, i think I may take matters into my own hands and get alcantara to be fitted by a specialist. anyone in the UK done this? would a specialist remove the rubber grip or do they just paste a layer of alcantara on top ot it?

lastly, anyone know if there are any perfect pedal style mods available yet?

that´s an amazing setup. I also saw it on thewayIplay. It´s a shame however, that he doesn´t use the whole size of the screen(s). I´m pretty sure he has a good reason why:)

Lots of cool harware indeed.
Very interested in that screen he has used for rear projection.

I dont fancy climbing in/out of it though.

WildRun, good job on finding these amazing pics 👍

Interesting, this is the 1st negative comment I read bout it from a f1 rim owner. So you're that disappointed huh? As you guys probably noticed in the TM f1 rim thread I was singing their praises nonstop for a bit but then once I saw the $200 price tag it brought me back down to earth. I'm not willing to part with that much money right now for an extra rim.

return it!

Lol!

That setup, if only I had the room and the money... I'd probably want a garage and a nice car to tinker with. lol
To me it's a bit over the top, but still cool if you have it.

One question though. How come wifey/girlfriend agreed with this? Blackmail? haha

I guess I should've asked that one the iRacing forum :dunce:

Couple things:

Guy may always dreamed of racing. Knowing he can't afford either one or all the time, money or up keep on a real race car. SIM Racing may be his fix.

Wife/GF either single or she is very understanding. Better he home playing racing games then out either drinking or possible getting injured in a real race car.

Or he races for real and well I can see where you'd want a baller set up to use in the off season. :)

Many things to me can justify that. LOL

Valid points... :P
As long as you have fun with whatever it is you're doing, it's all good. ^_^

After some days without using my T500, the top cover has started to make crunch noises when turning the wheel (playing).

Another users with this issue?.

Wolf, the materials on the original wheel of the t500 are way better than those on the f1 rim. Rubber in particular. Hope you find your specialist.

@Dave. wish I could return it. shipping would null the economic benefit for me.

Yes my friend, I am deeply disappointed. You were right to wait.
